Skin tone/coloring: Light neutral, green eyes, dark hair
Favorite Look Worn: Mercier Mania! (Dressy evening look)
Clinique Brow Shaper, ABH Brow Wiz, MAC single eyeshadows (Vanilla on brow bone, Kid in crease, Satin Taupe on outer V), Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Moonlight on lid and inner corners, Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner in Blue Marine in upper lashline, Marc Jacobs Highliner in Brownie smudged just under outer bottom lashline, Marc Jacobs Highliner in In the Buff on bottom waterline, Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Desert Beige, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, Laura Mercier Cheek Color in Lotus Pink, Laura Mercier Baked Bronzer 02, Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter 01, and Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lipstick in the gorgeous shade Boudoir. (I am obviously a big fan of Laura Mercier cosmetics.) And to complement the look, Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum.
Most Used Products: Clinique Brow Shaper, Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
New Beauty Discoveries: It looks like I’ve just found a new HG product, which I received as a gift with purchase: Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara actually makes a dramatic difference on my short, skimpy lashes. I also rediscovered lipgloss. I haven’t used it since I was a teenager, but wow, has lipgloss changed since then! I am loving the new UD Hi-Fi Shine Lipgloss. I already have two of them.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Favorite look you wore: Lise Watier Multi Fini in the lightest colour, Nars RC concealer set with Hourglass Ethereal, Clarins Brown E/S quad (the lightest and 3rd colours), Smashbox Cappuccino liner, MAC Into the Pink blush and Smashbox Legendary lipstick
Most used product of the week: the Lise Watier Multi Fini and MAC Into the Pink blush
Any new beauty discoveries: yes – that a very few Viseart Colour Theory/6 pans are actually available IN STORE at my local Sephora.
My skin tone/coloring: light with warm undertones (I use Nars Soft Matte Concealer in Vanilla). Brown hair, brown eyes.
Favorite look you worn: On Wednesday I used concealer, Fenty Yacht Lyfe as a luminous blush, and Colourpop gel liner in Overboard winged out. I really like wearing simple looks like this to work, and it was an unexpectedly great combination to do peachier skin paired with brown liner. Unfortunately the eyeliner was gone within a couple hours- it’s my birthday today so I want to do a fun look that is longer lasting!
Most used product of the week: Laneige Lip Mask in Grapefruit
Any new beauty discoveries: I have been looking for a replacement for my loved and discontinued Dr Jart Light Cream unsuccessfully… until now! 😀 I’m loving the A’pieu Madecassoside cream as a pretty much direct replacement, and it’s way cheaper and comes in a tube! Yes!
Happy Birthday, Sam! I hope you have a lovely day 😀
Happy Birthday and I hope you have a lovely day.
My skin tone/coloring: Fair/warm-neutral
Favorite look you wore: I pulled out my Chanel Empriente quad and fell back in love with it!
Most used product of the week: Kiehl’s avocado eye cream — I’ve been applying it twice a day while at home, since I’ve been sleeping poorly and my undereyes feel tired and dry.
Any new beauty discoveries: I tried the Too Faced peach primer and was blown away by how well it helps my foundation hold up in the humidity.
Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream is my HG of eye creams!
Yes, Empriente is lovely! I have heard the whole Too Faced Peach line (primer, foundation, setting powder) is really good: I plan to try it this summer.
Skin tone: Medium Warm (MAC NC30, GA Luminous Silk 5.75)
Favorite look: After having three back-to-back frustrating days with Viseart Petite Pro II and Dior Forever Undercover foundation, it was like HEAVEN to return to some go-to products. My favorite look was Luminous Silk foundation set with Guerlain Meteorites compact in 3 Medium, NARS Fame blush (from the Narsissist Unfiltered II cheek palette), Anastasia’s Moonstone highlighter (from the Sun Dipped Glow Kit), Charlotte Tilbury’s Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow in Jean all over lid, Anastasia’s Lure (a mauve shadow from the Prism palette) in the crease, a touch of Bossy mixed with Maneater (Huda Rose Gold palette, think “cherry cola”) in the outer V, and Chanel’s Incantevole lipstick. This look was like the sunlight after a month of rain!
