Your skin tone/coloring: Next to my name! (blue-green eyes)

Favorite look from the week: A decadently delicious hot cocoa inspired look I did Thursday! Eyes: First, I used all permanent MAC e/s’s to do my crease and lower lashline, Soft Brown transition, Folie crease and to smoke out lower lashline, Handwritten to deepen crease and outer lower lashline, Twinks on lower lashline for a little glow, PMG Skinshow Divine Glow inner tearduct, Metallurgy inner lid, Bronze mid-lid, Copper outer lid, my usual black Essence gel liner, Smashbox Fishnet to tightline, Maybelline Full & Soft WP mascara, and MAC Mole Brown smudged on lower lashline. Cheeks: UD Jawbone, MAC Oh My, Passion intensified with a little Taraji Glow. Lips: Nyx Earthtone SLP, MAC Taraji VG II Lipstick with a small bit of TF Yummy Rummy in the center of my lips.

Your most used product this week: PMG Metalmorphosis MTHRSHP, Bronze Seduction palette, Huda New Nude Palette, MAC Studio Sculpt NC37, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer Medium, RCMA No-Color Powder, WnW Reserve Your Cabana, Maybelline Full & Soft WP mascara, Smashbox Fishnet eye pencil, PMG Omi MatteTrance lipstick, Fenty Gloss Bomb in Universal.

Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Having not delved into many of my deeper lipsticks so far this year, I dug into my stash for MAC Taraji VG II and PMG Strangé LuxeTrance lipsticks this week and fell in love all over again! Oh, and Taraji Glow used sparingly as a toasty red-brown blush is GORGEOUS, which I seem to have forgotten since last using it during summer!
New discovery: Viseart Coy was just delivered to my mailbox today, like a half hour ago. Swatched it, and my oh my, the BEAUTY! ?

You are making me want that Viseart Coy palette, Nancy. Let me know how it works for you. I am limiting myself to only two palettes for this entire year so don’t want to use up one of my precious purchases on something I wouldn’t use. I think this would work for my fair complexion but also want to wait and get a dupe or the actual Smoke Sessions palette from Melt. I saw the upcoming palette from Limecrime, Venus LX2 and it has some pretty brown/green shades so that is a maybe also. I think there is only one matte green shade and the others are all shimmery/glittery so not a dupe for the Melt palette but I might feel better about buying it from Limecrime. I know they had issues years ago but feel like it might be time to forgive and go forward. Anyway, let me know how you are liking the Coy palette.

I think there is a SG Smoke Sessions dupe up. Not that it nec would be cheaper by the singles. I wish Melt would cross the smoke sessions with Gemini for a way green palette.

Deborah S. Avatar

I have to ask, what does SG stand for? Normally I can decipher your shorthand but drawing a blank here!! I agree it would be great if Melt would combine the palettes. I looked at a couple of secondary market sellers and the original SS palette is going for upwards of $250 if new and not swatched. Some of the pictures look like the palette exploded which I know was an issue with some of the shades as they weren’t pressed firmly enough. I wouldn’t pay anywhere near that amount for a perfect palette so don’t know why these people think they will get that, especially since there is every chance that Melt will bring it back. I remember when Dark Matter was sold out they brought it back 100 times, selling out each time and now it is permanent.

Skin tone: Very fair with neutral undertones, dark brown eyes and silver/grey hair.

Favorite look: Again, I haven’t worn much makeup this week. I have only used one palette and it is again, The Pony Glam palette. This palette has been a work horse for me as it is small enough for travel, has a good mix of warm and cool toned browns and beiges and has a pale matte shade that works well as a brow bone shade. I only used the cool toned browns this week and all matte. Haven’t been feeling my usually shimmer shades. As my base I used the Thrive Causemetics BB cream or CC cream, can never remember which it is. I don’t love it so am trying to use it up. The lightest shade is just a little off in tone, it doesn’t have great coverage and it feels a little oily on my skin which is crazy since I have dry skin. Anyway, I apply it and let it set a minute or two and then I go in with my MIBA Cushion foundation in the shade #21. For powder I used the Thrive Loose Powder and I do like that. It seems to give a little pore refining coverage. It was a Thrive kind of week since the only blusher I used all week was the Rosy shade. I like it a lot as it combines a matte rose shade with a shimmery gold shade. The gold shade is too dark for me to pull off as a highlighter but it is nice as a blush/topper built into one product. I used the Stellar concealer. Another product that I am not wowed by. I am thinking about picking up the Jouer concealer when I have used this one up so probably about two years from now!! Normally, I post pictures of my makeup looks on IG but haven’t posted since a while before Christmas. Just no inspiration. I used the ColourPop/Kathleen Lights holiday collab on my lips and went with the Ultra Satin Lip in Lucky Stars. It is a cherry red with cool undertones that pulls a little pink/raspberry on me, which I like. It was comfortable to wear and didn’t bleed into my lip lines which a lot of the mouse type formulas do. It wore surprisingly well on me also as it made it through a meal which is unusual for me.

Most used products: The Pony e/s palette, the Thrive blush and in skin care, the Dr. Jart Cicapair Spray. Not the whole name but something close to that! I can’t find it here in the USA so had it sent from Japan with my most recent Fudejapan order and I am loving it. It seems to calm my skin down and I have needed that this past couple of weeks as I have had a few breakouts, which I don’t normally have. It is very unusual for me to get any bumps so not sure if it is just stress/depression or what. I haven’t been myself since my sister passed away and I think it is just telling on my face.

