Urban Decay x Marvels Eternals 24/7 Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches
Cosmic Energy
Urban Decay Cosmic Energy 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium, yellowy gold with moderate warm undertones and a shimmery finish. It had sheer color coverage in a single layer, which did not build up well at all; the product looked more and more uneven with little added opacity when I tried to layer it. The consistency was almost fragile as it had a tendency to get mushed and breakoff during use, so it seemed overly emollient. This shade seemed to last seven hours on me, but it was hard to tell as it was quite sheer.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.04 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to go on "smoothly, stay soft and super-creamy for blending" before it "dries to a long-lasting finish that won't budge" with "intense" coverage. I'm a long-time fan and user of the formula--almost a decade now--and they're still a go-to. I keep a handful of formulas at my fingertips, and I have all of the shades from this range in a cup within reach.
It isn't the longest-wearing formula I've come across, but I find that it balances longevity with creaminess in application and ease of removal at the end. They also wear away "kindly," so while the line might get thinner, it doesn't drag or bleed toward my under eye area. The formula has solid, long-wear at eight to 10 hours before fading, thinning, or having a bit of migration to the outer corner. The less shimmery shades tend to have the most visible movement, whereas the more shimmery shades tend to fade or thin.
The pigmentation varies a lot from shade to shade with more matte shades often having the most coverage in a single layer, followed by more metallic finishes. The more glittery the finish, the weaker the coverage and application were. Many of the shades in the range are buildable and apply with near-to or opaque coverage when applied in short, overlapping strokes. The majority are very comfortable to apply on the lower lash line or waterline.
They have a creamy, glide-on consistency as promised, and they can be smudged or blended out, so they are particularly useful for someone who likes a more diffused look for their eyeliner.
As someone who has had a lot of these eyeliners over time, I can attest to the fact that they do not dry out readily. Some of the shades I have that I don't use (because they're THAT old) are still creamy and glide-on when swatched.

Cosmic Mission
Urban Decay Cosmic Mission 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) has a darker, plummy purple base with multi-colored shimmer–violet, blue, and murky green to my eyes–that gave it a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer to medium pigmentation, which built up decently, though the eyeliner was too emollient and soft, which made it harder to apply with precision and often resulted in the pencil breaking during use (even on the lash line!). It wore well for seven hours on me.

Cosmic Eternal
Urban Decay Cosmic Eternal 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a brighter, medium blue with moderate, cool undertones and a sparkly finish. The texture was very soft to the point where it was too soft to work with comfortably as the eyeliner kept breaking or getting mushed with a clump of pencil on my skin rather than delivering a smooth, even line of product.
It had semi-opaque color coverage, but if I tried to layer or even it out, the product clumped up and looked worse for my attempts. This shade stayed on decently for seven hours but had light fallout/migration over time.

Cosmic Speed
Urban Decay Cosmic Speed 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark black with neutral-to-cool undertones and flecks of gray sparkle. The texture was very creamy and soft, which resulted in a pencil that was difficult to use as it often broke during use or the tip would mush and make it impossible to get a thin, even line of product. It had semi-sheer coverage that did not build up well as the color ended up pushing around as I tried to work with it. There were signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Yikes. I’m incredibly disappointed at how the quality of UD has declined in the last few years. It’s such a shame since the 24/7 liners were always great with my watery, allergy eyes.
I’ll admit, I panic-bought Cosmic Speed and Cosmic Mission. With the disappearance of Marc Jacobs Beauty and that Urban Decay being unable to keep Oil Slick and/or others in Stock, it was feeling like my shimmer/glitter eyeliner choices are dwindling. I am pretty lazy though and don’t mind not having crisp lines.
What! I missed something, Marc Jacob Beauty is ending??? So that’s why the 50% Sephora in France deals; Noooooo!!! I like so many of his products. Well, I’ll try to get a few to stock up. What a shame!!!
IF I do decide to get Mission and Eternal, I’m storing them in the refrigerator to keep them firm enough to use. I’ve had to do that with many a Nyx eye pencil. It works, and I don’t mind having to do that since I’m currently doing so already!
What! These look and sound terrible!!!
I’m so sad about these since the UD formula is normally my favorite. I had already ordered these, but I was hoping they would have been like the quality of past releases. UD used to do such nice gold eyeliners!
Oh, Urban Decay. What happened to you? I keep hoping with each new buzzy release that they’ll experience a renaissance in quality, but alas…
I am so with you on this.
They’re never coming back 🙁 they need to be banned from collaborations, clearly they can’t do these.
Wow! What happened. Urban decay eyeliners are one of the few I like for my waterline. That’s a pretty big change up, formula wise.
Thanks for this Christine, I will save my money to spend on something else!
Holy Moly – these are so baaad!
Wow! These swatches are terrible! I remember looking up some other UD eyeliner swatches on here and they looked pretty good (and I think your grading matched as well, Christine). Disappointing as they are pretty colours, mainly Cosmic Mission and Eternal. Oh well – I’m not really interested in these anyway but it would be nice to get a few colourful liners at some point.
Yikes. I hope the movie is better.
But UD can make eyeliner pencils, I know they can!
I must say UD’s become a brand that is really hit (lipsticks) and miss (most other new things). It’s such a pity, they used to have such good products.
I had my eyes on Cosmic Mission. I don’t have anything like it, but I don’t need any pencils with issues. So an easy pass.
WHAT is happening with Urban Decay? They’ve always made some of the best pencil liners but these are dismal – smushing up and/or breaking? Cosmic Mission looked promising just looking at the pencil tip but it’s so lacking in pigmentation. And I was hoping the gold one would be something like Lannister Gold (one of the most beautiful gold pencil liners EVER) but, alas, both in colour and performance, it can’t hold a candle to that beauty. If these are the result of the so-called “Clean” move, then I’ll take “Dirty” any day.
This is depressing but increasingly unsurprising.
Ah, my thoughts exactly!
This breaks my heart. UD 24/7 liners have been my Holy Grail liners for what seems like forever. What on earth is going on over there? This is a product they used to be able to do better than (almost) anyone else with their eyes closed and hands tied behind their backs!
Now? Bah!
I am really exasperated; each new UD release is worse than the last. I’m actually afraid to buy anything from them, lest they’ve changed the formula on it and made it dreadful. I totally miss the old Urban Decay.
It is absolutely tragic to have to watch as they kill their own brand.
What gives, Urban Decay?
And if this dreadfulness is blamed on their move to cleaner products, then they have $#!^ formulators working with them- because other brands are clean and have excellent products.
A comment of “No comment.” Sad, as they were the only thing I thought I’d consider in this collection.
Yikes. As bad as UD gets, as cheap as they go to cut costs and keep the profits flowing up…they at least always had good liners.
This is……yeah.
