Candy Venom
Fenty Beauty Candy Venom Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. It had good pigmentation–just shy of truly opaque coverage–that applied evenly across the lips, but the more emollient quality of the lipstick made it more prone to getting into my lip lines. I didn’t notice the settling much from a normal viewing distance, due to the color being rather bright and rich. This was one of the more slippery shades in the range, though it certainly felt comfortable to apply and to wear. On me, it wore well for over six hours, left a stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview

It's supposed to have a "petal-soft matte finish" with "mega rich color" that is long-wearing and will not bleed or feather. They are creamy, smooth, and velvety without being heavy. The majority of shades applied evenly across the lips, never skipped, and didn't get into my lip lines. I do not normally experience feathering/bleeding, and I did not experience either with this range.
Most of the shades were very pigmented with true, one-stroke pigmentation, which was particularly impressive for some of the more non-traditional shades in the line-up. They're a soft matte--matte without being flat but not truly glossy or shiny--and have good wear time (four to eight hours, depending on the shade) and were mostly non-drying.
Worth noting is that these are in a slim-style bullet, which means that they don't contain as much as traditional lipsticks do--these contain 0.06 oz. and retail for $18.00, which yields a cost of $300.00/oz. If you're not someone who tends to finish their lipsticks, paying less is often a better "value" than paying more and not using what you paid for.
A few comparisons: NARS Audacious Lipstick ($242.86 oz., $34.00/0.14 oz.), Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($173.33/oz., $26.00/0.15 oz.), Pat McGrath Matte/LuxeTrance Lipstick ($271.43/oz., $38.00/0.14 oz.), Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme ($250.00/oz., $30.00/0.12 oz.). Fenty's slimmer tube seems to contain less than the average slim-style tube, too (typically 0.07 oz. to 0.09 oz. but rarely below 0.07 oz.).

Ma'damn
Fenty Beauty Ma’damn Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was opaque in a single stroke with a smooth, velvety texture that was creamy without being slippery or heavy in feel. The lipstick glided across my lips easily and delivered even coverage that stayed on well for over six hours. It left a reddish stain behind, and it had only started to feel a bit drying after eight hours of wear.

Spanked
Fenty Beauty Spanked Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick ($18.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across the lips without dragging or tugging on my lips. The consistency was lightweight, creamy, and had more slip than most shades in the range, which made it almost too creamy during application. There was a bit of color that pulled into my deeper lip lines initially, but it seemed to smooth out after a few minutes and stay that way for the remainder of the wear (five hours). The formula was neither drying nor hydrating.

These all look utterly delightful. Yum.
I’m getting the mini of Griselda before going head first into these. They all look pretty good so far.
I have the Griselda mini and I really like it. So creamy and pigmented. It convinced me that I need to buy some!
I really like the red but I am on a lipstick no-buy as my resolution in 2018. To quote Dwight from The Office, “Don’t want it. Won’t open it. Don’t need it. Won’t take it.”
Besides, my final lipstick of 2017 was Fenty Ya Dig, which is waaay more unique. Can’t break the no-buy for something less special than your last purchase. 😉
Glad to know there’s someone else on a lipstick no-buy in 2018! Count me in 🙂
Yes! Strength in numbers! Haha.
I love the Mad’damm shade – and the others are pretty lovely for pink wearers too.
Candy Venom and Ma’damn look great, don’t seemto have that dry matte look I turn away from.
I saw a good dupe for spanked is colourpop’s goal digger. They are almost identical so I bought goal digger in hops that it is!! I have colourpop’s poppin but have been eyeing candy venom and I may have to get it because although they are similar candy venom is darker lol. I’m rationalizing.
I’m kinda over Fenty.
Candy Venom is my kinda bright! Love it.. but have Pat McGrath Psycho Candy. The red is also the kind I can wear; red, cooler, more muted, but holy crap it looks so much like Pat McGrath Elson which I also have.
No Country for Old Men Carla Jean’s mom: “Do you know how many people I know in El Paso (makes zero sign with hand) That’s how many”. Well, that’s how many Fenty products I own 🙁
I only picked up Spanked from this collection and I’m in love. I live for a plum-nude situation!
I really like Spanked, and I’m hoping it doesn’t settle too much into my lip lines. I have hope after you said that it smoothed out awhile later.
I’m definitely feeling market saturation — with the number of new brands releasing tons of new items on fashion season schedules. That said, I got Clapback and the Griselda sample size (the Sephora reward one). Clapback is perfect, my “wardrobe update” for the season. The deep red Griselda was less exciting, as I think I have other finishes I prefer the look of for that type of color.
I also got the Griselda 100 mini. I love it, the colour is exactly the right kind of dramatic on me and the formula is quite nice. There isn’t a ton of slip for me, but I usually go for tinted balms. I don’t normally like matte lippies so I’m glad I took a chance on it. The colour range looks bomb, thanks for the reviews!
Candy Venom! OMG. I have Radish, though, so I’m good.
I’m baffled as to *how* the heck did I not see this review 4 days ago? Actually only had my first inkling when yesterday I saw Spanked showing up in the “Week In Review” post.
Anywho; I thought for sure Spanked would go directly onto my WL, but instead, it’s Candy Venom that’s attracting my attention! Warm, bright fuchsia lipsticks tend to do that, though.
I’ve got enough great red lipsticks to work through before even considering Ma’Damn.
