Too Faced Unicorn Tears Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches
Unicorn Tears
Too Faced Unicorn Tears Iridescent Mystical Bronzer ($30.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new, limited edition highlighter-and-bronzer duo that’s definitely easier to use together than separately, but with the right brushes, the two can be used separately if desired. I found that the highlighter did not impact the color of the bronzer much at all, just added violet sparkle on top (which was hardly noticeable once blended out). The powder had a sweet scent to it.
Unicorn Tears
LELimited Edition. $30.00.
Unicorn Tears (Bronzer)
Unicorn Tears (Bronzer) is a medium, reddish brown with warm undertones and a fine, copper pearl. It had medium, buildable coverage–which was actually how it was described by the brand!–that was a little dusty in the pan, but it blended out nicely on my skin. There was a soft sheen, but it did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

Unicorn Tears (Highlighter)
Unicorn Tears (Highlighter) is a light lavender with cooler undertones and flecks of larger sparkle. It had sheer coverage with a chunky texture that was prone to sheering out and dusting away as I blended it out. I ended up with a more metallic finish than a sparkly one as I buffed the powder onto my skin, so it did not look as glittery as one might expect. It did emphasize my skin’s natural texture a bit but not significantly. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

I’m not a big bronzer fan because even though I have a neutral undertone I prefer cool makeup. Cooler bronzers are harder to find. I like the idea of having a highlighter in the middle of a bronzer though so you can have an option to make the bronzer more or less shimmery. This one would never work for me as it’s too dark and red although looks like a healthy shade on you. But the real winner here is your eye look – WOW!!!!! Love it!
Essence has a new Luminous bronzer that is matte bronzer with a circle highlighter in the center! Very pretty on my pale skin (NC15)!’
Ooh thank you!
For a brand obsessed with unicorns, one would think they’d have a more attractive unicorn shape inbedded into the bronzer…?
That aside, I really love the swatch where the two shades are together. That is something I would actually wear during summer.
I think this is my least favorite product of the collection. From the first promotional images, I thought it looked bizarre!
I think the little highlighter is in there for effect, to fit in with the unicorn theme. But the bronzer seems quite good and the copper pearl finish looks really pretty.
‘How it was described by the brand!’ Love the exclamation point, as clearly you were not expecting it to be as described. Lol. I prefer redder bronzers, and could see using the highlighter with other stuff…..and might not mind the unicorn, once it was a blurry shape, rather than with features. He looks a tad creepy… But, imo, this would have been a better product, without the need for the theme, and a peachy highlighter. Maybe it should have belonged with the endless peach collection, rather than the endless unicorn stuff. Better than expected, indeed. But, enough, already!
I see stuff like this and I can’t help but say “Enough already with the unicorns!” From a “use” point of view, I dislike products like this were the 2 powders are so close as to be difficult to use…..all so they could place a unicorn (and a rather ugly one, at that) to keep with their “theme”.
On the box it’s written “fond de teint” in french, which means “foundation”, lol.
We say “bronzer” in french too, or “poudre de soleil” (“sun powder”).
Too faced, if you are reading this, hire a better translator!
ok I see the unicorn but where are the tears?
Lol!! Your reaction to it actually applying how it was described by the brand is priceless and it speaks volumes about how many of these brands describe the product one way and then it applies a totally different way. I’ve seen it so many times. Like when you were reviewing the Nars Dual-Intensity Blushes and the brand said wet the product for sheer application and dry for intense and the Dual-Intensity eyeshadows applied dry for sheer and wet for intense and they were released first and the formula was supposed to be the same. I’m pretty sure they just messed up the way it was supposed to be applied on the blush description. Or the brand says it’s buildable and it completely opaque as soon as you apply it. I sometimes wonder if they make sure the descriptions are correct before they send the product out to be sold! I don’t know how I feel about this product. The bronzer itself is pretty. I think they were attempting to be different by putting the highlighter in with the bronzer but I think they may have sold better individually. They keep trying to make bronzer with a twist like Sweetie Pie Bronzer from the Peach Collection. I agree that the unicorn is odd looking which is strange because the unicorn and packaging on all of the other products in this collection is really well done.
I passed on this. I’m not a fan of shimmery bronzer.
