Too Faced Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palette ($49.00 for 0.43 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that’s a follow-up to last year’s Gingerbread Spice palette. After seeing it person, I’m not sure that it really seems “extra spicy” to me (I was expecting something a little darker, I suppose!), but I look forward to trying it out on my eyes and such to see how it performs.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when
a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set
expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up
being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
Well, Too Faced finally does a food related palette (besides peach) that DOESN’T have sodium saccharin inbit, and it’s boring as all heck! Where’s the extra in the spicey? I’m not seeing anything “extra” here, except a bunch of samey warm neutals.
I think its a cute palette, but (it may just be me) I personally do not like holiday packaging on my items. I don’t want to be using a gingerbread Christmas palette in the middle of summer for example, LOL. I also have never been able to get along with Too Faced shadows so this one is an easy pass for me.
I don’t even know why they did this palette. Seriously, I’m shaking my head. Could they have not thought of a winter wonderland or candy cane theme in icy colors? It would still fit their brand.
I love some of the names – “Lick the Spoon” – that is still something I hear even though the kids are long out of the house; if I’m baking, my husband is right there asking…. Midnight Snack looks lovely in the pan but the swatch does look like it might leave a lot to be desired in application. Not surprisingly, there is too much red, orange and pink in this palette for me.
At this point I am beginning to sound like a broken record but too many similar shades. I know there are varying tones of the shades and finishes but again, I doubt they will be much different on the lid. Based solely on swatches, these look okay for a Too Faced Holiday release. In the past the holiday releases have been pretty dismal. I know they have other products launching for the holidays so there is still time for them to mess up, LOL! I have to say, Too Faced has completely fallen off my radar. I don’t remember when I last saw a new product or one that I would be interested in. This is just so boring and the colours have been done to death. Might be nice for a new collector.
I agree – the original Gingerbread palette (which I own/love) is “spicier” than this palette – based on the swatches I doubt I’ll be buying this…the colours seem too neutral/I have dupes, and the pigmentation doesn’t look great to me.
Pretty, but not “extra spicy” to me, either. Before seeing pictures of the palette, I was envisioning something more like a gingerbread version of Chocolate Gold, with richer colors and more metallics. I think I’ll be skipping this one.
With all the ludicrous and unnecessary fragrance gimmicks of this brand, I seriously avoid buying anything by Too Faced. (I think I bought their glitter primer recently, but that was after trying it out in the store to ensure it had no bad stuff. I think I prefer NYX’s version anyway.)
I think Too Faced should collaborate with KFC and do an “extra crispy” palette next. Why not?
This does look like a few of Too Faced’s previous releases, right down to the profusion of orangey shades, which are variations of the same colour. Not for me, however the quality of the shimmery shades looks good. I think the black shade looks out of place here, maybe a chocolate brown shimmer would have been a more versatile addition.

i just used the comparison tool to compare it to Naked Heat…man so many similar shades!
Wow, the swatches are more boring than this looks in the pan. Not enough variety! I think a lot of looks using this would come out super similar.

I swear the whole thing looks like one big orange eyeshadow next to a dark blue shimmer.

Wow, so many similar shades. Cute packaging, but this just seems overwhelmingly boring to me.
I feel the same way, Seraphine. This isn’t “extra” spicy at all!
Lol agreed on the original being the more “spicy” of the two. Odd.
I interpreted spicy as like… richer, darker, smokier, or maybe just bolder in some manner!

How about “our richly pigmented shades are infused with GINGER and CLOVE OIL to nourish your eyelids!”
Spicy eyes!

looks more extra sweet rather than spicy? I expect to own many dupes for the shades. looks cute though.