Most used product of the week: Viseart’s Petite Pro II. Although I only wore it three days to work, I actually used the palette ten times over the course of the week, including two more times this morning before taking a shower. I really don’t know what to say about this palette. I’ve used many different brushes, a few different primers, bare lids, my fingers, morning application, nighttime application, and so on. Sometimes it seems okay, and other times it is so bad that I have to take everything off and start over. If I heard someone else has it and loves it, I would totally believe it, because we all have such different perspectives, preferences, application methods, skin types, age-related issues, etc. Maybe there are even differences from one batch to another. For me this palette is like a bad relationship: there are some good days, but overall I know I need to let it go.
New beauty discoveries: I bought an Hourglass brush a couple years ago (eye shadow #3). It never worked for applying eye shadow and I eventually moved it to my discard pile. Usually moving something to my discard pile has the tendency to get me thinking about how I could make the tool or product work for me. I decided to try using the brush to apply my Stay Don’t Stray eye shadow primer and it worked like a dream. Then I used it to apply concealer on my eyelid when I’m doing a cut-crease: again, magic! Now I’m wondering if this baby can work with under eye concealer as well…
Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones.
Favorite look: I haven’t worn a lot of makeup this week as I have been mostly packing my ex’s things and truck for return to Georgia. I did use the Pur Visionary palette and liked the look I got from it. I used the lighter brown matte shade, Innovator, as a transition, the peachy shimmer shade, Girl Boss, from the top row over the mobile lid and the deeper purple matte, Role Model through the crease and to deepen the outer V. The shadows blended well and I loved the look. I used the Coringco Cherry Blossom Water Cushion foundation, Jill Stuart blush in 03 and for lipstick I used the Coringco Cherry Chew Lipstick in See Through Rose. Overall I liked the look. The lipstick did give me a light ring around my lips where it bled outside the lip line but without the usual “lines” and rather just looked like I smudged the color outside the lines. This type of look is common in Korea where they do a ombre look and this lipstick seemed to do the look without actually trying for the look of an ombre lip. I have worn the other shades and have used a wax pencil on my lip line and they stayed put with that application. The colors are really gorgeous and all fall in my preferred lip colors.
Most used products: Overall, I have been using the NIOD Eye Serum/Oil most this week. I started out using it once a day at night time in an effort to improve the hydration under my eyes. I was worried about stopping my Dr. Dennis Gross eye gel so continued to use that in the am for the previous week. This week I started using both twice a day. I know, over kill but I am liking the hydration I am starting to see under my eyes and I don’t seem to be experiencing any harmful effects from using both so I am going to continue for awhile and see how it goes.
New beauty discoveries: Nothing this week.
My skin tone/coloring: light to medium with warm undertone, MAC NC 23 ish
Favorite look you’ve worn:
Lid: Tom Ford Sun Worship cream + powder
Crease: MAC Malibu Bronze (heavily diffused) and Worthy (tight crease)
Lower lash and waterline: MAC Groundbreaker smudged with Malibu Bronze
Bronzer: MAC Medium Deep MSF
Blush: MAC Cubic and/or Tenderling
Lips: lined with Spice or Nice and Spicy, and Kinda Sexy or Sunset Pearl lipstick OR Pure Delight Cremesheen. I’ve been tweaking it as I go but really like the way it is shaping up. I didn’t line the upper lashline or waterline, just smoked out the lower lash and waterline, which is a first for me. I got kinda bold yesterday and wore MAC Vamplify How Chic is this (I sheered it out but the color was just enough) and liked how that looked as well. I like the Vamplify formula and I don’t normally like glosses – it’s a shame they discontinued it.
