Skin tone/coloring: Light neutral, Estée Lauder Double Wear in Desert Beige, salt and pepper hair, green eyes
Favorite look you wore: Smoky eye using Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Palette, plus UD single eyeshadow in Fireball on my lid for a pop of duochrome color.
Most used product of the week: Not counting the typical products that I use every day of the year (because that would make my answer to this question exactly the same week after week), my most used product was Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Palette.
New beauty discoveries: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipsticks are definitely worth the money!
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: Eyes — UDPP in Enigma. Kat von D Smoke Light + Shade Eye Contour Quad: Contour (crease), Highlight (brow bone), Define (lids) topped with Wet n Wild Color Icon Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow in Mysterious Nights. Laura Geller Diamond Dust (foiled on inner corner). UD 14/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion smudged out with Define along the lower lashline; by itself on top and bottom waterlines. Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara. Cheeks — Tarte Celebrated and Laura Geller Diamond Dust. Lips — UD x Basquiat Vice Lipstick in Abstract.
Most used product of the week: MUFE Lustrous Shadow Palette. I really love the shadows, aside from Pink Chrome. It’s very pretty, but not terribly pigmented. I had to use it wet to get it to look decent.
Any new beauty discoveries: I got my first ever order from Glamtech on Etsy today. I got a beauty blender holder and custom extra-large magnetic palette with a pink unicorn design, and a small palette with silver stars. They’re really well made and pretty. Love them!
Perfect timing again, Rachel. I was just noticing that I need another magnetic palette. I have several open pans floating around in the top drawer of my vanity and I have been working to keep from breaking them. I am going to check out the Etsy shop. Thank you.
Always glad to help! They are similar to Inglot’s freedom palettes in style. (I don’t own any Inglots, so I can’t attest to whether quality is exactly the same.) 🙂 I ordered from them a while a go, but my order got delayed because of the hurricanes. The owner was really good about keeping me in the loop, and gave me a generous coupon to use on my next order to make up for it being late, even though it was not her fault.
My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation N360, deep brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Favorite look you worn: Shopped my stash and put together a Huda Desert Dusk eyeshadow look using what I already owned! The SA’s and MUA’s at that MAC Snowball event complimented me on it, with one even asking me how come I wasn’t working there yet!?! ?
Most used product of the week: Hmm… whatever is purple, I suppose?
Any new beauty discoveries?: Yes, that I should have stayed in the cosmetics industry field of work instead of it just being a short stint in the 80’s. But I lacked self-confidence back then.
Way to go getting compliments from the MUAs!
Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones.
Favorite look this week: It would have to be choosing the less liked looks rather than a favorite one. I just couldn’t get anything to gel this week. I made a conscious effort not to use the Huda Desert Dusk palette as I had used it all the previous week and half of the one before that and wanted to try some different things. I played with a Sleek E/S palette that I had picked up at Ulta and didn’t love any of the looks that I created with it. It was the Vintage Romance palette. All but two of the shades were shimmer. I liked the two matte shades but all of the shimmers applied very muted and even using MAC Fix Plus didn’t help them. They looked vibrant enough in the pans but really muted and dingy looking on the eye. I did pick up the Solstice highlighter palette from Sleek and that I do like. Hopefully a better makeup week next week.
Most used product of the week: I think a toss up between the above mentioned Sleek Vintage Romance palette, the Solstice highlighter palette and the Catrice Nude Illusion Soft Focus Foundation. I am okay with the coverage on this one and the finish is nice but it isn’t light enough and cool enough for my skin tone. I am going to try it with either my Custom Cover Drops and/or Manic Panic White foundation lightener.
New beauty discoveries: Nothing this week. Kind of an odd week for me with Doctor appointments, my nephews death and early onset of winter. Wasn’t much interested in anything beauty related.
My skin tone/coloring: medium with yellow to neutral undertones
Favorite look I wore: I don’t change my look very often anymore. The smoky grays and purples I once wore don’t look good on my aging eyes and since I have given up my contact lenses for glasses, those colors are just too murky under my glasses. So now I wear warm tones pretty much all the time. I have been wearing Chanel Candeur et Experience almost daily with a bit of one of the metallic shades from Viseart Minx II in the inner corners and on my lower lid.
Most used product: I tend to use the same products everyday but this past week I needed more concealer under my eyes. On my lips I used mainly the Fenty gloss and Chanel Mademoiselle. In other words, no darks this week.
