ColourPop x Hello Kitty Tiny Chum, Lock Diary, Surprise Ultra Satin/Metallic Liquid Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Tiny Chum
ColourPop Tiny Chum Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium rosy pink with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a very creamy, light-medium thick consistency that spread evenly across the lips but seemed more prone to sinking into lip lines compared to other shades in this formula. I don’t think it was too noticeable from a normal viewing distance, but it was an area where it could have been better. The color wore well for seven hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.11 oz. - $63.64 Per Ounce
It is supposed to be a “lightweight, bold lipstick with a satin finish”liquid lipstick that is “extra intense colour saturation” and “long-wearing,” but the brand is quick to note that it is “not completely kiss proof.” The consistency is very light to lightweight with a thin to mousse-like consistency–they feel a little heavier going on than the Ultra Matte formula, but they don’t feel heavy on. They dry down somewhat, but it isn’t a full, flat dry down like matte liquid lipsticks, and when you press your lips together, there is moderate tackiness there, but I didn’t notice any lifting or separating of color by doing so.
They have been extremely long-wearing and comfortable to wear for the most part–it’s after ten hours or so that I notice my lips feeling a little dry–but six hours into wear and the colors have looked good post-meals/post-drinking. I think if you like the idea of longer-wearing, mostly matte lip color but find most liquid lipsticks too drying or too flat while not needing an ultra-hydrating formula, you might like these.

Lock Diary
ColourPop Lock Diary Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium-dark raspberry pink with cool undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly.
I noticed that the texture dried down more quickly compared to most Ultra Satins, which have some sheen that lingers for a couple hours, whereas this one had a semi-matte finish within a few minutes. The texture did not seem any different initially–thin but not watery, spread well, and was comfortable on. This shade lasted for seven hours on me, left a stain behind, and was a bit drying after three hours of wear.

Surprise
ColourPop Surprise Ultra Metallic Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium pinky-red with fuchsia and ruby red pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but it was bright enough where it almost didn’t matter because you could barely tell my natural lip color was coming through (my lip freckle was what was most apparent).
The consistency was thin, a little gritty from all the pearl, but it didn’t feel dry or uncomfortable as it “dried.” This formula doesn’t have a totally transfer-proof dry down, so there was a light tackiness during wear, but I didn’t have any issues with color moving or lifting if my lips pressed together. The color wore well for just over six hours, left a stain behind, and was a bit drying after four hours of wear.

Christine, Tiny Chum has the wrong photos and dupes attached. I like Lock Diary a lot, stunning color, but Tiny Chum pulls too light and pink on me
Fixed! So sorry!
I really love Lock Diary and Surprise!
Yay!
Surprise and Lock Diary are pretty but I love Let’s Play even more!
Let’s Play is fun!
I want Lock Diary and Suprise, but I own more than enough bright pinks and reds!!!
You’re safe this time! 🙂
Lovin’ Surprise! Which, ironically was the name of the first “City” that my kids and I lived in when we moved here from NJ 14 years ago, because that’s where my Mom and 2 aunts lived! So I MUST get this one both because it’s beautiful and it represents a new beginning.
I also like Tiny Chum, but it looks a bit too close to my HG MLBB lipstick, MAC Mehr.
Aww 😀 You know, people outside of AZ never believe there’s really a city called Surprise, lol!
Right?!? When my family members told me that they were moving my Mom out here and told me the name of the town, I did NOT believe them at first! 18 years ago, when she moved there, it was nothing at all like now. It was all orchards and farms! And 2 large retirement communities, one of which she, her sisters and their husbands all lived. Sun Village.
I’m SO sad Surprise is out of stock 🙁 I should’ve purchased earlier!
Awww!
I love the way Tiny Chum looks when it’s first applied, but after a few hours it starts turning a purplish-pink just in the center of my lips! It’s really odd.
That is strange! I didn’t have that happen thankfully!
I bought tiny chum as my first ultra satin lipstick, its long lasting, thin and very pigmented. I have no problem with it just I find it looks very different on me than what I expected, the swatches made it look like a nude pink but it looked more purple on me but still I love the color! and am most probably going to get it again <3
For once I am actually glad I bought things before your reviews and swatches because Lock Diary looks way too bright on you for me to want it but on me it’s really quite dark and I’ve surprised myself by loving it. I really wanted Tiny Chum to be a colour I would wear because of the adorable name but that kind of colour makes me look dead. The Colourpop swatches look even more taupe = even more dead!
I like all of them, I like lock diary but I have radish. Surprise might be a contender.
Three really good ones. Maybe I’ll order som Colour Pops for Christmas. I like Surprise most of all, closely followed by Lock Diary.
