Best of Chanel Spring 2020 Colour Collection

Here’s your recap of all of the Chanel Spring 2020 Colour Collection reviews! Despite its powderiness, I really enjoyed Eclat du Desert once applied–it just sits so well on my skin. I hope to see Chanel create more shimmery shades like the fourth shade in Warm Memories; it was slightly different than most of the brand’s powder eyeshadows. I also liked the liquid eyeshadows overall, though I am someone who uses five dozen eyeshadows in a single look, so me in another life might have really gravitated toward them for less complex looks.

Chanel Spring 2020 Colour Collection Swatches

Chanel Spring 2020 Colour Collection Swatches
Only Rayon and Vastness have any little smidge of my interest. Both look like they’d be a good fit in my stash, Rayon for inner corners and tearducts, Vastness all over the lid as a one ‘n done…well almost. I’d have to go in with some MAC Kid to give it a nice matte to blend and meld with.
I really wish Warm Memories would have had more oomph, though. Love its color story!
I think the hero pieces of this collection are the liquid eyeshadows – such stunningly beautiful shades with great ratings too.
The big disappointments are the eye quads, as Nancy above put it so eloquently – they really lacked ‘oomph’.
Thank you for the reviews Christine.
Compared to the excitement the Chanel holiday collection generated in me, this is a total fizzle.
I think the warm memories quad is just so beautiful! The Vastness liquid shadow, too.
I’ve been obsessed with the romantic muted colors in this collection. I love bright pigmented shades at times but muted colors are so beautiful to bring out a persons natural beauty which is what makeup does best IMO.
I got rising sun and the warm memories and the highlighter then ordered the elemental quad and quartz rose. I am contemplating rayon. This collection along with the Sring Dior has me!??
I caved and picked up Eclat du Desert illuminating powder. I read it kicked up in pan. I haven’t personally experienced that, but I’ve been going in with softer brushes as a result. In any event, I swatched this immediately after I received it and felt a bit disappointed. Then I actually wore it, and it’s truly beautiful. I wear it generously almost like a loose powder, over my blush higher on my cheeks/cheekbones, swept up into it temples and it’s rather magical actually. For totally ethereal cheeks, I wear Sydney Grace Paris Skies (I seriously have to buy a backup) on cheeks with Eclat du Desert a little higher on on cheekbones. It’s that mix of cool and warm.. gets me every time.
Ooh, I will have to try this combo!!
I think Eclat du Desert is one of those products that looks so good ON – something about the formula and how it interacts with skin, I guess… but so glad you are loving it, too! 🙂
I think that combo would look fantastic on you. Eclat du Desert is insanely good on the skin. Words fail me to describe how the finish makes it special. When I swatched it on my arm, it look like a plain light to mid-tone peach powder; not particularly shimmery, nor matte. I almost sent it back, but then I revisited your post and Pearl’s recommendation, and I thought I should give it a chance beyond a sad little arm swatch ?
