Spiced Honey
Tom Ford Beauty Spiced Honey Lip Color ($54.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, though I could not seem to build up beyond that. The consistency had a fair amount of slip, so it had a tendency to move more on the lips, but the color went on more evenly than I would have guessed based on the texture alone. There was slight streaking along the outer edges of my lips and only minimal settling initially as well as over the three and a half hours it wore for. The formula felt nourishing, though.

Formula Overview
$57.00/0.1 oz. - $570.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed have an "ultra-creamy texture" with "smooth application" that will deliver "pure color." The lipstick tends to have semi-opaque to opaque coverage with a natural to luminous finish with some shades with very fine pearl and others with more metallic shimmer. The consistency is typically creamy, lightweight, and has moderate slip, which makes it comfortable to wear and to apply but is not the most long-lasting lipstick formula. The wear tends to range between four and six hours with some shades performing above and below that range. There's a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Bad Lieutenant
Tom Ford Beauty Bad Lieutenant Lip Color ($54.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark pink with soft, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single stroke paired with a lightweight, moderately emollient consistency that skated across the lips with ease. Despite all the slip, the color applied evenly and had very, very minor amounts of color in my deeper lip lines–certainly not enough that it was noticeable from a normal viewing distance. This shade wore well for four hours and was moisturizing over time.

Open Kimono
Tom Ford Beauty Open Kimono Lip Color ($54.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, peachy brown with warmer undertones and golden shimmer. It had medium coverage, which did not build up to greater coverage. The consistency had a lot of slip, so there was visible streaking along the edges of my lips. Between the slip and the amount of shimmer, it was not a particularly flattering shade on the lips as the shimmer seemed to clump up in places and made my lips appear more textured. This shade stayed on well for three hours but was hydrating.

Great photo for Open Kimono. What you say is clearly visible. Do we have a case for questionable shade name again?
Yeah, I find that name offensive, as well, KJH. Towards women, Asians, and more particularly; Women of Asian descent. Just wrong, Mr.TF.
AGREE! Why is it so difficult for companies to avoid questionable or just plain racist/sexist/etc. names? It seems like something that should be 100% preventable. And yet here we are….
I’m tempted to get Bad Lieutenant just for the name, not that the movie makes me think “lipstick”… I guess I don’t have tooooooo many neutral lipsticks… (Yes, I do…)
I’m glad Open Kimono did poorly, as I find the name very bothersome.
Bad Lieutenant looks good, however, since I already have PMG Luxetrance in Sextrology on my WL at a considerably lower price and looking better, that’s likely my splurge next month! (Or OMI?)
Oh wow, I love all three of these!
Why oh why are brands continuing to use offensive names for their products that are clearly worn by women? Not good enough.
Now the lipsticks – all of these are fairly similar to each other and some of them are not worth the money in terms of quality.
Thank you for the review Christine.
You spoke for me as well on both concerns.
These shades don’t suit my skintone at all, so easy pass.
A D from TF!?!?! Yikes.
