Melt Cosmetics Haze Eyeshadow Stack Review, Photos, Swatches
Haze
Melt Cosmetics Haze Eyeshadow Stack (x4) ($48.00 for 0.36 oz.) contains a rich red, copper, gold, and pale silver. All four shades contained some shimmer (ranged from pearl to metallic), so I expect that it’ll work better as a complementary “palette” for those who prefer to have a mix of mattes and shimmers in a look. This set of shades was easy to work with, pigmented, and long-wearing.

Haze
Haze is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly in a single layer. The eyeshadow was more softly pressed, and it seemed to be more fragile than most eyeshadows from the brand. The consistency was soft, blendable, and didn’t have any fallout when I used it on bare skin. This shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me.

Bogart
Bogart is a medium-dark copper with warm, red undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was soft and more loosely-pressed in the pan, which made it seem a little dusty when I initially worked with it, but the eyeshadow pressed onto my lid evenly and maintained its opacity. It also blended out with ease. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Ganja
Ganja is a bright, medium-dark gold with subtle, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was soft but not dusty at all. The texture was easy to work with, and the eyeshadow applied well to bare skin and lasted for eight hours on me.

Nice. Have they gotten any ire for using the marijuana theme names? Ps your pic says rust stacks. Interesting combo. Not sure I would have pulled these from a vice palette, f’rinstance… If you have your technique, though, anything ‘goes.’ Real pretty.
Which photo? There are so many – the eye look uses both stacks (says Haze / Rust), and that’s the only mention I’m seeing of Rust!
Ah, so. It does say both. One really ought not try to check this out while multitasking. You don’t hear what the person you don’t want to listen to is saying, either. Sorry. It does say both….and I thought I detected both.
No worries! I combined two stacks per look for most of the Melt looks 🙂
Hi Christine! I’m so glad you decided to review Melt. Which brushes do you recommend to use with the melt shimmers/metallic eyeshadows?
Hi Dimaya,
I haven’t had any issues using my typical brushes – haven’t felt like I needed to use anything in particular – so ones like MAC 239, Smith 253, Chikuhodo GSN-09 for lid colors and an assortment of crease brushes from Wayne Goss, Hakuhodo, and Zoeva.
Hi Christine, thank you for your reply. Since I wanted the most intense pigment application, I tried using an old school disposable eye brush/sponge but the eyeshadow would just crumble when I pressed into the pan. I also tried my cozette deposit brush and had the same result.
I don’t like using my fingers but just started doing that with these eyeshadows. Since I have other shimmer shadows these have been sitting at my vanity. I have several hakuhodo brushes I’ll try using instead, I’m glad you gave these a good grade. And as always good in depth review! I’ll have to revisit them tomorrow when I’m getting ready 🙂
Let me know if it worked!
This is so pretty. I still haven’t tried any of their eyeshadows yet.
Glad you’re reviewing Melt’s Stacks I’ve always wanted to buy one but wasn’t sure which to purchase. I brought their eye liners and really like them. Also think they make nice highlighters. But expensive so I’ll wait for the next Melt sale.
I only have the Dark Matter stack, but I feel like this would be a great little companion to it. I love Melt and I’m sad I don’t own more shadows. Haze is divine.
This is a much better quality set of eyeshadows than the previous one and I love the shades chosen, they are really cohesive and beautifully pigmented. Lovely eye look Christine.
This is really gorgeous but it’s a bit out of my price range! I’ve always wanted to try and Melt Stack so perhaps I will grab this one during a sale if these happen to fall under one.
I’ve still haven’t bought a stack of their eyeshadows yet, this one is gorgeous but I feel like I’ve got enough similar shades from limited Editon TF & UD palettes and with some of Sugarpill singles and pigments for these 4. They are really pretty though!
Still love their lipstick formula though. 😉
I. Love. This. Stack. So much so that I do this weird thing where I don’t use it often because I feel like it’ll be used up. Ridiculous as I’ve only hit pan on *two* shadows in my entire makeup life (stemming about twenty years), but these are so glorious and beautiful I can’t bring myself to hardly touch them. That gold? Omg… And the red is effing amazing as part of a deep smoky eye.
