Too Faced Freshly Baked & Melted Ice Cream Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Freshly Baked
Too Faced Freshly Baked Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a fluid, smooth consistency that was easy to spread across the lips for even coverage and crisp lines. The downside was the dry down was intensely matte–it cracked around my lip lines and looked dry, clingy while feeling uncomfortably dry on. It lasted for four and a half hours and had some flakes that came away after a meal, but it was quite drying.

It is supposed to apply like a gloss but dry to “an ultra-matte, opaque finish” that is “never dry, shriveled, or cracked” that should “last for hours.” Most of the shades are unforgiving once they dry down and emphasize lip lines, look “cracked” if you smile, though they feel lighter-weight than they look.
It’s one of the more unflattering liquid lipsticks I have tried as many shades highlighted lip lines, and while the lipstick itself wasn’t extremely clingy, there was a dryness present there that, at times, made my lips tingle/ache.
For me, the wear was between four and six hours, as a lot of the shades faded unevenly and were faster to breakdown than the average liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, more water-like (reminded me of ColourPop’s formula but sometimes thinner) with a fairly quick dry-down time.

Freshly Baked
LELimited Edition. $21.00.
Melted Ice Cream
Too Faced Melted Ice Cream Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 oz.) is a light, peachy beige with warmer undertones and a flat, matte finish. It was richly pigmented and had even coverage that was easy to smooth across the lips. I was surprised that it did not appear streaky, as these ultra-light shades often do. The dry down was fast and left the lipstick totally matte. There was slight “cracking” at my deeper lip line but it was more smoothing compared to Freshly Baked. It wore well for five hours but was moderately drying over time.

These looks so freaking dry to me. Mature lips.. these would suck the volume out of them.
Overall, they were a lot more clingy than I expected! I was surprised Melted Ice Cream actually did not appear as dry as others, lol!
While I knew the colors weren’t going to be for me, I am surprised at the low score. for freshly baked. I remember these being more moisturizing than that. Maybe the formula varies with shade?
There is some variance from shade-to-shade, though I’m not a huge fan of the formula overall!
I kind of want the Melted Ice Cream shade but I don’t know if I can justify the amount for free shipping into Canada to make it worth while.
Makes sense 🙁
I hope you are testing lip balms after this collection
Ah, if only!
Freshly Baked looks so uncomfortable. 🙁
It was uncomfortable, haha!
Freshly Baked is such a gorgeous shade, but the actual *texture* and formula of it sounds like torture to wear. Big “Nope”.
I would like to say though; Big kudos to Kandee Johnson for having Stevia used as the sweetener as opposed to using Sodium Saccharin! ?
The texture was SO unforgiving!
Yuck!
Not my cup of tea either!
These look painful to wear. Easy pass.
I know! 🙁
Owwwch! Your poor lips, Christine!! 🙁
My lips are screaming in sympathy!
Thankfully, they are okay!
I have no words for how much I hate this matte lipstick trend. In my opinion it makes everyone look like they are at deaths door. Have not seen one color in matte lipsticks that look good. Young or old yuck. They look dry, aging (something I certainly don’t need) and unflattering. I received a sample of one from Bite, used it once, washed it off and threw it away. Sorry (to those who like this trend) for the rant,
I think it’s important to let others be confident in what they love – just because it doesn’t appeal to you doesn’t mean that others don’t find it beautiful 🙂
Not trying to sway others who like the matte lipstick, just saying there are many people above who said the same things in different ways on this particular post on the too faced melted. I also called it a rant.
As I said, nothing wrong with not liking it on yourself – but telling everyone who wears matte lipstick that they “look like they are at deaths door” isn’t in the spirit of this community 🙂