Most used product of the week: All of my staples
Any new beauty discoveries: Castor Oil seems to be doing the trick for growing or at least maintaining eyelash growth.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Favorite look you worn: A green monotone look with smokey olive eye. EYES — UDPP in Enigma. MUFE Lustrous Palette: M500 Ivory (crease to brow as base and brow bone highlight), M536 Milk Tea (in crease and swept around to the lower lid), M322 Khaki (outer corner of crease, blown out past the tail of the brow, and brought around to the outer corner of the lower lid), and M100 Black (smudging out UD Eye Pencil in Perversion on the lower lashline and outer half of the upper lashline). NARS x Man Ray Glass Tears Palette: One and Only (lids) and Tryst (patted onto the center of lid over One and Only). Violet Voss Pearl (inner corner). UD Eye Pencil in Perversion (upper and lower waterlines). UD Troublemaker Mascara. LIPS — Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Dirty Money. CHEEKS — Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Blush in Vintage Rose and Butter HL in Pearl. FACE — e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation in Porcelain mixed with Manic Panic White; Sephora Tranquil (contour),Wet n Wild MegaGlow HL in Blushing Azalea, and e.l.f. Original Mist & Set
Most used product of the week: Aside from my daily stuff, e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation in Porcelain mixed with Manic Panic White, because I’m using up the dregs of both bottles.
Any new beauty discoveries: I got Holographic Lip Gloss (no brand name on the display or bottle) from Sally Beauty. I can’t read the tiny print on the bottom of the tube, so I don’t know the shade number. It has a slight plum tint and holographic microshimmer and it’s really, really pretty on me. I have super-pale lips, so the tint shows up nicely on me. It would be a beautiful topper, as well. It was less than $3.
My skin tone/coloring: Light medium, yellow tones. Dark brown hair and eyes,
Favorite look worn: I’m still mixing things up with the ND Lila palette – I used WnW Brulee on the brow bone, Colourpop Dreamboat as a base lid colour and out as a transition shade, ND Viola in the crease, ND Amara on the outer third and Colourpop Glass Bull over the mobile lid. Zoeva Glance liner.
TheBalm Cabana Boy blush with Violet Voss highlight in Tea Rose. Colourpop Persuasion lippie stick.
Most used product of the week: I used the Violet Voss Rose Gold highlighter palette every single day this week!
Any new beauty discoveries: The Ordinary 30% BHA peel solution – I don’t like all of their products but this one is sensational.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Favourite look you worn: Using the Lorac Pro Metals palette, I used the Amber shade (which is a coppery metaliic shade) over the lid, with Clover, the olive green shade, on the lower lid and Graphite in the crease. I paired it with the EA’s Cocoa Bronze lipstick.
Most used product of the week: Just my staples
Any new beauty discoveries: That the DB (Designer Brands) cosmetic range, which is cruelty free and a lot of products are vegan) have a porcelain shade of foundation that works well on my skin. I am probably going to try this as my next DS foundation.
Hi Genevieve!
I’ve recently become a bit of a fan girl of DB – the Luminous Hydrating foundation is excellent and I’m trying out the Velvet Matte and the luminous primer currently. Their mascaras are also great, Absolute Lash has become an HG for me – natural looking but fantastic length and definition, holds a curl really well and doesn’t clump, smudge or flake. Washes off easily too. Haven’t tried any of their colour products yet (no eyeshadow or lip products) but I did get a vivid highlighter palette (yellow gold, iridescent peach and lilac) that I have swatched but not yet worn, and it seems very promising.
Glad you found a foundation shade that works for you! 😀
Yes the brand has quite a few different kinds of foundation and I am checking out what would work on me. I still have a couple of bottles of foundation to use up a home first, but I am always looking. I am glad to hear that the mascara is good because I have just about finished mine and was looking for a new one. I will give this brand a go.
Thank you for your feedback, it has made up my mind.
No worries! Glad to share my experiences 🙂
On that note, I am not a fan of the luminous primer – it applies beautifully and reminds me a lot of the Hourglass Mineral Veil in terms of texture but my foundation is slipping around my nose (like it does with the Hourglass one too, incidentally!) So if you like the mineral veil, you might like this one but it’s not working for me.
Skintone / coloring : light, MAC NC 15 – 20, med brown hair and eyes
Favorite look worn : KVD Saint and Sinner Palette. Martyr in the crease. Sacred Heart on eyelid. Rapture pressed in center of eyelid. Heaven in inner corner. Rimmel brown kohl eye pencil. It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. Lancome Cedar Rose blush
Most used product : It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. KVD Saint and Sinner Palette. Rimmel brown kohl eyeliner. Clinique Even Better Foundation. Maybelline Better Skin Pressed Powder.
New beauty discoveries: In answering a past question, I was like I don’t really put anything in my inner corner but this week, I have put KVD Heaven in the inner corner and was obsessed!
