Tom Ford Aurora & Glimmer Lumiere Lips Reviews & Swatches
Aurora
Tom Ford Beauty Aurora Lumiere Lip ($55.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, translucent base that seemed to have a subtle, lavender tint. On my lips, the tint translated to a deepening of my natural lip color and made it appear more mauve/cooler compared to normal. The consistency was lightweight, balmy, and emollient with moderate slip, so it was comfortable to apply and to wear. The product only seemed to stay on my lips for an hour and a half to two hours, and I didn’t feel sustained hydration over time.

Formula Overview
$55.00/0.1 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "translucent" and is a "lip balm [that] reacts to the wearer's pH" so that it has a "personalized wash of color." In my experience, a lot of products that are supposed to react to the pH all end up pretty similar when applied and are very subtle in difference, if at all, when applied to my lips. They live up to the translucent part of the spiel, but they have really short wear time--an hour or two before it feels gone--and not that much hydration. I actually really love Tom Ford's Lip Balm (in a squeeze tube), but these just fell short for me. They had a very subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Aurora
LELimited Edition. $55.00.
Glimmer
Tom Ford Beauty Glimmer Lumiere Lip ($55.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, translucent base that seems very subtly peach-tinted, but against my warmer skin tones, that tint seems to get completely lost. When applied to my lips and left for 15 minutes, it deepens my natural lip color and gives a soft, natural shine. I didn’t find that this shade differenced noticeably from the original, Universel, shade or the Rougir shade. Aurora runs ever-so-slightly cooler on. The formula lasted an hour and a half hour on me before it felt like it had absorbed or else disappeared, but I expected it to feel more hydrating during and after–I just felt the need for more balm/hydration after it had worn down.

A $55 dollar store type very subtly color-changing, not exactly moisturizing lip balm? One that after the first hour or two needs a more moisturizing balm over it? Major Tom, are you lost in deep space or just lost period? Reminds me of the “Emperor’s New Clothes”. ?
Right? That price for this item is absolutely bonkers.
The perfect comment! ? Exactly what I was thinking.
That sums up my feelings.
I really like Aurora, but not for that price…lol
Yeaaaaah, I can get behind some luxury products, but these are just silly.
The dupes list leaves me realizing that almost anything that slightly affects the tone of your lips is a dupe, and most dupes would probably leave your lips feeling healthier. I can’t think of better example of a product that it 110% about the name on the package.
Pretty. The lavender was unexpected but $55.00 is too expensive for me.
