Charlotte Tilbury Star Gold & Rose Gold Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches
Star Gold
Charlotte Tilbury Star Gold Eyes to Mesmerise Long-Lasting Cream Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a coppery bronze with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color coverage with a smooth, lightweight, and more mousse-like texture that was emollient without being too wet or too slippery on my skin. I didn’t have issues with this shade creasing quickly on me, and I was able to apply it was a more opaque shade as well as diffused for a wash of color (which will appear best on deeper skin tones, as this one has a lower-level sheen and more base pigment). It wore well for nine hours before creasing very faintly on me.

Formula Overview
$34.00/0.24 oz. - $141.67 Per Ounce
It's supposed to be long-wearing, with a "glide-on" consistency with "soft-focus illuminating pigments" that will "smooth over lines and imperfections." They tend to have semi-opaque to opaque color coverage in a single, but they can be diffused for a sheerer wash of color if desired.
The texture has more of a gel-cream feel; noticeably emollient and full of glide but not as "wet" as one would expect. The formula has good adhesion and doesn't turn patchy as blended, which can be an issue with wetter formulas. It has a longer dry down time, which I find makes the formula more prone to faint creasing during that initial application time period.
In the past, like when the formula was originally released, I had more creasing at application and throughout wear (though always "faint" than disastrous, which I recall being puzzled by!). I've found that with more recently-released shades that it is more limited to creasing initially but once I smooth and buff out the product, it seems to keep from further creasing over the next seven to eight hours.
I eventually get faint creasing--though never that bad: where I can see it's there, but blinking, you probably wouldn't know it--after eight hours or so of wear.

Rose Gold
Charlotte Tilbury Rose Gold Eyes to Mesmerise Long-Lasting Cream Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a light, rosy copper with subtle, warm undertones and a fine, pearly sheen. It had opaque color coverage but had a very emollient texture that made it hard to apply without inevitably sheering it out. I also couldn’t prevent it from creasing and separating a bit on my inner lid space; I tried less, I tried more, I tried layers, and I tried different tools (fingertips and three different brushes).
The only way I was able to wear this shade without it creasing when applied and blended out all over the lid with fingertips, and I managed to avoid creasing on most of my lid except for the very inner crease area. The product dried down and eventually set, so the creasing didn’t keep going and going, and there was very faint creasing apparent after nine hours of wear.

Star Gold looks perfect for a one & done eyeshadow look! I would love it more if I believed that it was as water resistant as a ColourPop SSS, though, and I have a feeling it may not be?
They are both gorgeous shades, a shame that the rose gold shade isn’t quite as good as the Star Gold.
But they are both so dupable and the colours live in lots of palettes.
Hmmmm…love Star Gold but it looks exactly like my Jordana Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadow in Uphold Gold which I bought for about $5 (and it really is crease proof, easy to apply, supersaturated, ultra metallic and lasts until I take it off!)
Rose Gold is so pretty, wondering if it will crease over primer
I have not had much success with this formula. I have 3, I believe, including Rose Gold and whether I use primer or not, they crease like crazy on me. I don’t have oily eye lids so not sure what the issue is. They also lose the pigmentation as the day goes by so that lighter shades are virtually non-existent on my lids after a few hours. The colours are pretty so I was hoping they would work for me but they just don’t.
They’re so pretty initially but I’ve definitely had longevity issues with the formula over time (some are better than others).
