Disco Daydream is my very first makeup product from UD. It was so innovative back then. Have to get it for old times’ sake.
As I mentioned on another blog, the only thing that disappoints me about this collection was that they’re donating from only one shade’s revenue. I get that they’re trying to make money, but in this case some of that comes from capitalizing on people’s identities (not to mention the weird softcore vibe from a few of the advert pictures). Why not sales from one shade of every new product, or hell, even from the whole collection? I expect better from UD.
I know- the softcore lesbian thing in the adverts just really felt old and cheap to me, and I agree about donating more. Also, cynically, I’m betting that Stonewall is the color that would have sold the least under normal circumstances- red glitter.
Ummmm.. I knew this collection wouldn’t be for me. I like a couple of the pencils.
Whoa, Nellie! Boy, do the first two products look finicky. The lips are pretty much as expected, maybe a bit more pigmented, yay. The pencils, at least, look up to par for UD. Eye pencils have always been my UD weakness. And they seldom fail in execution.
My feelings exactly, KJH. The 24/7’s seem to be the winners, at least the 2 blues look perfect. Same with 3 out of 4 Hi-Fi’s. But the glitter paste and liquid e/l’s look like they’d be a PITA to apply, and even worse to remove!
I really wish this had just been an extension of their existing range and they hadn’t shoe horned in some eleventh hour “support” for the LGBT. It just feels so exploitative the way they’ve done it from there only being one charity product to the tasteless campaign image. It’s a shame because I always see how much people love their glitter liners and I love the look of Volume and Stonewall but I’ll keep my money and spend it on a brand that isn’t trying to use my community to make a buck.
Oooh the eyeliners look fun! Hoping they review well
Roxy and Electric Empire don’t look too frighteningly glittery, thank goodness! I may need Roxy in particular!
Since I also love a few of the Hi-Fi Shine Lipglosses, I’m sad about UD adding sodium saccharine to them. Not that I need to add even one more lip gloss to my stash, but I really love Hot Love and Disco Queen!
Roxy and Electric Empire would probably be the only ones that I would be interested in, I do love UD’s eyeliners.
Well the glittery eyeliners look dismal, the adverts phony and the donation to charity insignificant. Not good UD.
Disco Daydream and Party Animal look fun to pat over eyeshadow but the rest look pretty bad. I definitely want a couple of those glosses though.
