Skin Tone/Coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, dark hair with some silver
Favorite Look Worn: Dior Backstage Cool Eyeshadow Palette (Mauve in crease; Lilac on lid; Pink on inside corners, inner lid, and brow bone; and Plum on outer V), Marc Jacobs Pink of Me Highliner on lower waterline, Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Charme just under my outer bottom lashes (I had to reapply the outer corners a couple times because of my watery eyes), Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Desert Beige, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, Chanel Pink Explosion Blush, and MAC Modesty Lipstick. Plus my everyday usuals: Clinique Brow Shaper in Charcoaled, ABH Brow Wiz in Granite, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, and Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara.
Most Used Products: Aside from my everyday usuals, Marc Jacobs
Three New Beauty Discoveries:
(1) Stick foundation is nice! I was very surprised at how easy the Bobbi Brown stick is to apply. I was expecting it to have the consistency of a concealer, but it’s so buttery smooth and silky.
(2) Chanel’s Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Charme is a great match with the new Dior Backstage Cool Eyeshadow Palette.
(3) YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara in I’m the Trouble is amazing! The cobalt blue shade really pops. I used it on top and bottom lashes and it did not run or smudge in the least, even in very warm, humid weather. I never wear lower lash mascara because it ALWAYS runs, but this one didn’t.
Yesss…. having loved the green, I got the blue at the Nordie’s mascara sale. It doesn’t darken as much as most, doesn’t look navy in the end, and good smudgeproofing. Think the vinyls are in for the next pick 3 sale. Got the storm topcoat as well. You have me all but sold on the cool Dior palette, even though since the colorways are my current faves, it’ll be duped.
Although I have many similar shades, I love the Dior palette because it’s compact and perfect for travel, and I like the texture of the shadows. I was so excited when I first saw it, I just couldn’t wait for Christine’s review, so I took a chance and blind-bought it. If you decide to get it, I hope you like it as much as I do!
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: IT CC Cream, IT CC Blush Stain in “Love” and Brightening Powder in “Radiant Light” (this is from a terrific face palette that seems no longer to be available), Stila Bubbly and Puppy shadows with Sephora Cappuccino pencil liner and Givenchy Fuchsia lipstick. I topped the whole thing with Ren’s Flash Defence Mist
Most used product of the week: IT CC Cream and when I’m not wearing that, it’s Lise Watier Sun Smart
Any new beauty discoveries: rediscovering the white side of Nars’s Rue Allent eyeshadow (I’d previously disliked it but with the hot weather and the right brush, it makes for a fresh, easy and cool eye look.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: EYES — UD Primer Potion. ColourPop Yes, Please! Palette — Champs (crease to brows), Spoiled (outer corner, true crease), Full Zip (brow bone and for blending out Spoiled), Butter Cake (inner corner), Louie (foiled on lid), French Kiss (lower lash line, outer corner of lid), and ABH e/s single in Love Letter (brows). CHEEKS — Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove. LIPS — BH Cosmetics Creme Luxe Lipstick in Coral Escape. FACE — Nyx Angel Veil primer; BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless Foundation in Ivory; RCMA No Color Powder; Sephora Tranquil (contour); Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection to Reflect Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow; e.l.f. Original Mist & Set.
Most used product of the week: Lip balms. I only wore full makeup twice this week.
Any new beauty discoveries: None this week.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favorite look you worn: I have been playing around with my new palette from Mecca Cosmetica this week and used the copper shade on the lid, with the smokey plum on the lower lid and the purpley shade in the crease and I quite liked that. I paired it with a berry lipstick.
Most used product of the week: Generally all my staples and the Elizabeth Arden’s Cayene Pearl lipstick.
Any new beauty discoveries: That Priceline had 40% of their skincare products and I managed to get there in time to avail myself of the goodies. They hold these sales on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so you have to get in quick.
That combination of shades in your eye look sounds really pretty. I don’t have that palette, but I might try something similar with shadows in my collection.
My skin tone/coloring: fair/cool skin (foundation matches: L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde and blue strands.
Favorite look you worn: I did my first smoky eye last Saturday with the UD Born to Run palette and it turned out really well! I put Wanderlust on the lid, Good as Gone in the crease, and Big Sky on the browbone; lined my top lashline with UD 24/7 Lucky, and finished up the eye with UD Double Team Deep End mascara. I paired it with Sephora Lipstories Labyrinth City lipstick. For my face, I combined my L’Oreal Creamy Natural and UD All Nighter 2.5 foundations and added my UD Original Primer Potion, Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin 10 Ivory concealer, CoverGirl Clean Normal Skin 120 Creamy Natural powder, and NARS Satellite of Love highlighting blush.
My favorite look this week was either the Saturday smoky eye or Friday’s look, which I adapted from this look: https://affordablyfashionable.wordpress.com/2016/04/26/red-y-for-summer/. I used more colors and a thicker line: Sephora Vampire Lovers across lid, LA Colors Beauty FYX: Bronze #5 (a medium red) in center of lid (on top of Vampire Lovers), Kat Von D Egypt in crease, LA Colors Beauty FYX: Bronze #3 (a pale gold) on browbone, Kat Von D x Billie Joe Armstrong Basket Case liner on top lashline, and Christian Louboutin Rouge Louboutin Lash Amplifying lacquer. The original blogger and I used the same lipstick, L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive 403 Eva’s Red! I used the same base products as the Saturday smoky eye, plus UD Optical Illusion face primer.
Most used product of the week: Probably UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion or UD Optical Illusion.
Any new beauty discoveries: That I can do a good smoky eye and cover up an insect bite!
