Secret

Sydney Grace Secret Pressed Blush ($9.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark pink with warmer undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen. It was intensely pigmented to the point where a little went a long way, so I’d recommend using a lighter hand and/or a less-dense brush and building up coverage as desired (always easier to build up than it is to sheer out!).

The texture was smooth, almost cream-like, so it wasn’t too powdery and was easier to pick up less product from if desired. The powder applied evenly and blended out easily on bare skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

$9.00/0.25 oz. - $36.00 Per Ounce

It's a more pigmented blush, so it favors those who need or want richer coverage achieved with less product or in one layer, but those who prefer sheerer, more buildable blush may find there is a learning curve. The formula was very blendable and easy to work with, so I think it is more forgiving, particularly shades with some shimmer in them. The matte shades can be slightly powdery but do not look dry or dusty when applied, though they can darken a bit if not applied over drier or more matte skin (or a base). They wore between eight and 10 hours on me before fading noticeably.

Stunning! I have nothing like it. Therefore, since I believe that I would absolutely love it, it’s on the list to get! Makes me think of spring 🌺

IKEWYM. Except always and forever, that doesn’t show up on me. Thinking of You is as pigmented as pure love, but matte. Paris Skies may have equal pigment, but it’s lighter. With the Wayne Air, PS shows major gold shimmer. Denser brushes get more of the base color. But w/SG, I’m better off sticking with the shades recommended for light skintones. You whisper at these, and they answer with a roar.

I agree that PS shows major gold shimmer with the Wayne Air and I find that buffing works much better with that blush, so I just barely tap the SG Face Two on the pan and then apply and buff. I think you helped me to better explain why I find the buffing technique to work best for me with PS. I want the gold shimmer to be very subtle and let that gorgeous shade of lavender pink show better.

Another pretty blush from Sydney Grace! With Paris Skies I have to just touch my Sonia G Face Two brush to the pan and then do a lot of buffing on the cheek, but it’s a really beautiful shade. I had also tried it with the WG Air Brush and the Sonia G Sculpt three, but while those two brushes might pick up a little less product they’re not made for buffing – more for sweeping – and I think I get the best effect with PS by buffing.
