Too Faced Gingerbread Man & Gingerbread Girl Liquid Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Gingerbread Man
Too Faced Gingerbread Man Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a deep copper with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, which applied evenly and fluidly across my lips. The consistency was lightweight, fluid without being thin or watery, but it took a bit longer to dry down and it appeared slightly “cracked” along my deeper lip lines (I don’t think it was noticeable from a normal viewing distance). This shade stayed on well for over six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time, and it came through a meal looking fairly intact but could break down more noticeably with a very oily meal. This particular shade has a slightly sweet, spicy scent (no taste).

Formula Overview
$21.00/0.23 oz. - $91.30 Per Ounce
It is supposed to apply like a gloss but dry to “an ultra-matte, opaque finish” that is “never dry, shriveled, or cracked” that should “last for hours.” Most of the shades are unforgiving once they dry down and emphasize lip lines, look “cracked” if you smile, though they feel lighter-weight than they look.
It’s one of the more unflattering liquid lipsticks I have tried as many shades highlighted lip lines, and while the lipstick itself wasn’t extremely clingy, there was a dryness present there that, at times, made my lips tingle/ache.
For me, the wear was between four and six hours, as a lot of the shades faded unevenly and were faster to breakdown than the average liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, more water-like (reminded me of ColourPop’s formula but sometimes thinner) with a fairly quick dry-down time.

Gingerbread Girl
Too Faced Gingerbread Girl Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque color coverage in a single layer that spread evenly across my lips and didn’t sit noticeably in my lip lines (though it didn’t hide them either!). The consistency was lightweight, thin without being watery, and smooth, and I didn’t find it difficult to maneuver it along the edges of my lips. It was transfer-proof after a few minutes of letting it fully dry down, though it was mostly set within a minute of application and could make it through a meal mostly intact (assuming one isn’t eating anything super oily!). It wore well for over six hours, left a faint stain behind, and was non-drying. This particular shade has a slightly sweet, spicy scent (no taste).

Both are really beautiful! Too Faced did a good job with this collection
These are really pretty shades.
Gingerbread Girl looks beautiful in your photos, but I really dislike scented makeup. I think I’ll be adding the ColourPop dupe to my shopping list.
I bought Gingerbread Man last year and it’s a dead on dupe for Smashbox Out Loud too. Like, I put one on my top lip and the other on the bottom and went out that way. And I didn’t look crazy LOL.
Of course I would love Gingerbread Girl, I have 3 of its dupes you listed!
However, Gingerbread Man is a whole nuther story. No dupes for this beauty anywhere to be found in my hoard! Yet, I oddly have a slew of the listed dupes on my wish list….and none purchased yet. ?
Another day I embarrassed myself…by having 5 dupes for Gingerbread Girl… good thing I ddn’t jump on it right away, because I love the boy from last year. prob the only tf i’ve bought in 8-10 years. Aside from the dedicated holiday sets, the new releases have been a major improvement, even if you do have to overlook the scent.
These are really gorgeous shades and I am looking at the dupe list for a creamy lipstick alternative.
I swatched this in store, and the colors were stunning! And packaging was super cute too
I’m not big hippie purchaser, but this one has my interest. Looks so nice on you!
I just got Gingerbread Girl. I tried it on but haven’t really worn it yet. It’s a lot darker on me than I expected, but I think I can make it work. I also ordered the set of minis. I hope I can get my hands on Gingerbread Man at some point because I think I’ll like it the best of all. Is it a Too Faced website exclusive?
