Urban Decay Punch Drunk & Quiver Revolution High-Color Lipglosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Urban Decay Punch Drunk Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Urban Decay Punch Drunk Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright orange.” It’s a bold, brightened, medium orange-red with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff, though there was still some translucency to it so the natural lip color will peek through (I could see it turning redder on some as a result). It went on smoothly and evenly, and the gloss wore well for almost six hours and was lightly hydrating over time. NARS Wonder (P, $26.00) is sheerer, lighter. MAC Teen Dream (LE, $20.00) is less glossy, lighter. MAC Morange (LE, $15.00) is lighter. MAC Knockout (LE, $15.00) is similar. MAC Eclectic Edge (LE, $15.00) is lighter, more shimmery. MAC Ablaze (LE, $15.00) is similar. Illamasqua Temper (P, $22.00) is similar. Guerlain Tangerine Vlam (P, $30.00) is less red. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Urban Decay Quiver Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is described as a “medium rose-pink.” It’s a lightly brightened, medium-dark raspberry pink with cool, blue undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had nearly full color coverage with a very light translucency that could only be seen in some light. The color went on evenly, and though I could see a tiny bit in my lip lines, the depth and shine made it hard to notice from a normal viewing distance. The color stayed on well for almost six hours and was moderately hydrating. This shade was surprisingly difficult to dupe due to its opacity. Urban Decay Big Bang (P, $22.00) is darker, more shimmery. Maybelline Opalescent Orchid (515) (P, $8.99) is sheerer. MAC Ultramarine Pink (LE, $30.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #523 (P, $29.00) is redder, warmer. NARS Mexican Rose (P, $24.00) is sheerer, less glossy. Burberry Pink Sweet Pea (LE, $29.00) is more shimmery. Gorgeous! Both of ’em!
They are pretty!
Punch Drunk just screams summer! I rarely wear orange glosses but I’m really digging that color
It totally does! Super juicy.
Ooooh! I likey, both give a great pop of color but are very wearable and not OTT
They’re just on the more wearable side than a true neon!
Punch drunk is going on my wish list, it screams summer!
Yayyyy!
Love, love, love. These have the kind of effect that I always want from lipglosses like the new NARS ones, and then I get disappointed because the vividness usually goes kaput once the gloss is no longer in the container. I’m so looking forward to getting my hands on them!
Which ones are your must-haves, El?
It’s so tempting to say ALL OF THEM, lol. But actually not true. These two and Big Bang for sure, and I’ll probably get Vice even if it wasn’t as fab just because it’s Vice and UD and that’s kind of how it goes ;-). I can always put it over top of MAC Heroine to amp up the purple. (I don’t see it going well with Technopagan!) One of the reds, too, probably, but those I’ll want to try on. Luckily my local UD counter knows me and they’re quite happy for their “Canadian friend” to show up and play with the testers *g*.
Vice would be pretty over Heroine! 🙂
Both are perfect! I could see these two and a neutral-ish one being tops on my wish list as initial buys since the purple didn’t do well.
Good call 🙂
Oh, I think Punch Drunk is gorgeous! Going to get this one!
It is a pretty shade!
These were on my list of maybe, I try to wait for your review before I buy. Is there an aroma/taste. That is usually a deal breaker for me..they look beautiful on you!
There’s at most a very, very subtle buttery vanilla scent, but I can barely detect it when initially opening the tube.
I love both! I guess blush won’t be my only purchase from this collection 🙂
lol!
Not a lip gloss fan but these look beautiful on you Christine. I think I prefer Punch Drunk myself – where do they get these awful names from?
Thank you, Genevieve! I think it’s just a slang term? I’m not sure, but I remember the movie title Punch Drunk Love at least…
Punch Drunk is a shade of orange I could actually wear. That little bit of a lean towards red makes all the difference. Quiver is such a pretty pink.
It would so pretty on you, Rachel!
Thank you.
I’m not much of a gloss wearer, but these are really pretty. I’m especially tempted by Quiver (of course, lol! — I can pull off oranges, but it’s easier if they have a bit more pink in them). I like the near-opacity factor. I’ll have to go back to your first review of these and see how sticky they are. Stickiness feels uncomfortable to me.
These are fairly sticky – if you do not like tacky glosses, I would definitely test this out if you can first.
Quiver is pretty. The color loks so saturated that I would call it a liquid lipstick 🙂
Almost! 😀
Quiver is pretty awesome. Punch Drunk is a bit too orange I think to work for me.
I’m glad Quiver will work!
