MAC x Keith Haring Viva Glam Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Red Haring
MAC Red Haring Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a bright, medium cherry red with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte to satin finish. The lipstick had a lightweight, lightly emollient texture that glided on without tugging but never slid around during wear.
It was richly pigmented with coverage that went on evenly and stayed on well for over six hours. The product left a stain behind and felt slightly hydrating over time.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Red Haring
LELimited Edition. $19.00.
St Marks Yellow
MAC St. Marks Yellow Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark yellow with warmer undertones and a frosted finish. It had semi-sheer, somewhat buildable color payoff paired with a lightweight, slightly thinner texture that had enough slip to glide on without tugging.
The downside to the product was that it was very prone to catching around texture imperfections (like flakes) and getting into my lip lines, so it never looked even. It lasted for four hours and was non-drying.
It is a charitable product with 100% of the selling price going to charity, so if you’re someone who likes to mix and match their lip colors, this could be a fun primary color to play with.

Canal Blue
MAC Canal Blue Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly and wasn’t prone to catching on lip texture or settling into my lip lines.
The texture was moderately firm in the tube but not stiff to work with. It wore well for five hours, left a purplish stain behind, and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Red Haring is the most perfect tone of true cherry red! I intend to buy it, keep it in the fridge until masks are no longer mandatory on public transportation or medical facilities. And then, I’m going to rock this beauty!
Yey so happy you reviewed these! A bit sad about the yellow lipstick, because I’m intending to buy all three, the collector in me is going berserk), but have you layered any of the lipsticks? Do they mix well on the lips?
The yellow is still a pain, but it depends on how much you apply and with what!
Good point about mixing with the primary colors!
Red Haring is a gorgeous red shade, but I’m afraid that the yellowy shade looks quite average.
Oh dear….that yellow is quite ugly and that blue could’ve been tweaked a bit. I see why Ulta is only offering the red shade for sale. It caught my eye, but I can see now it’s a big “tomatoe-y” for me.
Canal blue is such a good shade of blue. Nice color to play around with or wear on its own if you’re much bolder than I am. Aside of the “yellow”, it’s a nice collection. If the yellow were more a little more primary and pigmented, that’d be a win too.
I love that red!
I’m absolutely going to buy it, it’s perfect. And it’s a Viva Glam, I try to buy as many of the releases I can, after all the money comes to a good charity.
I like the blue, but can’t wear that type of blue and anything yellow makes me look very, very sick. Still it’s fun to see interesting colours.