No new discoveries this week.
My skin tone/coloring: NC20-NW20.
Favorite look you worn: red-orange lip look using Nars Red Square pencil with Sephora R46 lipstick.
Most used product of the week: Laura Geller Pink Grapefruit blush-bronzer-eyeshadow, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum.
Any new beauty discoveries: by Kilian Black Phantom fragrance (luckyscent.com sample).
Going to have to do some lucky scent samples. Just figured out that they do it.My fragrance WLis so speedy, that I just can’t at present. Thanks for the reminder.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favorite look you worn: A smoky eye using Naked 2, featuring Busted, Pistol and Verve and on another day, I used the more neutral shades, featuring Snakebite, Suspect and YDK.
Most used product of the week: Naked 2 – I decided to give this palette some air time this week and I was reminded once again how stunning and versatile this palette is.
Any new beauty discoveries: Not really this week.
Genevieve, I just love Verve and Pistol. They’re so versatile and they’re probably my most favorite UD shadows. I also like Snakebite.
They really are Shari – I’d forgotten how perfect they are and they always look good on the eye.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. White Peach as base. Candied Peach in crease. Bellini on eyelid. Bless her heart on outer eyelid/crease. MAC Teddy Eyeliner. Clinique High Impact Black Mascara. MAC Select Highlighter Blush Duo in Superb / Selected.
Most Used Product : Toss up between MAC Select Highlighter Blush Duo in Superb / Selected and Cover Girl Tru Blend Blush in Medium Rose
New Beauty Discoveries : NYX Fire Eyeshadow Palette. Soooo excited to play around with this palette!
My skin tone/coloring: fair/warm (elf Flawless Finish Foundation in Natural/Porcelain)
Favorite look you worn: Besides all of my daily products… A Clinique eyeshadow quad from a bonus bag (pink and mauve tones), Revlon ColorStay Creme Eyeshadow in Cherry Blossom (as a base for my lid), Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty, elf Satin Eyeliner Pencil in Smoked Violet, and the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlight Stick.
Most used product of the week: elf Mad for Matte Summer Breeze palette
Any new beauty discoveries: The Laura Geller Diamond Dust Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator is so gorgeous, omg! Got the Ulta freebie and I love it. Tbh, it’s probably the nicest thing in my collection.
Hell, i’ve Been so stressed, that I have forgotten that night, if asked at night job. No clue now. But I do eyes kind of the way I cook, which is kind of impromptu, not tracked, and varied. What I do remember is that the Ofra liquid lip was highly comfortable, and did not ball up or wear poorly, by itself or over primer. That’s a frequent consumer review complaint. The balling (and some sting) happens to me with nudestix. Never going THERE again, and can not pinpoint the chemical offender with Cosdna. Odd. Might give the box away. Pricey mistake.
My skin tone/coloring: NC15, NARS Sheer Glow in Gobi
Favorite look you worn: Oh, I’ll try to make it as short as possible, plus you never know what I will like two days from now. Currently like how the following looks: UD Beware eyeshadow on the lid and MAC Club eyeshadow in the crease. MAC Warm Soul blush, Mary-Lou Manizer highlight. The lips: MAC New Ombre (just find the similar shade) lip pencil, MAC Flashpot lippie topped with UD 3rd Degree Lip Topcoat (yellow gold!)
Most used product of the week: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil
Any new beauty discoveries: Oh yes! All the beauties with the skin color similar to mine and who do not stick to nude/neutral lips. Please do yourself a favor and go try (if you have not already) NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Save the Queen. The lippie itself is quite good (Christine gives it A-) but the color! It so unique and cool! Fun fact. When I was sitting in the chair and the consultant put it on me, 2 people just passing by commented what a nice color it was. No one, I repeat, no one ever said that to me when I tried any other lipsticks and I tried hundreds 🙂 On Christine it looks a bit lighter and (IMHO) warmer? than on me, that is why I’m telling you to go try it for yourself. Let me know what you think when you do try it, please. I apologize if I sound too overexcited.
Light to medium neutral skin tone. A wash of shimmery silver eyeshadow Inglot 151 and Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss 04 lipstick, topped with YSL#1 Violet Edition Vernis a levre. Blush T.F Inhibition no bronzer, light contouring with Mac paint stick Deep Brown, no highlighter
