Best & Worst of Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Collection
After testing all of the new products from the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Collection, it was a bit of a mixed bag! The Lovegasm palette was nice, while the Lightgasm palette was less pigmented and stiffer/firmer in the pans, so it was less easy to work with. The three new shades of Light Wands were lovely, though. I struggled to prevent Rose Gold from creasing on me but had success with Star Gold–go figure.Â

I picked up star gold and the peach highlighter wand in the Sephora sale, both of which will be fairly unique to my stash and I love cream products. I am still wavering on the Lightgasm palette. I don’t mind buildable products, but for the price I don’t want to have to fight with it. I love the looks people are getting with the palettes and I tried to recreate the effect of the palettes with my Mac Extra Dimension blushes to further convince myself that I don’t need it. So far I’m staying strong.
I think the MAC ED blushes are better, so since you already have ’em, you should feel good about staying strong!!
Is pinkgasm worth it? I love the mac ex dimension blushes, i love a flushed, glowy look, thinking this new product might create something unique?
Only you can decide if it’s worth it – that’s a question that goes more to the heart of what you value, what you’re looking for, what your budget is, etc.! Pinkgasm is a liquid highlighter, so the effect is definitely different than the MAC Extra Dimension blushes, which are going to have a lot more noticeable shimmer/sparkle! Have you used liquid-based products before?
What is a good dupe for the Lightgasm palette? Something all-in-one like this and cruelty free.
Sorry, I don’t have any dupes for the entire palette!
The only thing I’ve had luck with from CT is her mascara so I’m very hesitant to try anything else. It looks very pretty but I’ve been burned before.
The highlighting creams are beautiful shades and I loved the Star Gold eye shadow too. It’s a shame that the first shade in the light palette was so awful, otherwise it would have been a lovely palette for very fair complexions.
If I didn’t have enough “close enoughs” for this palette, I’d seriously consider getting it and using it in ways not intended (since it’s technically too dark for me to use as intended). Still all very pretty products that could be very useful.
I was talking about the Lovegasm palette specifically — didn’t mean to be all mysterious.
I purchased Rose Gold and Star Gold when they first launched as CT cream shadows work so well for me, and these did not disappoint. This part of CT’s line deserves expansion, and these shades should be permanent additions. I ordered the peach and pink beauty wands, and the Lovegasm face palette.
I don’t have the creasing with the rose gold but I do have dry eyelids so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it!
While the Lightgasm palette looked lovely, I know I would not get much use of the bronzer. I might use it as an eye shadow, but I have so many of those I can hardly count them. 🙂
It was the only product that tempted me, but thanks to your review, the temptation wore off.
I haven’t had much luck with CT cream eye shadows and the one I might have been interested in got a C-.
I think CT has a lot of good, even very good products in the permanent range, I’m a bit suspicious of the LE’s.
I love her matte lipsticks, and really dislike the KISSING ones, I like the eye shadow quad I have and hate the singles I got on sale. For me the brand is all over the place. But everything can’t work for everyone, I know.
Thank you for the honest reviews!
Very helpful. I love gelee formulas and it’s especially nice I think on more mature skin because of it won’t look powdery. Of course, sparkly, etc doesn’t look good on mature skin either so hopefully this has a sheen as opposed to sparkles. We have to balance against having to press hard to get pigment in some of them, and it’s usually in the lighter palettes that better suit fairer skin. I’m fair so the Lightgasm and the Khloe palette are my colors, but they lack pigment and/or you really have to dig and re-apply to see anything so I end up buying a darker palette that doesn’t suit my coloring. Sigh. I would like to get this darker one and use it really light handed. It’s a beautiful palette but spendy. This review is thorough so it helps with a big decision!
