Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette ($44.00 for 0.492 oz.) is the newest in the Naked series, and since it’s permanent, here are 12 different combinations you might try with the palette! I think that the palette may be comprehensive enough for certain skin tones that it can be an all-in-one, but I found that wasn’t as versatile on its own as I would have liked. I always wanted a few lighter shimmers as well as more mid-tone to dark (but not nearly as deep as End Game) hues to be able to get varying levels of depth.

About This Series

Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.

You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Fantastic! I love these posts! I haven’t played much with this palette yet, so I’ll definitely try one of these options this weekend!

I think you do see the limitations of a palette when you start to create combinations like these, as I did with Sultry (needing a mid tone taupe shade) and from a brand that created the best taupe shade ever (Mushroom) to fail so miserably on Dreamweaver, is inexcusible. However I really like these combinations and show how to make the most out of the palette. Burn is such a lovely shade too.

I don’t have this palette and doubt I’ll ever get it (Retro and Boundaries are shades I’d never use and a few others are “on the cusp”) but there are some other lovely colours in this palette and I really like the quad ideas you’ve given folks. I just wish they’d bring back the original Naked palette – “stick in the mud” folks like me still love that palette after all these years and rely/relied on it quite heavily.
