Fenty Beauty 7daywknd/Poolside Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo Review, Photos, Swatches
7daywknd/Poolside
Fenty Beauty 7daywknd/Poolside Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo ($36.00 for 0.24 oz.) contains a soft, pinky-lavender and a cooler, mid-tone purple. Layered together, they create a neutral-to-warm, mid-tone purple with a strong, metallic finish. When I applied the deeper shade as a blush and then blended the lighter shade on top as a highlighter, it was extremely metallic and did emphasize my skin’s natural texture (when worn more heavily).

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.24 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy texture" with a "mega-reflective, foil-like finish" that can be used on the "face, eyes, collarbone [or] anywhere you crave a touch of light." The brand described them as "buildable, color-rich luminizers," which seems to indicate the finish is more buildable than the base (as they're touted as "color-rich" in other marketing pieces). The majority of the shades have mostly opaque to opaque pigmentation and have a denser, firmer texture (not stiff, though) that lends itself to lighter-hand application for sheerer coverage if preferred. Most of the shades were pearly to metallic with slight, finer sparkle and didn't emphasize my skin's natural texture. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me with minimal fading over time. As eyeshadows, they performed decently, but a couple of shades had larger flecks of sparkle, which seemed to look more obvious when I tried blending them out as an eyeshadow.

7daywknd
7daywknd is a light-medium lavender with subtle, neutral-to-warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer that was easy to buff and sheer out if preferred. The texture was dense but not stiff, so I could pick up more or less product with ease. It had a strong, metallic sheen on my skin but didn’t emphasize my natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

7daywknd
PiPPermanent in Palette. $36.00.
Poolside
Poolside is a medium purple with strong, cool, bluish undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. It had good color coverage in a single layer, but the texture had chunkier shimmer and was less seamless when applied and blended out. I really had to buff and work the product onto my cheeks to get a more even application, and that seemed to wash away some of the intensity and depth of the color itself (even when I tried it as an eyeshadow and layered it in an attempt to recapture the depth). There was very slight emphasis of my skin’s texture that I could see in person. This shade lasted well for eight hours on me.

7daywknd is very appealing to me but I see I already have a dupe for this so I think it’s safe to pass on it!
Holy wow! Have massively neglected big S, but this could bring me in. And Spectra has to be my all time fave HL. Love the gray in it. Actually, I like this whole subset. Every. Last. One. Nice to know these work well as shadow, too.
Since my original purpose for wanting to get this duo was to use it as eyeshadows, and I now see that I have MAC Ascent Of Glamour and UD Omen, I probably don’t need it. But it’s just so stinkin’ pretty, that it will be hard to resist! ???
Thanks for showing it as eyeshadow too! The pink is lovely and would make a great highlighting blush on me, but the texture on the purple is everything I don’t like in powder-finish product, making it a skip for me!
Very pretty duo and I love the finish.
I didn’t realize this was made for cheeks when I saw it; I thought it was eyeshadow. I’m not sure how I feel about purple cheeks, but the pink is very pretty.
I like this on the eyes but on your cheeks, it looks a lot like a bruise that’s healing up, maybe with some sort of shiny ointment overtop. For me, it’s just not a makeup look I’d be creating on purpose, if that makes any sense.
This is such a pretty duo! I’m loving how metallic it is.
I really respect Rihanna for all she’s done with her makeup and lingerie brands. I think her message of inclusivity really resonates with a lot of people in 2018. And on top of that, most everything with her name on it seems to be good quality. Other celebrity makeup brands need to take notes!
Love your eye look! So perfect for summer. I really don’t need these but I’m really tempted!
