Tom Ford Soleil Lip Colors Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Crème Conque (04)
Tom Ford Crème Conque (04) Soleil Lip Foil ($53.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, light-medium pink with warm undertones and multi-colored, almost rainbow-like pearl. I think this is going to look a bit different from person to person due to the coverage level (medium, somewhat buildable), so the natural lip color came through and influenced the end result quite a bit.
The Soleil Lip Foil formula is described as having a “vibrant, reflective-foil finish” that goes on with “smooth, even application for brilliant, luxurious vibrancy.” The lipstick felt smooth, lightweight, and thin against the lips, but it didn’t drag during application and didn’t feel clingy during wear. It lasted for just over four hours and was lightly hydrating.

Venus Rising (05)
Tom Ford Venus Rising (05) Soleil Lip Foil ($53.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright pop of medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and fine gold and pink pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was buildable to nearly opaque coverage, though the natural lip color still came through slightly. The texture felt pearly, where it wasn’t truly smooth, but it did not feel gritty or sparkly, so it glided across the lips comfortably. This shade lasted for four and a half hours and was moisturizing over time.

Seadragon (06)
Tom Ford Seadragon (06) Soleil Lip Foil ($53.00 for 0.10 oz.) id a deep plum with subtle, warmer undertones and a subtly metallic finish with a rainbow of pearl. It had good pigmentation, though it was not full coverage, that went on evenly and smoothly. The consistency was lightly emollient with a little more slip than other shades, but it did not slide around or feather, and despite it being a deeper, less pigmented shade, I didn’t struggle with the color gathering in lip lines over time. It lasted just over five hours on me, left a bit of a stain behind, and was moderately hydrating.

Seadragon is gorgeous and it looks great on you Christine! I really like the rainbow pearl that was added in.
Thank you, Aj!
I love all these I have them but Ive only worn Spanish Flame so far! They look gorgeous on you Christine!!
So glad you got yours! 🙂
All of these are gorgeous! I may have to invest in the dupes though, because $150 for 3 lipsticks is a little too much for this college student.
Dupes aren’t a bad way to go 🙂
I love Sea Dragon! I have TF Velvet Orchid, but it’s a totally different color on me. As for Sea Dragon, I don’t wear metallics that often (still recovering from the ’80s metallics), so didn’t want to spend $53 on one, but might cave if there’s a good deal.
Hopefully, you’ll be able to find a good deal!
I went back and forth on seadragon since I first saw it!! (I am a chronically indecisive individual, lol) I ended up ordering Douglas over Venus Rising, and figured I’d wait for your review for the rest… and now I’m intrigued by Aperture! I like the pearl that you described, it just seemed pretty dark… gah! Tom Ford will be the death of me! (and obv my wallet!)
Aperture is definitely a darker shade!
I really like all three of these, but I was really hoping they were going to be cooler-toned! Since they have warm undertones, I can’t be sure they’ll work on me without trying them… I used to not like ‘frosted’ lipsticks at all, but lately quite a few metallic colors have been calling my name! I think the current metallics are much nicer than the frosted lipsticks I remember from the 1960s…
I think metallics have come back and are a bit finer in overall appearance? Maybe that is why they are working more for you now!
Your makeup is just gorgeous, Christine! I have Seadragon and love that I can make the shade light or intensely dark. Ordered Aperture yesterday. These foils are expensive but worth it when a good deal cones around!
Would love to know the steps for your eye makeup given the 2 glitter shades in the TF cool palette. I have the warm palette but hesitated on buying the cool one.

Many thanks, Christine!!!
OMG. Seadragon is the clear and obvious winner here. At least for my dark tastes, it is! Between this and the wildly intriguing Aperture, I’m getting sucked in…..then again, Sephora’s coupon! Hoping there’s no “exclusions” on it?
Also have got to throw this out here; Creme Conque looks just about identical to a $2 lipstick I wore to death during the early 80’s! I’m absolutely serious! ?
I figured you’d like Seadragon, lol!
I like Seadragon the best out of all of them!!
Lovely choice!
Seadragon is stunning. I was waiting for your reviews and now I feel confident that Seadragon and Spanish Flame are my picks from this release. Off to order them. Thank you, Christine.
My pleasure, Deborah!
These are stunning. I love the pearl; they really glow.
They are nice!
For the pink lovers, these are gorgeous shades. They look as if they have a beautiful finish on them.
They have a great sheen!
I love Creme Conque, I buy “blind” since I’m not in a major market, and I was hoping to see the colour on your lips to see if it would suit me. It’s more than perfect, and you have the most beautiful lip shape, so flawless like a lip model!
Fingers crossed it works for you! 🙂
Thank you!
These are so beautiful! There are so many Tom Ford lipsticks I want really bad but I just can’t make myself pull that trigger. I even had a talk with myself about abstaining from other lipsticks until I’d said no to enough to equal Tom Ford but it didn’t work. I guess I know my cutoff point now. Over $50 is definitely more than my inner miser will let me spend. Even though I really want too!!
Totally understand Bonnie… they are expensive! Maybe you could try one of the Lips & Boys shades to give yourself a taste of the formula without spending over $50!
Well I have Velvet Orchid, so I guess I don’t need Seadragon.
Crème Conque is quite a gorgeous one. The only TF to make it to my wish list in ages. It is a pity the brand is so costly, but sometime now and then I think I can get me a lipstick. I will have to try it before buying, though.
The other ones are quite lovely as well, I might try Seadragon on just to try, when and if I get to the counter before they are gone.
Ooooh, if I get any Sephora gift cards for the holidays, I might have to get Seadragon!
I found Venus Rising sank into my lip lines immediately. I could not believe this lipstick cost so much and sat worse than my $5 NYX one. I only stick it in the center as a highlight now. Everybody else at work I asked did not like it either. We did receive the lipstick as gratis. It is my first Tom Ford item, I’m soured on the line, at the least, I do not feel any of his lipsticks would be worth the price.
They do look much better on you Christine! You are magic!
