The Artistique Blush formula is supposed to have a “naturally glowing finish.” The formula is consistent: the blushes have a very soft, almost cream-like powder texture that blends out effortlessly to a luminous sheen with semi-opaque to opaque coverage (that is easily applied more sheerly or layered for true-to-pan color) and good wear (eight to nine hours). Angelique had good color payoff with a really silky, smooth, and blendable texture that sat well on the skin–it didn’t emphasize pores but still produced a noticeable glow. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

A note on packaging: Surratt’s range comes in lightweight plastic pans, which aren’t ideal for long-term use (particularly if traveling or putting in a makeup bag), as his products are designed to be put into custom palette solutions. Personally, I put magnets on the back of each and keep them in freestyle palettes (like a Z-Palette) as it is more economical.

The blushes in this range are so pretty, but I just can’t get past this brand wanting people to buy their $22 custom palette solution/use a different custom palette. At least do like UD and their eyeshadows and have a somewhat stable packaging the pans can pop out of if you want to use the custom palettes.

It’s a pretty peachy shade, but I think Surratt needs to re-think the pricing on this. First, this shrunk from .20 oz to .14 oz, and it’s +60% more expensive per oz than a Tom Ford blush. This is $49 for .14 oz ( $ 32 blush +$17 travel compact) vs. $ 60 for .28 oz. I like some of the more unique shades in this line, but this is crazy.
