Sydney Grace Blaze, Juggler, & Magic Eyeshadow Pressed Pigments Reviews & Swatches
Blaze
Sydney Grace Blaze Pressed Pigment ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish-copper with flecks of pink and gold sparkle over a more metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, while the consistency was smooth, more densely and firmly pressed into the pan. It worked best with a flat brush and pressing/patting motions as there was a bit of fallout if I swept the product on. While blending out the edges, I noticed that some of the sparkles came loose, and there were a few stray sparkles that had fallen over the nine hours the color wore well for (before starting to look faded).

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.
Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Juggler
Sydney Grace Juggler Pressed Pigment ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, light blue with cool undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented where a little went a long way, while the texture was lightly creamy, dense without being too thick or too stiff in the pan, so it was an easy product to work with on bare skin. The color lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Magic Act
Sydney Grace Magic Act Pressed Pigment ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, pink-purple with subtle, warm undertones and cooler, lavender pearl that gave it a subtle, shimmery finish. The consistency was denser to the touch, smooth but more firmly-pressed into the pan, so it worked better with a more moderate hand but there was no powderiness or fallout to worry about. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and stayed on well for nine hours on me.

It’s a great start to the day when you see some SG eyeshadows to be reviewed – always good.
Lovely bright shades. Thank you Christine.
I love Sydney Grace, but I just bought a whole mess of stuff from their black friday sale. These three beauties are going on my list for next time.
Magic Act and Blaze are simply gorgeous! I do have a dupe for Blaze. Won’t purchase Magic Act until I’m sure that none of the shades in PMG Dark Galaxy are dupes for it. I suspect one of them may possibly be.
I’d like to eventually try this brand out. They have a great reputation! The reason I hesitate is that I tend to go with palettes rather than single eye shadows. Their eye creams look good also. And my daughters name is Sydney!
I get that! Unless you have a very specific color combination you’re building for yourself, trying to create something can be overwhelming! I know I had a tough time buying a “starter” amount to review – so many pretty shades! – and that was still a world of 50+ shades I think, LOL!
All three of these are really beautiful. Magic Act is definitely on my want list now.
I got into SG through the back door. When Tarte had their April Fools Day IG, I read about a couple of indies that actually did a blue/green bundle, and after far more research than was warranted, chose SG’s NoJoke. Then Christine started reviewing them, and my love has only grown. SG can do such nuances with intensity. Juggler is a sock’em in the face bright, and their dupe Hydra is pretty much the same shade, with the intensity and metallic levels dialed way down. To me, SG understands magnitude, how the shades can vary along dimensions, such as bright…mute, metallic…flat, warmer…cooler better than anybody. Sounds crazy, but I think their conceptual framework of color is the best in the business. I know I did not put it well, but I think you get the idea.
