Urban Decay Quiver Afterglow 8-Hour Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
Urban Decay Quiver Afterglow 8-Hour Blush
Urban Decay Quiver Afterglow 8-Hour Blush ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “medium red.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark pinky-red with cool, bluish undertones and a satin-matte finish. ColourPop Clutch (P, $8.00) is slightly warmer, cream. NARS Panic (Left) (P) is more shimmery, pinker. Surratt Beauty Rougeur (P, $32.00) is darker, redder. Chanel Chamade (67) (P, $38.00) is brighter, cream. MAC Whole Lotta Love (P, $23.50) is lighter. MAC Magenta (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC Supernova (LE, $27.00) is warmer. Burberry Hydrangea Pink (P, $42.00) is slightly pinker. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
The formula is supposed to have buildable color coverage, wear for eight hours, and have a “blendable, finely milled” texture. The color coverage ranges from semi-sheer to semi-opaque, depending on your brush and how heavy or light your hand is, and it is definitely buildable to fully opaque, true-to-pan color if desired. On my medium skin tone, I didn’t feel like I had to use the tiniest amount, but I still recommend using less than you think and building up, if necessary, because you don’t need much for medium coverage. The texture was very finely-milled and silky, on the thinner side, and a smidgen powdery, though it didn’t look powdery on the skin. It was fairly blendable, but it wasn’t as blendable as the other shades in the range. The finish looks matte initially but diffuses to a more satiny finish as it is blended and worked into the skin. On me, it wore well for almost nine hours.

This is a beautiful color but I don’t think I would be able to pull it off! It looks great on you though!
Thank you, Agata! I bet you could 😉
Quiver is very pretty. I need another pink blush like I need a hole in the head!
lol! I hear ya!
Damn that’s beautiful.
The finish is nice!
Urban Decay is killing me with this summer collection! This is yet another blush I feel that I need lol
Another winner for your skin tone for sure 🙂
Such a stunner, this one! Loved it from the moment you first swatched it for us 🙂
Yay! Glad it turned out well!
I can’t wait for the round -up on these! This one is pretty unique for my stash. So, it will remain in consideration.
Almost time for the round-up!
That seals the deal for me as being my alternative to Exhibit A! I really like that it is not extremely pigmented – much easier to work with for an intermediate like me!
Yayyy!
I think Nyx’s new High Definition Blush in Crimson might be another dupe for this one, except maybe a touch lighter and more neutral.
Great to hear, Áine! 🙂
WOW – that is sure pigmented. I need blushes that are a bit hard to overdo just because I’m usually in both a rush and a fog in the mornings. I could see myself ending up looking like a clown in this quite easily. But it sure is pretty.
LOL! I completely understand. I like about medium coverage for my skin tone – sheer is too much work, nearly opaque is too much work.
This is a gorgeous colour! It may give me clown cheeks but sometimes I like that look. 😛
Seriously though, these new Urban Decay blushes look pretty nice overall. I’ll need to test them when I get a chance. Having Temptalia to refer to is great though and has saved me from making many bad and/or unnecessary purchases! Thanks for all your hard work Christine. Xxx
It’s really my pleasure to be able to help, Gillian 🙂 Thank you for reading!
Definitely one I’ll need to try on properly before purchasing, in case it works against my redness-prone skin (some red blushes do, some don’t).
I hope this one works with it!
My goodness, they all look great lol
I promise not all of them are winners, lol!
This looks beautiful on you!
Thank you, Deborah!
So pretty, you wear it well. Another nice shade from this collection!
Thank you, Valerie!
Oh I like this! I use NARS Exhibit A for my go to red blush, but it might be more “tomatoey” in color ( no pink). Thanks Christine for your review- not being familiar with UD I probably would have passed. Now I’m gonna give it a try. Looks so pretty on you too!
No problem, Trish! 🙂
It’s more pink-toned than I thought it would be. Very watermelon-like. Gorgeous.
It is very pretty!
Nice saturated blush color shade. It would look great if used alone together with a bright lipstick. No other makeup necessary.
That’s a great look idea!
I’d have to swatch it but I think with a light hand it might be doable!
I think it would be!
I do believe that I really *need* this to pair with my Maria Moretti lippy and a fierce winged cat-eye pin-up eye look!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!❤ The first thing that came to mind was the music video of Lady Marmalade, Christina Aguilera’s makeup! Hahaha I LOVED it!
