Best of Summer 2020: YSL Rouge Volupte Shines & Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks
Here’s a recap of the 14 more recently released, limited edition YSL Rouge Volupte Shines ($38.00 for 0.15 oz.) and coordinating Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.).
A lot of the shades performed well–in line with how they were marketed and consistent with their respective formula, generally–but I think seeing the late spring and early summer Rouge Volupte Shines together just emphasizes how much overlap there can be. For the most recently released four, it would have been nice to see great variety – perhaps leaning toward more of a coral or orange tone rather than more reds. The Rouge Pur Couture shades are more pigmented (as intended), so the differences are more obvious, at least!

I concur that YSL ought to have had far better variety, especially for a summer set of shades. That said, I do love a few of these. In particular, Take My Red Away and Red In The Dark Rouge Volupte Oil-In-Stick lipsticks.
Colors aside, I do love their formulas, I’ve never been disappointed with YSL’s lip products.
Just love this orange red lipstick line – vibrant shades. Light Me Red and Take My Red Away are my firm favourites. These lipsticks looks so creamy and hydrating and I think they are worth the money.
