Tom Ford Body Heat Eye Color Quad Review & Swatches
Body Heat (03)
Tom Ford Beauty Body Heat (03) Eye Color Quad ($88.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, permanent quad that features a peach, reddish-brown, taupe, and muted brown. All four shades have some shimmer to them, though one (the fourth) has more of a satin finish. The eyeshadows were pigmented, smooth, blendable, and easy to work with and worked well together. The formula seemed ever-so-slightly more finely-milled and silky, almost more yielding than past iterations of this formula by the brand.

Body Heat #1
Body Heat #1 is a soft, rosy peach with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque pigmentation applied dry and wet with a smooth, denser consistency that wasn’t firm or stiff to work with. The product picked up easily with a brush and applied evenly to bare skin. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly on me.

Body Heat #2
Body Heat #2 is a medium-dark, reddish-brown with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, firmer texture that wasn’t stiff to work with, so the product still applied evenly and blended out beautifully on my skin. The coverage and application seemed to be the same used dry as well as wet. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit.

Body Heat #3
Body Heat #3 is a dark taupe with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had opaque color coverage with a smooth, even application regardless of whether I used it dry or wet. The consistency felt smooth to the touch with a denser, firmer press but never to the point where it was stiff or difficult to pick up (just no powderiness or fallout). It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Body Heat #4
Body Heat #4 is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation applied dry and opaque coverage when applied with a dampened brush. The eyeshadow had a smooth, firmer consistency but was a smidgen drier compared to the other three shades in the palette. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before it showed signs of fading.

Christine, thanks for reviewing! The formula is amazing. Did you experience this as the same formular as Nude Dip?
I thought so, so I did arm swatch comparisons. It seems like ND 2 = BH 1, and ND 4 = BH 4. They swatched the same on my arm but look a bit different on the lid. Also, BH 3 has a significant blue undertone which I noticed by blowing it out with a blending brush – so color-story-wise it’s different than ND, though as first blush it looked 50% similar.
Just curious your thoughts!
Hi Valerie,
Above, in the first paragraph, I mentioned: “The formula seemed ever-so-slightly more finely-milled and silky, almost more yielding than past iterations of this formula by the brand.”
Any similarities would be on each shade’s respective Dupe List – you’ll want to click “view all dupes” as the lists in the review show the top 10 only!
Hi Christine, thanks for the response. I saw that comment but since you didn’t specify Nude Dip formula, rather “past interactions”, I wasn’t sure if that’s what you were referring to. I’m assuming you’re saying it’s the same as Nude Dip. Those 2 shades are identical as arm swatches, and in combination with the same formula, it means 50% of ND = 50% of BH. I did a palette comparison and it shows that way too. I was just wondering your own experience with the colors.
Tom Ford has two formulas – regular powder and the gel-powder, so I was referring to the gel-powder formula (I don’t refer to Nude Dip but rather the type of formula in general, as there have been several quads released with it!) and that Body Heat was consistent (generally) with that, though I did find Body Heat’s formula to be slightly better (as noted in the review). That is not saying that it is identical in color, though, as if I was, they would be showing that way on the Dupe List – so they weren’t the same for me in my experience.
For your reference, here are links to each shade in Body Heat’s list of dupes filtered by Tom Ford as a brand, so you can see ALL of the dupes I pulled and how similar they were in my experience, just as you asked! Again, only the top 10 dupes will show in the review — that’s why there’s a button that says “view all dupes” and the title of the section is “top dupes” and not all dupes! 🙂

I really like this palette, especially #3, and the eye look you created is so pretty, but there is no way I would pay $88 for it!
It’s nice to see TF scoring high after some really shamefully bad products but these colours are totally “conjunctivitis-looking” for me and I find the price just outrageous even given the A rating.
…and for this price especially, #3 & #4 are far too similar. I see it as a lack of thought/care that elsewhere is reflected in the shockingly uneven quality of his overpriced line. On principle I’d never buy anything of his.
Hi- how similar is the Body Heat quad to Honeymoon? It look a little similar -maybe with more brownish tones than gold/bronze?

I am happy to see these shades review so well. I don’t have any desire to purchase it as the shades, while pretty, are not shades I need. I am anxious to see how the other 3 new palettes review, if you plan on reviewing them, Christine?
I seriously did not want to like this quad. Yeah, well, too late for that! If I ever did get it during the next Sephora sale in November…but based on my track record of getting sidelined by something new and LE every sale, I wonder!
This is a beautiful palette that could be used all year round. I did think that shades 3 & 4 are somewhat similar to each other, but other than that, it is a welcome return to the best of Tom Ford. Stunning eye look too Christine.
I’m really pleased w/Body Heat. I have very yellow-based, slightly dark medium coloring. The warmth in the quad works for me. #s 3 and 4 are quite different.
Shadows are pigmented, but far easier to use for a non-pro than Pat McGrath. I’m picky on texture and Color Pop shadows, for example, are powdery mess for me to apply. With 20 per cent off from Sephora this is a good buy esp. as I’m using all four colors.
What is the Period After Opening for this palette? Thank you.
No idea, not something I keep track of!
Thanks for your reply, Chistine. You should mention this information, though. As a person with sensitive eyes, I keep track of it and get rid of the eye shadows after the PAO mentioned on the package. Also, I would never buy an expensive eye shadow with a 6 month PAO. It is not worth it.
If it’s important to you, you can always reach out to the manufacturer/brand to get the information that you need! 🙂 This information is not on the box, so I can’t provide it to you because I do not have the information! Please reach out to the brand if this is a matter of concern.
The palette is beautiful but the real winner is the eye look that you put together by bringing in some duochrome and then the lower lashline color. Stunning!!
This looks very pretty! I have cocoa mirage so a shimmer palette would be a good compliment to it.
