8 Budget-Friendly Summer Favorites 2018 | Coral Dreams

Summer Favorites

Coral Dreams

There are so many products available these days, and I thought instead of just rounding up some of my favorites for summer that I would break it down into “sets” with themes, so this set of summer favorites, which I’ve called Coral Dreams, is driven by warmer neutrals, peaches, and corals.  I think the Perception palette is such a fun choice for summer–a few pops of color and lots of your typical summer shades like, gold, bronze, and orange–so it offers more versatility than say Yes, Please (which was the other palette I was considering for this set) overall.  You can view swatches of all the products in this set here.

Do you have any budget-friendly, coral favorites that you love wearing in the summer time?  Share in the comments below!

While these are favorites I’ve enjoyed and would recommend, I hope each set I’ve put together also helps inspire you to try certain products, textures, or shades together. Every product I’ve mentioned I’ve reviewed, which means they also have a list of dupes, so you can check your stash for similar shades and put together your own Coral Dreams set with what you have. Pro tip:  refine results to products you have in your vanity (see this post for more info if you’re like, “Say what?”).

Now we’re talking! Coral and its complimentary colors are a range I do actually have and use often, at every price point. CP Clockwork and Sephora Fairytale are ones from the above list that I have and love. A few other picks of mine are: CP Lux Lipstick in On Repeat, USLS in Mrs. or Lippy Stix in Faded, Essence Satin Coral blush, Nyx Duochromatic Highlighter in Synthetica, CP Yes, Please palette and some of their SSS’s in: Weenie, Buzzin’, As You Wave, Flipper, Coconut and Banana Daiquiri. I’m probably forgetting something!

Coral’s a tough one for me — an entire color family that I’m ambivalent about. Almost never works on my lips (especially the lighter versions), but I have coral blushes and eyeshadows that are fine. So I guess I need to set myself a challenge to coordinate with coral and see what I can come up with that works for my lips while wearing an otherwise mostly-coral face. Maybe purple! 😉

I think peachy lips would look good with coral eyes and cheeks. Same color family, but much softer and more wearable. And you can lean MUCH more neutral with a peachy color if that’s more your lip vibe. But there’s always your purple option too!

You know I love corals! Great list. The teal eyeliner you chose will look fabulous with corals.

Some of my fave budget-priced (less than $20) makeup:

*Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove, $9. This is my all-time favorite coral blush.

*MAC La Vie En Rouge (LE) is my all-time favorite coral lipstick. I wish they’d make the shade permanent.

*Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Color in Purty Persimmon, $2.49

*Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Shocking Coral, $7.50

*MAC Lipstick in Vegas Volt, $18.50

*BH Cosmetics Creme Luxe Lipstick in Coral Escape, $8

*BH Cosmetics Waterproof Lipliner in Playful, $5

*Sleek Blush in Life’s a Peach and Rose Gold, $6.99 each

*ColourPop SS Pigment in Animal, $5

*ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadows in Spoiled and Bratty, $5 each

I do love peachy/coral blushes and the Maybelline Molton Peach looks beautiful to me. The only budget blush I have is the Natio Sunkissed blush/highlighter in peachy/coral shades that can be purchased in Australia for $20, but is often on sale, so I usually get it for around $14.
Love the Sephora eye pencil in Fairytale too.

The Molten Peach is actually a highlight. Very lovely, but very shimmery, so you might not like it as a blush. Overall, though, those Maybelline Molten Chrome highlighters are great in all 4 of their shades.

Colour Pop Perception is a good one as is Sol. I’m trying that one out today. I also grabbed a couple of Amazon steals, DGAFO and Jacob and Eli’s Candy Peaches. Who knew you could get decent makeup at a good price on Amazon? For lips, I grabbed Huda’s Au Natural Nudes. They really aren’t bargain but being that they are minis, maybe it counts?
