YSL Light Me Red & Take My Red Away Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Light Me Red (119)
YSL Light Me Red (119) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium-dark red with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips in one layer. The consistency felt lightweight, creamy without being too slippery, and was easy to work with. The lipstick stayed on nicely for five and a half hours, left a faint stain behind, and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.13 oz. - $292.31 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "rich color with intense hydration ... in just one stroke." The lipstick has moderate slip--some shades are fairly emollient and can feel slippery during wear, while many are creamy but adhere well enough.
I've found that more mid-tone and deeper shades have better applications with smoother, more forgiving color that was semi-opaque or higher in coverage. Some of the lighter and the very deepest shades were more prone to settling into lip lines or yielding more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
The wear ranged from four to six hours on average. I found the formula was usually on the hydrating side. There was a sweet, floral scent with a very subtle taste, though I felt like it sometimes gave me a taste and other times, I didn't notice anything.

Light Me Red (119)
LELimited Edition. $38.00.
Take My Red Away (120)
YSL Take My Red Away (120) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep, reddish-orange with moderate, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which glided across my lips comfortably and did not tug.
The texture was creamy, lightweight, and not too thick or too thin, so the color sat fairly well on my lips. I noticed very slight color that sank into my deeper lip lines in the close-up photo but it wasn’t enough to be visible in person. It lasted well for five hours and felt hydrating while worn.

These both appear to be very rich and sumptuous shades of “red”. I love both, but having both Bite Hot Harissa and MAC Hot Like…, I do believe I’m set. But the richness of this formula has me so tempted!
Both these red shades are divine – by I think I love Take My Red Away that bit more. A gorgeous shade.
