Sephora Lip Last Matte Lipsticks Swatches
Sephora Lip Last Matte Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.06 oz.) released last week with 20 shades. The formula is supposed to have “rich, opaque color with a long-lasting, transfer-resistant wear.” It is designed to set in “5 to 10 minutes” — all swatch photos were taken 10 minutes after applying (and not all of them were fully set, though I noticed that a slight sheen could occur while the formula seemed transfer-resistant). Here are swatches of all 20 shades!
Thank you for the swatches!
I feel like Sephora’s house brand of liners and lip products is rock solid (not a fan of much else). Unlike Ulta, which basically sells garbage – as far as my personal experience goes – I always feel like I’m getting a quality lipstick or liner from them and might have to snag a couple of these.
Another brand that has excellent lipsticks is the Colour Pop Lux lipstick line. I have several of their lipsticks and I find them the absolute best. I also have some of the lipstory ones too, but the CP ones are creamier and more hydrating. The brand often has sales too and they ship (at a reasonable price) anywhere.
I’ve been curious about their lipsticks, but not being able to see them in store makes it hard for me to bite the bullet. I have a couple of their long white tube lipsticks (lippie stix?), and I like them, but I don’t love them. To be fair, the last thing I need is more lipstick which is more or less why I impose the “see it in person” rule. Especially now that we’re wearing masks in public my lipstick collection looks so sad gathering dust!
The lux lipstick cream finish (not lux blur) is better than the lippie stix in my opinion. They really do have great pigmentation, staying power and feel. I had MAC and Urban Decay lipsticks and I got rid of most of them in favor of Colourpop’s lux lipstick when I downsized. Buy one in a shade you would typically wear and see for yourself. (They do have Colourpop Lux lipsticks in some ulta stores.)
Transfer resistant sounds good for our current mandatory mask situation. When I wore CP Mrs. Ultra Satin Lipstick yesterday under my mask, I had zero smudging onto my surrounding areas of my face. I imagine that these would be equally effective. I’m loving the shades Plum, Orchid, Rosewood and Sienna.
Flamingo and Auburn are really speaking to me! I’ll be curious to hear more of your thoughts on this formula, if you choose to move forward with full reviews.
I am liking Spice and Auburn myself – there’s a good mix of shades here and they do all look vibrant.
I wish there was a lipstick release that had some unique colors. Maybe I just have too much makeup, but I feel like all these new releases are so unoriginal. I want to see some colors I don’t already own!
Same. At this point, it is usually the finish which looks newer, better, higher quality rather than colour. Sometimes this makes me sad.
I agree. I personally want to see pearl finish again. I want a rosy or peachy shade with gold pearl. Or a dark plum with deep pink pearl.
Some lovely colors here. Not sure about the texture of some swatches, they almost appear chunky? Definitely interested in your thoughts. I really love Sephora’s cream lip stains and their discontinued tints were excellent.
Loving those browns!
