Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Look you loved this week?: minimal face – skin care topped with MAC MSF Natural and Pro Longwear concealer under my eyes, MAC Craving on lips, Sweet Sentiment blush and, on eyes, Naked Lunch on inner 1/3, the brown side of Illusionary/Burning Ambition MES on outer 2/3 and into outer crease; Sephora Cappucino liner – that’s about it. It was easy and pretty.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: An old favourite – the Burning Ambition side of that e/s duo. I was reminded of why I loved it so much. I wonder if MAC will do any more Mineralize Eyeshadows – some of them were abysmal but a lot of them were fantastic (anyone else remember Golden Gaze???)
Any product you’re hoping to use next weeks: MAC Dubonnet lipstick, if I can find it!
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair
Look you loved this week: A really quick and easy look for work… EYES—Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Cobblestone in crease and bottom lash line, MAC Eyeshadow in Grain on lid, Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Cool Grey, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara. FACE—Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather. LIPS—MAC Craving.
Any new favorites discovered: Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Cobblestone (it’s so versatile)
Any product you’re hoping to use next week: Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Steeletto Eyeshadow Palette (finally bought it last week, but I’ve been sick with a cold, so I haven’t had the chance to use it yet)
MAC Craving is one of my 2 most used lipsticks – if they ever discontinue it (as they tend to do with almost all my favourites), I’ll be really upset! I just nominated Grain in the Best Neutral Eyeshadows listing (or maybe I tried to but was informed that I already had done this!) Grain and Era are both such good colours.
I picked Grain for best neutral eyeshadow, too. I have Era, but I haven’t found a way to use it that works well. It’s one of those products that seemed like a good idea when I bought it, but it never gets used.
I actually prefer Era to Grain – I got Grain because the other colour I wanted was sold out but I have come to like it a great deal. Regarding Era, though, I like it all over my mobile lid on “no makeup” days (like when I’m at the gym) to cover discolouration/even out the skin tone of my lids and to brighten them somewhat. It has a bit more pigmentation than Grain but is similar in its neutral subtlety.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name! (Blue-green eyes)
Look you loved this week?: Got a lot of compliments on a look I did using almost all Pat McGrath in my eyes. Mostly Midnight Sun and Gigabyte from Subversive.
Taboo transition, Vermilion Venom to deepen up the crease, Wicked Envy mobile lid blended upwards and outwards and also along lower lashline, Jubilee inner corners on top of Skinshow Moon Glow, Gigabyte pressed onto inner lid over Wicked Envy, UD 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stash on lower lashline, my usual mascara and eyeliner.
Cheeks: Becca Malibu Soliel bronzer, Tarte Paaaarty and Marc Jacobs Jet Girl Luminizer, and a little bit of ABH x Amrezy on cupid bow, nose and tops of cheekbones.
Lips: Nyx Earthtone Slim Lip Pencil, PMG She’s Heaven Luxetrance Lipstick.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: Nothing I can think of off the top of my head!
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Oh yes! I’m hoping I’ll have my PMG x Star Wars Dark Galaxy palette in my greedy Sithy hands! Hahaha! ?
Skintone – I wear Medium Neutral Kat Von D Lock It Foundation and Ginger Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue.
One day I wore Colourpop SS shadow Birthday Cake all over my lid, NYX Spanish Rose Blush, MAC Dare You and MAC Glass Heel lipgloss on top. My eyes looked really awake. The lipgloss was not great on top of Dare You though because it washed the colour out so I reapplied Dare You alone.
Next week I plan on the final push for my panning projects so won’t rotate anything else in. I am really hopeful of finishing my MAC Glass Heel lipgloss.
I was panning a deluxe sized Laura Geller highlighter called Gilded Honey earlier in the year but put it away because I was then working on my Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick and didn’t need more shimmer. Brought this back our this week and remember how pretty it is. No new favourites. I have a Bare Minerals advent calendar but am saving most items until the New Year. I will be opening a new mascara today though.
?Your skin tone/coloring: Neutral leaning cool – pinky peach with a bit of olive
?Look you loved this week?: ND Safari look, the cooler tones as the anchor and hot bright for contrast and a PMG VR shade to special it up. Safari: Lotus transition, Maasai crease and lower lash line, Voodoo smoked shadow wing upper lash and lower lash liner, Tribe mobile lid, an awesome burnt orange, a mix of malia and aya for browbone. PMG Divine Rose VR rose venus, the tangerine shimmer for inner third. I lined my inner third rims with a shimmery peach Zoeva pencil for added brightness. I loved how this rosy orange eye look turned out. I couldn’t believe I was wearing orange and it looked good!
?Any new or old favorites discovered?: Zoeva Myth pencil. I hadn’t been wearing it, but it’s a gorgeous light shimmery beige colour and so beautiful for defining the inner third of my eye. Myth is chameleon like and reads gold on others but pulls more light shimmery peach on me.
?Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: I want to further explore Safari and Biba palettes. I love having this new slew of mostly mattes. I’m using these ND mattes with Nars Soft Matte as a base. On my first try with these palettes, I found my usual ABH eye primer made my lid too dry. I have dry complexion and mature skin texture on my eyes for reference.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.
Look you loved this week?: I used my new Kaleidos Makeup Futurism I: Sci-Fi Green palette this week and I REALLY loved how the look turned out. I used every single shade from the palette and got a very metallic olive green eye with smoky outer corner, then paired with plum blush and Nivea Blackberry Lip Care. I don’t know why, but I love the color combo of olive greens and plums so much. I felt really pretty that day.
Any new or old favorites discovered?: My Kaleidos Futurism palettes have become some of my most favorite palettes. The metallics are absolutely ridiculously metallic and the mattes are just creamy dreamy. I also have been using my CoverGirl + Olay Advanced Radiance foundation lately and it’s really lovely on my skin.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week? I want to use my Kaleidos palettes more. I also got a hair waver for Christmas, so I’m hoping to rock some very wavy hair this week.
