Best Products of the Week | Vol. 325
Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

Your skin tone/coloring: light, MAC NC 20
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I’ve been trying out older palettes and still seeing if I want to keep them. I picked up Too Faced Semi Sweet and quite enjoyed the neutrally taupey look I did. Reminded me of how nice TF can be though there are some shades in that palette that don’t make sense to me lol
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Bareminerals Complexion Rescue
Any products you want to use next week?:
My PML palettes I picked up for Black Friday
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I did a fun turquoise look (inspired by the BH Cosmetics palette and a lovely, vintage ring I have) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXbU_aSrPSi/?utm_medium=copy_link
As well as a pretty plummy look: https://www.instagram.com/p/CXjGSUZrp2x/?utm_medium=copy_link
What was the hero product of the week for you?: probably my Missha BB Cream, and PMGL Lust Gloss in Divine Rose.
Any products you want to use next week?: I’m still working up the courage to use my Beauty Bay Age of Opulence palette, so maybe that? But also, the Viseart palette I just got and my ND Zendo palette.
Seeing your looks on Instagram gives me inspiration. I generally take a 5 minute Insta moment at night and quite often find an interesting, beautiful look from you.
Skin tone: Very fair with neutral undertones, dark brown eyes and grey hair.
Favorite makeup look this week: I was auditioning makeup for a Christmas party I am not attending!! Seriously, I played with a lot of party looks with absolutely no intention of doing a holiday party as people in Montana, in rural areas, don’t do holiday parties like we do in the big cities. I can remember going to multiple parties before the holidays when I lived in S. Cal and N. Cal. Anyway, I used my same base as I have for most of the past month, the Estee Lauder Futurist Foundation with Dior 999 blush, Becca Pearl highlighter and I did powder down the periphery of my face which is the exact opposite most people do but I wanted the dewy look on the high points of my face. For my eyes, I used 3 shades from the very old Too Faced Natural Eyes palette. This is a great palette for neutral shadows for my fair complexion. So, I used Strip Poker over the eye up to the crease. In the crease I used Cashmere Bunny and under the brow bone I used Heaven. Then in the halo eye position I used Magic Hour from the Jouer Skinny Dip palette. I don’t love this palette as I get a lot of fall out from it but I do use it occasionally. For my lips I used Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red lip pencil followed by the same in the lipstick. I tapped a bit of PMGL Lust Gloss in the shade Earth Angel. Of course, I dowsed myself in MAC Fix Plus and I also used Meteorites in the shade Claire. I have been using the Meteorites all over my face, spray with Fix Plus and then after that dried, using the Meteorites again. I like the almost luminescence it gives my skin but I realize it is a bit of overkill for the wilds of Montana.
Products I am looking forward to using next week: I wish that I could plan on using my new ColourPop Jelly Much shadows but even if they do come in time, I am likely not going to be here. I am also interested in picking up the palette that is dropping on December 26 from PMGL which was inspired by the series Bridgerton . Of course, if I am lucky enough to get it, I won’t receive it for awhile.
Party makeup for parties not held or attended is such a fun way to play with makeup.
After moving from a big city to a very small village I know exactly what you mean about overkill. These days I do my best looks just for walking the dog and at night I use my few fun lipsticks like OCC Pagan no one will see me and get scared of the weird city girl. 🙂
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I used a couple of the soft chamgagne shades from Glam and layered bareMinerals Spectacular over the mobile lid. I had used this beautiful olive green shade for quite some time and it reminded me of how good BM’s ready eyeshadow formulas were. It was part of a duo called The Scenic Route. I paired it with Maybelline’s Mauve for Me lipstick.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Lorac’s Noir
Any products you want to use next week?: Not quite sure yet – it depends on the weather…
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Was an odd revelation, but turned out beautifully!
Eyes: Mostly ND Retro Midi palette. After laying down my usual MAC Orb browbone shade, I attempted to use Vivienne as my transition, but there wasn’t anything all that different in depth than Orb, so I used it over it, then Go-Go for transition, Amara for crease and lower outer 2/3 lashline, Patty inner 1/3, Glittz for tearducts, switched over to SG x Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels using Meadowhawk on most of my mobile lid, Marvel on inner lid, used Sephora Flirting Game to line mid lower lid after using Smashbox Always On Eye Pencil in Fishnet for both upper tightline and outer lower lashline, KVD Tattoo Liner and my Kiss Me Heroine Make Long And Curl Waterproof Mascara.
Cheeks: Becca Malibu Soleil bronzer, Hourglass Surreal Effect blush, Ofra Covent Garden highlighter.
Lips: MAC Heart Goes Boom lipstick, blotted.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Natasha Denona Retro Midi palette!
Any products you want to use next week? ND Retro Midi palette and Menagerie Flight Club palette! I’m really feeling the purple/pinky lilac eye looks right now. Especiallly, because 🦇💜🦇
Purple/pinky lilac is always right!
I have to check my Retro palette and photos of the Tiny Marvels to better imagine the look. It sounds like you had fun with the makeup.
Your skin tone/coloring: Above, grey-green eyes, dark brown hair.
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I did two easy looks using Terra Moons Dirty Martini on the outer two thirds of the mobile lids and Caesium on the inner third and the inner corner. I used some brownish shade in the crease toned out to nothingness up toward the browbone. I used a satiny blush and a very little amount of Becca Pearl highlighter and Glowing Jen on the lips.
The next day, yesterday I used Terra Moons Star Sign as a one and done eye makeup with a tiny bit of a dark blue eyeliner at the outermost corner, going up in a tiny flick. Black mascara, a cool toned blush and again Becca Pearl, how I love this highlighter!
I’m sure I also used a lipstick, a pinkish one I think. I was so mesmerized by the eyeshadow I can’t recall much else. 😀
Base both days MAC powder foundation, and I set with CT Airbrush something.
I must say I’m happy with my little Terra Moons haul, I just got four eyeshadows, but they are very impactful.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Terra Moons eyeshadows, please don’t ask me to pick just one!
Any products you want to use next week?: Terra Moons Purple Clouds eyeshadow, ND Glam and Retro. I’ll also test out the rest of my old liquid lipsticks.
