Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, s&p hair

Look you loved this week: I only wore makeup once this week, for a Zoom meeting. EYES: MAC singles (Satin Taupe on lid, Haux in crease), Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Mushroom on lower lash line; Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara; and Benefit Goof Proof Brow and Precisely My Brow Pencils (one to shape, the other to fill in). FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder, Hourglass Mood Exposure Blush, Laura Mercier Baked Bronzer 02. LIPS: MAC Lipstick in Mehr.

Any new or old favorites discovered: MAC Mehr lipstick. It’s a shade I haven’t worn in ages, but I wore it this week and love it again.

Any product you’re hoping to use next week? Nope. I haven’t given my makeup much thought, really.

Any new or old favorites discovered?: No

Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: My new brights palettes. I’m in the mood for brights.

You certainly do find your indies and internationals. Pretty palette; interesting that they took the horns off for the shade names. (For people like me that don’t know the brand, the Unicorn palette’s shade names are all horse breeds/types. Clever.)

Skin tone: Under my name.
Look I loved: I started with my YSL Cushion foundation in the shade 010 and the YSL Touche Eclat concealer in light. I applied Fenty Blush in the shade Strawberry Drip and lightly powdered with Bye Bye Pores powder from IT Cosmetics. I used Becca Pearl highlighter. I had not used my Give Me Glow palette in Vintage Rose in quite awhile so I dug that out and used the two green, two purple and two rose coloured shades to complete my eye look. I used the Becca Highlighter for my inner corner highlight and I used Rouge Bunny Rouge Sheer Dew Lipstick in Jasmine Weighted Air over MAC Lip Pencil in Night Moth.
New or old favorites: I hadn’t used the Vintage Rose palette in awhile so it was a rediscovery that I am enjoying using again.
Use next week: Nothing in particular. Since everyday is pretty much the same, I haven’t been planning very far ahead!!

Your skin tone/coloring: Very light, cool yellow. Dark brown eyes, dark brown hair.

Look you loved this week?: I pulled out ND Sunrise and did a look with the yellow and orange in it. It actually didn’t come out too bad on me! I am shocked. Normally oranges make me look ill.

Any new or old favorites discovered?: New(ish) favorite: rom&nd Dry Buckwheat palette. It’s very basic but it’s so smooth. I don’t like wearing very colourful eye shadow when I have my contacts in and this is perfect for it. An old favorite would be Persona Identity. I had forgotten how smooth and easy to use this one is. I will have to start using it more (when I have contacts and a mask on).

Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: ND Tan. The new one made me pull this out because I’m afraid of applying too much and it being too dark. I want to try and see if I can make it work.

Not totally off topic, but….clearly there’s a lot more time amongst us to google less well known m/u. There’s a vintage rose by Morphe, by Give Me Glow, and by Jacy. Somehow I segued over to reddit swatchitforme, and saw Pat 5 vs. abh Jackie Aina, and to outdo Pat’s lipstick cases, The British Museum collection has a Bastet, an Ankh, and an Eye of Horus. The packaging alone is worth the price of admission. There’s a lot of unique product out there, and if I were young, I’d go independent only for point m/u.

kjh Avatar

Exactly. The packaging is TDF. The lipstick cases impressed me. The one eye palette open for shades did not. I’d drive out of state (unless I faced 14 days quarantine) to check ‘em out and probably catch ‘em all. Good thing Zeesea is not readily available.

I think they do restocks on Friday? It’s a great palette. Their mattes are a bit on the drier side but they blend nicely. Their Christmas palette is really nice too.

Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones

Look you loved this week?: I had quite a few – but my favourite this week was when I used the Sultry palette, with Ember all over the lid, Steampunk on the lower lid, with a darker olive green shade from Lancome’s Jade Fever like an eyeliner. I paired it with Maybelline’s Spice for Me lipstick.

Any new or old favorites discovered?: Not really, just mixing and matching all my palettes of autumnal hues.
Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: Probably more of the same.

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green/gray/blue eyes, warm brown hair.

Look you loved this week?: On Friday, I did a very light look using a couple of peachy shadows and a greeny-gold duochrome with a wing that I really loved! Here’s the link if you want to see!

Any new or old favorites discovered?: Just the style of eyeshadow I did in the look above. I really liked how light and summery it was… I’m a girl that enjoys a deepened outer V, so it was hard for me not to do that with that look, but I felt really pretty and summery that day, even though it was a style that I wasn’t used to.

Any product you’re hoping to use next week?: My Menagerie Cosmetics Pastel Pup and Violet Ink palettes came in! I can’t wait to put them alllllll over my face!

Lt to med/red u/t. Haha, rediscovered the KVD Esperanza palette (actually, I thought it would match my polo shirt, and it did.) Archangel for main lid, south in the crease, CP LaPlaya outer vee and blended in, SG sea foam for browbone. CP is not the only one to do monochrome! Finished it off with Tarte ?Sugar rush mint liner and Nyx mint julep mascara. No blush, as it was likely I would have to tape my mask to my face. Also used Tarte Mattnificent. And the Color Splash l/s. Remember how good that first collection was? And they are still around. If you aren’t familiar with these, look up the Temptalia swatches. They are at Sephora, but not Ulta. Many blasts from the past live here.

Your skin tone/coloring: Fair neutral N10, dark brown eyes/highlighted bronde hair

Look you loved this week?: I’ve been into the blush and bronzer this week 😉 trying all kinds of warm and cool color combos.

Any new or old favorites discovered? this week I’ve been making a huge effort to dig out my older palettes that lost their ‘shiny new’ feeling a long time ago. Two palettes that have delighted me this week are the Tarte Énergie Noir eye and cheek palette, and the UD On the Run palette in Bailout. They’re both really solid, pretty palettes even if the variety of looks you can create is a bit limited due to the smaller number of shades (it’s crazy to me that I’ve gotten so used to those larger multi-shade palettes)

Any product you’re hoping to use next week? I just got a new foundation, the Maybelline Dream Urban Cover in Classic Ivory. I haven’t used a drugstore foundation in decades… I’ve been searching for an affordable high SPF liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer I can just slap on for the days I’m indoors at home (when I go out I use a separate layer of SPF50 under my powder foundation) I don’t like IT Cosmetics CC cream so I took a chance on the Maybelline, and it’s a winner so far. The finish is a nice satin that looks great on its own without powder. It says full coverage on the bottle but I don’t use a ton so I’m getting a solid medium coverage. I’m blabbing on about this foundation lol but I’m honestly so surprised that it exceeded my (admittedly lowish) expectations.