Beauty discoveries: I used a couple of my daughter’s “Dream Dots” which are little bandaid type pads that go over acne bumps to help clear them up quicker and also keep you from picking at the bumps. They worked like a charm on one really large bump that was in my eyebrow hair and made my eyebrows appear wonky. It felt like one of those cystic bumps that was never going to come to a head and that if you picked at it, would be even larger and would leave a scar. This seemed to draw it to a head and then it was gone so really liked this product. I hopefully won’t have much use for it as I am hoping my skin will settle down.

I tried to look up the Jart Cica spray on Cosdna and no results. Maybe too new…2 pages of a Jart Cicapair. The Cosrx Centella toner spray is #2 in my regular routine. Just wanted to see if the Jart seemed better. Cosrx also has hydrocolloids, which can be needed at any age! I added Acwell 5.5 licorice pH balancing essence mist, but my inflammation goes well beyond the face. The products can damp down my face, though.

I hadn’t seen it anywhere here in the US or on-line but had seen Pony use it in a video for calming her skin and decreasing some of the hyper-redness that we get and since it is dead of winter here in Montana and my skin is chapped I thought I would give it a go. Started trying to find it and couldn’t so asked Toshiya if she could find it and next thing you know, it is arriving in my mailbox. So far, I am liking it but haven’t used enough to really review. Also, everything on the label is written in Korean so I haven’t a clue what is in it!! It is strongly scented as are all the Cicapair items I have checked out.

Your skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look from the week: IT Celebration powder foundation, Clarins concealer; eyes – Smashbox Minimalist palette (Cinnamon on the lid and Nude in the crease), Sephora Cappuccino liner and Marc Jacobs black skinny liner to tightline; MAC Into the Pink blush and Smashbox Red Rage for lips
Your most used product this week: Sephora Cappuccino liner and MAC Craving lipstick (still trying to finish and b2m an almost finished tube)
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Bare Minerals Start Treatment palette (a real oldie) – I pulled it out a few days ago and I’ve used it a few times and can’t get over how much I like it.

Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, salt & pepper hair

Favorite Look: EYES: Laura Mercier Amethyst Caviar Stick in crease*, NYX Worth the Hype Mascara, Diorshow Brow Styler, Clinique Brow Shaper • FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, RCMA No Color Powder, NARS Orgasm Blush • LIPS: MAC Craving

Most Used Products: Just my usuals (I wasn’t in a very creative mood this week.)

Beauty Discoveries: *I bought the LM Amethyst Caviar Stick months ago, but never used it. This week, I found a great way to use it: One swipe in my crease blended out with my finger is a super quick way to add a little depth and a hint of color to my hooded eyes when I’m not in the mood to do eyeshadow.

Seraphine Avatar

When I bought it, the sales associate showed me how to blend it with a small, soft, fluffy brush, but I haven’t tried it that way. I prefer using my finger to get a very sheer wash of color.

Mariella Avatar

Janice – I think I have that same set – all the other sticks in it were pretty identical and flesh toned but the Amethyst one is really nice for me as a “one and done” product.

Your skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin, gray eyes, reddish brown hair with scattered blonde and blue strands
Favorite look from the week: Either my New Year’s Eve look (Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions 5 on outer lid, Huda Emerald 3 on middle lid, Huda Emerald 6 on inner lid, Huda Emerald 9 under eyes, Urban Decay 24/7 Lucky drawn in a Cleopatra style, UD Double Team Deep End mascara, Tarte Unstoppable blush, L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive 403 Eva’s Red lipstick) or my Thursday look, done in Planetary Union colors from that night’s episode of The Orville (KVD Chad on lid, UD Baja in crease, UD Deep End, Tarte Unstoppable, CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte Crimson Cat lipstick).
Your most used product this week: I can’t really pinpoint one.
Any beauty discoveries (new or old): Fenty Pro Filt’r 110 seems to be my all-time perfect foundation match. I was at JCPenney this week for something non-makeup related, so I stopped by the Sephora inside and swatched Fenty Pro F110 on the bottom of my jawline/chin (high enough to match my face, low enough that any breakout or infection-which I’ve been lucky enough to avoid so far-wouldn’t be too obvious). I guess I have to buy it now, because it completely disappeared into my skin!

Get a REAL green mascara, too. I’m the colored mascara ho of the group…and suggest YSL vinyl couture. Pick it up at the Nordie’s 3 for price of 2, summer, I think. Maybe the blue, too! MO is the ysl outshines the UD.

Skin tone : Medium with yellow undertones

Favourite look : am panning my two oldest palettes : Smashbox Full Exposure and NARS Killing Me Softly. I am loving a taupe coloured shimmery shade from the FE palette that I topped with UD YDK. I’ve finished Orgasm this week from the KNS palette and will miss it. Teamed these up with Bobbi Brown Pink lipstick.

The above were my most used products though I’m also panning Marc Jacobs Sonic Truth mini lipstick, Buxom Samantha lipgloss and Charlotte Tilsbury Red Vixen lipgloss so was rotating these but my look above with the B.B. lipstick was my favourite.

Discovered that I do love NARS Orgasm however have a new Hourglass Euphric blush which is very similar.
