Tom Ford Tiger Eye Eye Color Creme Quad Review & Swatches
Tiger Eye
Tom Ford Beauty Tiger Eye Eye Color Crème Eyeshadow Quad ($89.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a very warm-toned neutral quad that includes three shimmers and one more semi-matte shade. The quad features the brand’s new cream-powder formula, which I found quite impressive (see formula overview below). All four eyeshadows were smooth, blendable, and pigmented while being long-wearing and easy to work with.

Tiger Eye #1
Tiger Eye #1 is a medium, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque color payoff with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was more emollient than a typical powder eyeshadow but still performed more like a powder with respect to application; it sat like a cream, though. It stayed on well for nine hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
-
The new Creme finish is supposed use "lush emollients" for a "crease and flake-resistant finish" that is "long-wearing" and "one-swipe" in application. It feels like a cream-to-powder formula but with a ratio of more like 35% cream to 65% powder, as there was a more emollient feel by touch but a stiffer brush could produce a little kick up when swirled in the pan.
The magic was when the formula was applied to bare skin, though, as it "melted" in a way that made the finish appear more seamless and skin-like, smooth without emphasizing skin texture or lines. They applied just fine using typical eyeshadow brushes and application methods that I would have used for a traditional powder eyeshadow.
The pigmentation ranged from semi-opaque to opaque, depending on the shade, but most were buildable if they weren't fully opaque in "one swipe." I found the eyeshadow formula very easy to apply and blend out, too. They lasted between eight and nine hours on me before fading a bit.

Tiger Eye #2
Tiger Eye #2 is a brighter, medium coral with warmer, more orange undertones and lighter, peach-gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. The consistency felt more cream like by the touch, but when I picked it up with a brush, I could get a touch of powder kicked up if I swirled my brush in the pan. The product yielded full color coverage in a single layer, which blended out well and sat seamlessly on my skin. It wore well for nine hours before showing signs of fading.

Tiger Eye #4
Tiger Eye #4 is a darker, chocolaty brown with warm, red undertones and a semi-matte finish. The texture was smooth, almost cream-like when touched, but there was a touch of powderiness when I used it with a dry brush, though the powderiness remained in the pan. The eyeshadow was fully opaque in one layer and stayed on well for nine hours before fading visibly.

This is a truly beautifully done neutral eye quad – worthy of the price tag. Excellent pigmentation, versatile shades and soft shimmer finishes. Love it.
Now THIS is exactly what I want in a quad that runs at nearly $90 smackaroos! This appears to be something that’s very effortless to use, especially for a regular, everyday eye look with a touch of pizzazz.
These new eye quads aren’t color stories for me, but damn if the swatches don’t look so smoooooth!
This 4-some is just not my colours; I actually preferred the earlier one you reviewed, in terms of colours in the quad. But price-wise – way out of my comfort zone.
