I’ve finished reviewing all 14 shades of Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.06 oz.), so it’s time for a recap!

The formula is supposed to have a “petal-soft matte finish” with “mega rich color” that is long-wearing and will not bleed or feather. They are creamy, smooth, and velvety without being heavy. The majority of shades applied evenly across the lips, never skipped, and didn’t get into my lip lines. I do not normally experience feathering/bleeding, and I did not experience either with this range. Most of the shades were very pigmented with true, one-stroke pigmentation, which was particularly impressive for some of the more non-traditional shades in the line-up. They’re a soft matte–matte without being flat but not truly glossy or shiny–and have good wear time (four to eight hours, depending on the shade) and were mostly non-drying.

Worth noting is that these are in a slim-style bullet, which means that they don’t contain as much as traditional lipsticks do–these contain 0.06 oz. and retail for $18.00, which yields a cost of $300.00/oz. If you’re not someone who tends to finish their lipsticks, paying less is often a better “value” than paying more and not using what you paid for. A few comparisons: NARS Audacious Lipstick ($242.86 oz., $34.00/0.14 oz.), Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($173.33/oz., $26.00/0.15 oz.), Pat McGrath Matte/LuxeTrance Lipstick ($271.43/oz., $38.00/0.14 oz.), Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme ($250.00/oz., $30.00/0.12 oz.). Fenty’s slimmer tube seems to contain less than the average slim-style tube, too (typically 0.07 oz. to 0.09 oz. but rarely below 0.07 oz.).

Plenty of gorgeous shades (love Shawty) and excellent ratings. I only wonder, would the lipstick be more inclinded to break if it is in that slim style?
Having less product is an advantage for those who don’t always finish their lipsticks, as you have said Christine.
Thank you for the reviews.

I don’t need any of these, and won’t be getting any (though Spanked is calling my name), but I will say that for a really good product that rates highly, I think it makes sense for someone like me (lotsa makeup to choose from and use on a daily basis) to spend less per piece, regardless of what that works out to on a per-ounce basis.

These were so dry on me. I’m so disappointed that none of Fenty has really worked for me. The items I do have are because I wanted something Fenty.

Interesting perspective on the amount… though the comparisons make me want more Bite (I am finishing my Bite lipsticks). I got s1ngle the other day and put it on immediately. Felt great and wore for the rest of the day, to the point that I forgot I was wearing it and almost forgot to take it off.

I’ve literally never finished a lipstick in my life, so the price for less product doesn’t bother me. I think I’ll give in and pick up Midnight Wasabi when I’m down in Portland in March (no sales tax, so I love to do a Sephora run when I’m there!).

Wow! I got Griselda as a point perk at Sephora and have been loving it! If that’s near-worst of the range, maybe I have to check out some of the other shades! It was definitely not long wearing, but sooo comfortable and smooth on the lips without smudging/bleeding everywhere (the reason I usually go for matte when wearing bold or dark shades). Freckle Fiesta is beautiful.

First off, I’m in some deep doody because I love far too many of these! Rihanna NAILED it! And the worst part? One of my top 2 fave shades PMS, I already own UD Disturbed and MAC Deep Love. Sooo…what to do about that? Mind you; I do rock those a ton during winter.
Freckle Fiesta is getting bought first out of the 5 (yep, FIVE).
