YSL Midnight LA (149) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep red with warmer undertones and a cream finish. The texture was smooth, creamy, and slightly denser/thicker than other shades in the range, though definitely still lightweight and comfortable to wear and to apply. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and lasted well for six hours, while the formula felt hydrating over time.

The formula is supposed to have "rich color with intense hydration ... in just one stroke." The lipstick has moderate slip--some shades are fairly emollient and can feel slippery during wear, while many are creamy but adhere well enough.
I've found that more mid-tone and deeper shades have better applications with smoother, more forgiving color that was semi-opaque or higher in coverage. Some of the lighter and the very deepest shades were more prone to settling into lip lines or yielding more medium to semi-opaque coverage.
The wear ranged from four to six hours on average. I found the formula was usually on the hydrating side. There was a sweet, floral scent with a very subtle taste, though I felt like it sometimes gave me a taste and other times, I didn't notice anything.

YSL Topanga Sunset (150) Rouge Pur Couture SPF15 Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a deep burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up too well as the texture was fairly emollient and more prone to sliding around during wear.
I didn’t experience feathering/bleeding personally, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it occurred for someone more prone to that (I’m not). This shade stayed on well for five hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Got dupes for both. It’s a sad day when you realize that the saturation point has likely been reached in the red and burgundy lipstick domain of ones stash! Probably for a few other tones, too.

What a finish on these! I’m as enamored of these as I am of the Armani Liquids. Maybe that’s the way I rationalize considering something I have dupes for…. Some finishes grab me every time.
