YSL Nude Solo, Cacao Bounce, Pink Flow Rouge Volupte Rock'N Shine Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Nude Solo (1)
YSL Nude Solo (1) Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark peach with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly to my lips, but product settled into my lip lines noticeably. The texture was lightly creamy with moderate slip, which I could feel slide around a bit during wear, though the shine seemed to be quicker to wear down. It stayed on well for two and a half hours but felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.12 oz. - $316.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "intense colour" paired with a "high-shine effect" that is hydrating.
The formula is supposed to have "medium coverage" with a "lipstick-meets-balm" that is "deeply hydrating" and offers a "glossy" finish. They offer medium to semi-opaque coverage--slightly buildable at times--with a glossy, luminous finish that made my lips look smoother and plumper. The impressive part is that despite the texture being emollient and balm-like, most shades didn't settle into my lip lines noticeably and applied evenly.
It had a "melting" feel when applied, so I recommend being more conscious of how much one's applying to avoid over-applying. The formula felt lightweight and was lightly hydrating (but not "deeply hydrating") with shorter wear times; three hours for lighter shades and four to five hours for deeper shades.
They had a sweet, fruity scent but no discernible taste.

Cacao Bounce (2)
YSL Cacao Bounce (2) Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, deeper red with warm undertones and a fine, golden pearl throughout its luminous finish. It had medium coverage that could be built up to semi-opaque coverage. The texture was smooth, balm-like–emollient but not too heavy or too slippery–which made it easy to apply and comfortable to wear. It seemed to smooth out some of my lip lines, which was a nice upside. It wore well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing over time.

Cacao Bounce (2)
LELimited Edition. $38.00.
Pink Flow (3)
YSL Pink Flow (3) Rouge Volupte Rock’N Shine Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a lightly pearlized, glossy finish. The texture was emollient with moderate slip, which gave me a bit of streaking along the edges, though it didn’t seem noticeable to me at a normal viewing distance (in person vs. close-up photo) It had medium pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly but had a smidgen of product that sank into my deeper lip lines. It lasted well for three hours and was lightly hydrating while worn.

The only one I really love is Cacao Bounce. That one is just the perfect softer and warmer red than my usual bolder or deeper reds that I typically wear. Very tempting!
Cacao Bounce was the standout lipstick for me out of this group. Lovely shade.
Every once in a while, a shade like Cacao Bounce comes around to remind me about missing Delphine and Codie, especially the latter. Now, to convince myself I don’t need CB, either, lol. I just live for that color family.
The shade names for this line have been reminding me of those Guerlain glosses…specifically, the hilarious “Browny Clap” comes to mind. I wonder why YSL used a similar naming scheme (albeit with less silly results).
