Givenchy Nude Cachemire, Rose Flanelle, Fuchsia Angora Le Rouge Liquide Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Nude Cachemire (101)
Givenchy Nude Cachemire (101) Le Rouge Liquide ($37.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, light-medium coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. The consistency was very emollient with a high amount of slip, which made it harder to apply evenly and keep it inside the lip lines due to the rounded applicator. It had nearly opaque color coverage that sank into my lip lines within an hour of wear, though the color stayed on for about four hours. It took three hours or so for most of the sheen to go away. The formula was lightly moisturizing over time.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.1 oz. - $370.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "velvet matte" finish that "never feels drying" and is "super-vibrant." It is also supposed to "hydrate and smooth like a nourishing lip balm." The applicator is a fluffy foam tip with a light slant and rounded shape where the lip color exudes out when twisted--the actual lip color has the texture of a thick cream than a traditional liquid lipstick. I found the applicator to be tricky to use and certainly worse than a standard bullet or applying using a doe-foot applicator. It was hard to maneuver along the edges of my lips, especially around the cupid's bow. Of the shades I tried, they were semi-opaque to opaque, comfortable to wear (lightly hydrating), and lasted between four and six hours but found that they seemed to fade more unevenly than the average lip product.

Rose Flanelle (202)
Givenchy Rose Flanelle (202) Le Rouge Liquide ($37.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a soft sheen. The pigmentation was nearly opaque with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that had enough slip to glide across my lips well but didn’t feel overly slippery to wear. The color lasted well for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.

Fuchsia Angora (204)
Givenchy Fuchsia Angora (204) Le Rouge Liquide ($37.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich, deep fuchsia pink with cool undertones and a satin sheen. It had good color coverage, though it wasn’t opaque, with a smooth, creamy texture that had moderate slip that “dried” down to a soft sheen that felt less emollient within a minute or so. It wore well for five and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Nude Cachemire is beautiful! But that photo of the applicator is INTENSE. It’s like a weird deep sea creature / alien / sex monster / bacteria seen through a microscope. I think that’s probably the antithesis of the aesthetic Givenchy are aiming for, but it also kind of makes me want to buy it.
weird deep sea creature / alien / sex monster / bacteria: YESSSSS
I for one do not wish to smear this all over my lips. Blegh. And I say this as a sea creature tattoo bearer.
The closeup for Nude Cachemire appears to show the applicator once it has been used. What I noticed is that some of the fibers appear to have become detached, which seems like it could be a problem with them getting stuck to the lips. That, plus the difficulty of applying precisely to the Cupid’s bow make this a no-buy for me, though the shades are gorgeous.
The shades are really beautiful. But, that fur around the applicator. Idk. Will check these out though.
Thank you so much, Christine, for posting the picture of the applicator after use. I am just kind of grossed out by it but maybe it works better in application than it appears to. You certainly were able to get it to apply evenly and around the lip margins. Do you use a lip brush when you do your swatches or just the provided applicator? These are beautiful shades, though.
I use the provided applicator unless it’s broken (have had that a few times).
Thank you for responding, Christine. Looks like you were able to get a good lip outline with it so if I could get past the overall impression of the application method I might be able to use it. We will see.
Shades are beautiful, but the applicator is disturbing to me. Pass.
Bit too gimmicky for my taste. Looks a little obscene to me too…
The colors are pretty but I am concerned the the possibility of contamination on the fiber. It does not appear to be easily cleaned.
BTW, your earrings are perfect with the summery make up!
Beautiful shades – especially the first one, but the applicator puts me off.
I think this product is going to be a dud because of the applicator. Some lovely shades, though.
It seems like the tubes all look the same when opened and you only see the actual shade when it comes out. I’m turned off by the applicator though.
The formula & shades look gorgeous but that applicator just looks like an absolute germ fest!
I see I’m not the only one who found the close-up/high-def photo of the applicator a little disturbing! It looks like some kind of Muppet gone terribly wrong. I’m not a fan of fuzzy applicators in general so I’d pass on these lipsticks, although the shades are pretty.
I do not care for the close up images of these lipsticks, madam, I do not care for them one bit. They totally look like something from a gross dimension on Rick and Morty.
Do you find it difficult to roll up the correct amount of product? I have seen other reviews saying it dispenses too much no mater how careful you are and then gets messy. Did you find that to be the case?
I didn’t have issues with getting too much, but I only tried five.
That last one is ?!! Too much money for what it is *imo* but if these aren’t pretty!
I still can get past the hairy looking applicator. Ewww
I do not understand the fuzzy, squeeze-tube applicators…
