bareMinerals The Royal Court Ready Face Color Trio Review, Photos, Swatches
bareMinerals The Royal Court Ready Face Color Trio
bareMinerals The Royal Court Ready Face Color Trio ($29.00 for 0.42 oz.) is a limited edition, slim set of cheek colors–highlighter, blush, and bronzer–for the holidays. I tried to calculate the value, but I’m not sure if these products are sold individually, so for the highlighter and bronzer, I used the Ready Luminizer Duo and the Ready Bronzer for calculations. There is $11.20 worth of highlighter, $15.33 worth of blush, and $11.20 worth of bronzer, which is a total of $37.73 (bareMinerals lists it as $49.50 value, which it may very well be, given the formulas aren’t quite translating).
Clear Radiance is a light, pale pink with subtle, cool undertones and a luminous sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, smooth, and blendable texture that didn’t emphasize pores and lasted for eight and a half hours on me (a little longer than eight-hours claimed). Giorgio Armani No. 07 (P, $62.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Gleamer (LE, $29.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Play It Proper (LE, $22.00) is cooler (95% similar). Laura Geller Charming Pink (P, $26.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Clinique Ballerina Pop (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Guerlain Carousel (LE, $65.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Makeup Geek Glitz (P, $20.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Smashbox Petal Metal (LE, $39.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). Golden Gate is a muted, medium rosy pink with a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that was buildable to mostly opaque coverage. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and easy to blend on the skin. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading (bonus: bareMinerals only markets these as eight-hour wear, how reasonable!). Tarte Prim (LE, $29.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC Blushbaby (P, $24.00) is darker (90% similar). Hourglass Euphoric Fusion (P, $38.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Warmth is a medium-dark brown with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation with a blendable consistency, but I found the powder itself to be a little firmer in the pan than I’ve encountered previously in the Ready formula. The color wore well for seven and a half hours on me. By Terry Light & Tan Vibes #6 (LE, ) is darker, warmer (95% similar). Stila Sending My Love Bronzer (LE, ) is darker (95% similar). ColourPop Paradise Cove (P, $8.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Refined Golden (P, $28.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Zoeva ND020 (PiP, ) is lighter (90% similar). Becca Bronzed Bondi (P, $38.00) is cooler (90% similar). Laura Mercier Bronze (04) (P, $40.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). MAC Earthnut (LE, ) is glossier (90% similar). This is really nice and reasonably priced!
It is!
Not the most exciting colors, but they look very wearable, nice for an understated professional office look
I believe they took their best-selling loose colors and made them in the Ready formula, so that would explain why!
I love BareMinerals, but I’m passing on this set. Although Golden Gate is very pretty, I have the other two products in loose form. I rarely use them. Clear Radiance just doesn’t do anything for me. I mainly use the loose version for mixing with matte loose shadows if I want a different finish. Warmth is way too dark and warm, not matter how tiny of an amount I use. I’ve tried just a few specks of it around the edges of the face (the “E” shape) as BareMinerals suggests, and it’s still overwhelming on my fair skin.
Gotcha! If you have the loose and rarely use it, then that makes sense to me!
I think these work well on those who have your skintone, NC25-30, or lighter, but would barely do a thing for someone my skintone or for that matter, anyone above a MAC NC35 or NW30. Especially since the bronzer is lighter than Nars Laguna!
This one is so light and a bit too subtle for many of us, I would think.
I agree that it will not work on all skin tones!
I am NC40 and have all three of these products in the loose powder version. They all seem to show up pretty well on my skin tone. Golden gate is actually one of my favorite blushes because it’s so natural. You should still check it out because they’re all gorgeous shades!
I like this and think it’d go well on my fair skin but I’ve already got a dupe in Tarte Prim for the pink shade and I have Mary-Lou Manizer as well. Added to that, I have the Despair NARS palette! It’s very tempting though…
Sounds like you are covered 😉
If warmth wasn’t so orange I’d consider picking this one up! Nice quality and a good price!
The price is great!
These are very wearable. I have a different Bare Minerals 3 pan palette that came in a QVC set. I wear it all the time.
Awesome! They do some nice powders!
Just looks beautiful on you Christine and I love your eye makeup. I think the last colour would be a tad too orangey on me.
Aww, thanks a lot, Genevieve!
That is sooo pretty.
It’s a cute set!
You can buy these individually but its loose powder. They are $20 each. Warmth you get .05oz the other 2 are .03oz. I love the ready formula and it’s not as messy. This is a really great value. Getting a lot of product compared to the loose form.
It is definitely more than the loose form, but I think they tend to add more binder/filler to pressed products!
Love the eye look! I’ll skip this Trio.
Thanks, Denise!
I know… I’m supposed to be focusing on your cheeks… but I can’t! Your eyes are stunning! You make that ABH palette look amazing! I just ordered mine. =)
As for the bareMinerals palette, that luminizer is lovely. I don’t think the other two would work so well for me.
Aw, thank you Cat! 🙂
I have the loose version of Clear Radiance and don’t use it much since it doesn’t show up on me. You can see the odd fleck of shimmer but that’s about it. It’s pretty swatched but not on my face! 😛
I’m surprised you don’t see the shimmer! Though I don’t think I’ve used the loose.
Wow, bare minerals seems to have put out some of the better holiday palettes this year. Nice to see something that is so practical and performs well at this price point. If I didn’t have so many dupes already, I would probably grab this one.
I like their Ready like a lot! 🙂 It seems to be fairly consistent.
