Sugarpill Capsule Collection C2 Palette Review & Swatches
C2
Sugarpill C2 Capsule Collection ($42.00 for 0.5 oz.) is a new, permanent palette that has a mix of matte and shimmer shades. The majority of the shades performed well; they were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. Karma was more powdery than other shades, which resulted in sheerer application and some fallout, while Skyrise had a denser, thicker texture that took some getting used to but both were workable without jumping through too many hoops.

Karma
Karma is a peachy-orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It was moderately powdery, so there was light fallout during application if I wasn’t careful to tap off the excess prior to applying it to the lid. The pigmentation was buildable from semi-opaque to opaque, but it was a shade that worked better over primer. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Metro
Metro is a rich, medium-dark yellow with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, velvety, and dense without being too firmly-pressed into the pan. It had rich pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely without sheering out too readily. The eyeshadow lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Skyrise
Skyrise is a bright, medium blue-teal with cooler undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had a denser, more firmly-pressed consistency that was thicker compared to other shades, so it needed a heavier hand to pick up product evenly (or else a dampened brush or fingertip).
It had nearly opaque pigmentation that could have applied more evenly, and it applied best by pressing and patting it into place with a flat, firm brush. The color started to fade noticeably after eight and a half hours of wear but didn’t seem to suffer from fallout.

Insomniac
Insomniac is a bright, chartreuse green with moderate, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The consistency was smooth, dense without being too firmly pressed into the pan, and blendable on my skin. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit, and it left a faint stain behind.

Young Blood
Young Blood is a medium, coppery red with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque in one layer, which adhered well to my crease and blended out well to create a diffused edge.
The texture was soft, slightly thinner compared to other shades and a smidgen drier, but it wasn’t too powdery and wasn’t prone to fallout during application. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Double Shot
Double Shot is a medium-dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out fairly easily. The texture was soft, slightly drier to the touch, but it wasn’t too powdery nor too firmly pressed into the pan. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Retrograde
Retrograde is a medium coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was opaque, while the texture was smooth, dense without being too firmly pressed into the pan, and effortless to blend.
As a blush, it could be applied with a lighter hand for more buildable coverage, and it produced a more luminous finish that didn’t read overtly shimmery. This shade stayed on well for nine hours before fading a bit.

Moon Shine
Moon Shine is a light-medium, plummy-brown base with blue-to-green shifting pearl. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product. The texture was soft, lightly creamy without being powdery, which sat well on my skin. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Elevate
Elevate is a light-medium peach with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic sheen. It had an incredibly soft, more loosely-pressed consistency that “melted” as it was applied and blended onto my skin. I’d recommend using a lighter hand when working with this shade to avoid kicking up excess product in the pan. It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Side Eye
Side Eye is a light, pinky-mauve with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was a shade that looked pinker at times, then slightly taupe, and then at other moments, maybe it was more mauve. It had good color coverage that was buildable to opaque coverage with less than half of a layer on top.
The texture was soft without being too powdery, though there was a bit of excess kicked up in the pan; thankfully, it didn’t translate to fallout during application. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Oh, I see a lot of fun I could have with this palette! Perfect shades for summer, too. Considering the present circumstances, I am really glad that this is a permanent palette and not limited edition, because I would really like to see this in person before getting it.
love love love this! i only wish some of the smaller neutrals were swapped with the blue and green shades.
Oh, I’m definitely happy about this rating, especially that stunning yellow! This baby’s now jumped up into the list of palettes I seriously want to look into when time comes and my no-buy is over. It’s still too fresh of a release to make it a “when” and not an “if”, but this has both few enough shades and a concise role enough that I can easily imagine the kind of role it would fill in my collection as I work towards my ideal, minimalist makeup inventory. I’ve realized I don’t really find huge palettes as exciting as good color stories with less shades, and the fact that this is essentially just a wonky 9-pan with a blush is definitely within my preferred size for eyeshadow palettes. I love that it’s a permanent release; I can take my time panning and downsizing and seeing if there will be space for this one in the future.
I’m so in love with this palette. I have a feeling it will be contender for best palette of the year for me. I really think Skyrise is amazing — mine goes on more easily than it sounds like yours did — and I hope SP will consider making it a single. Retrograde has been my favorite blush lately (along with SG Paris Skies). Surprisingly, I ended up liking this palette more than C1 (Pink). I need to try the two together next.
It’s good to see this performs so well – especially shades like that yellow, which can be tricky – and your eye look is really nice. 😀
A really bright, summery palette from Sugarpill and the shades rated well. Not for me, though. I think the Retrograde blush is perfect. Stunning eye look Christine.
Oh wow I like this and the pink capsule . I wonder if they will release another capsule as well ?
I talked myself out of this and its cooler predecessor C1.
It’s driving me absolutely crazy that I can’t find ingredient info about this palette ANYWHERE. I really like this palette and despite not needing any more, I would totally buy it IF I can use that blush shade on my face.
You & me both!
I’m really liking the shades, and mix of mattes and shimmers here; but I’m not keen on the palette design. Is there a pinhole on the back to pop out the pans?
Sorry, I don’t know! I don’t want to take the labels off of mine to find out…
