8 Budget-Friendly Summer Favorites 2018 | Pink Dreams

Summer Favorites

Pink Dreams

There are so many products available these days, and I thought instead of just rounding up some of my favorites for summer that I would break it down into “sets” with themes, so this set of summer favorites, which I’ve called Pink Dreams, is driven by pinks and slightly cooler tones (instead of the traditional corals we see… and you’ll see those from me soon!). You can view all swatches of all products mentioned here.

Do you have any pink-y favorites that you love wearing in the summer time?  Share in the comments below!

While these are favorites I’ve enjoyed and would recommend, I hope each set I’ve put together also helps inspire you to try certain products, textures, or shades together. Every product I’ve mentioned I’ve reviewed, which means they also have a list of dupes, so you can check your stash for similar shades and put together your own Pink Dreams set with what you have. Pro tip:  refine results to products you have in your vanity (see this post for more info if you’re like, “Say what?”).

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Ironically, I did a very pinky-purpley look yesterday! Used the purple, deep Berry and coral shades from UD BTR on my eyes with some KVD Thunderstruck on my inner lid blended into the dark purple, deepened crease with Punk. Threw MAC Mehr on my lips with a little Tarte RFOTS Fiji on TOP, and Smashbox Rosemantic and KVD Thunderstruck on cheeks. Then I proceeded to just sit home! ?

You Had Me at Hello is such a great palette. I love your choices here.

My favorite summer budget-friendly (I guessed under $20 for the cut-off) pink-ish products:

*My very favorite to wear is Sephora Rouge Cream in Cougar. So much so that I bought back-ups when it was discontinued.

*Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock, $3.50

*UD Sheer Rapture, $18

*UD Firebird, $18

*ColourPop SS Pigment in Slave2Pink (I wear it on my eyes), $5

*ColourPop Pretty Much Pressed Powder Pigment Palette, $12

*Wet n Wild ColorIcon Blush in Fantastic Plastic Pink, $2.99

*Sleek Makeup Blush in Pixie Pink $6.99

*Coastal Scents Revealed 3. It says $29.99 as the price, but it’s almost always on sale for $9.99 – $19.99.

*BH Cosmetics Blushed Neutrals – 26 Color Eyeshadow and Blush Palette, $16 (now on sale for $9). The product photo makes it look incredibly orange and warm, but in real life it’s lighter and cooler with mauves, pinks, and neutrals.

Pinks are tricky for me to pull off with my light, but warm, skin tone. Often red fuchsias work the best.

What I do like to rock in the summer on lips is either Hourglass Girl Stylo in Leader, or Bite Beauty Radish (Radish looks good year round.) For eyes I love Urban Decay Woodstock on the inner corners of my lash line, or Sephora Vampire Lovers, a pinky-plum, as a liner (done ombre style with a copper shadow liner.)

Pink on cheeks I can’t really pull off so well unless I am at my palest in winter.
