Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is a new release for summer with 16 shades. I bought 15 of the 16, with Feelin’ Myself being the one that was already sold out when I went to purchase. Full reviews to come!

Drop Dead Red looks like it could be a dupe for Colourpop LAX, which I’ve had my eyes on for a while. But since Colourpop don’t ship internationally, this might be my chance to wear that colour!

not just you. They definitely look patchy/streaky. I’ve not had much look with any of the $20-$25 range of liquid lips. They all seem streaky. But a lot of stuff under that price I’ve tried hasn’t been…go figure.

Some of these look pretty; others look dry, cracked, and uneven….but seriously…LADY BALLS????? WHO WANTS TO SAY THAT’S WHAT THEY HAVE ON THEIR LIPS???? (Am I having a kids get off my lawn moment?)

Carrie Avatar

Nope. I’m generally more forgiving of risque names, but that is just TOO obnoxious, like a teen named it. I’d just tell the asker that it’s Too Faced but forgot the shade name. It’s especially disappointing when a brand not known for “edgy” names goes this route!

well I’ve been wearing mattes since high school, almost 20 years now. Still seems easier to find creamy lipsticks than mattes imo.

Caroline Avatar

Liquified lipstick? That’s just another name for lip gloss, albeit in a drier format! These don’t look very comfortable to wear, anyway, so it’s an easy pass.

Shannon Avatar

Ya I’m so tired of Liquid Lipsticks! They are all starting to look the same! They dry my lips out! I like the packaging but that’s it. 🙁

Ouch, these look like lip torture!!! Reminds me of the Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I guess if you like the ultra matte look, most of these colors look pretty good, with a few exceptions. I love Unicorn, but hoping I have some dupes that are in a more forgiving formula.

Now, I’m not the biggest fan of the matte liquid lipstick (because it’s a hard formula for chronically dry, chapped lips to pull off!), but I feel like most, if not all, of these colors have been done. And judging by swatches alone, other formulas look less drying and patchy. Perhaps I’m a little jaded because just about every brand has jumped on this bandwagon, so it’s unlikely there are any colors left that would be dupe-less.

Wish you had done a full face view. The closeups really magnify texture, and the light shades certainly pull into lip lines. The distance shot is how most people look at/experience your lips, not so up close? The blue did not seem to apply fully. These follow the general guidelines as to which shades are easy to produce, which are not. CP & KVD look like reasonable alternatives. KVD has a few shades similar to Drop Dead Red, my fave of this collection. Get your balm ready before these, ladies and gents.

I love matte lips. I have three shades but took back back one of them. And gave one away Domingues I only have one shade now. Lol. I rather my Kat Von D or makeup forever aqua rouge. Actually I rather a matte lipstick or lip liner. I don’t do gloss because they all create this horrible ring after wearing for a while. ?. Mattes just last longer and I don’t have to worry about checking my lips every other minute. Maybe it’s just me..

I am generally a fan of Too Faced, but these do not look strong. I am only just now getting into liquid lipsticks (bought my first two Kat Von D’s a couple weeks ago) and while I am years late to the party, I think I’d be ready to leave soon. I get why people like the staying power, but so far I have been layering gloss and other lipsticks over my liquid lipstick to avoid that dry, dead look.

I just bought two La Creme Lipsticks (sale shades — $11 each!) to make up for all of the dryness in this post…the dark shades in particular look awful. My lips just aren’t made for liquid mattes in general, though.

Some of these look kind of patchy and dry, so I’m a bit hesitant. My favorites are Sell Out and Who’s Zoomin’ Who. I hope those at least do decently! Some of those light ones though, yikes! ?

Fran Avatar

At least some of the brighter colors don’t look dry as the Sahara! (Can you tell matte is not my favorite texture for lipstick?) Who’s Zoomin’ Who is a beautifully interesting color, although it looks like it may have performance issues — it could be a great mixing color, especially with some of the cool neutrals from Color Pop, if the two formulas are compatible.

Stacy Avatar

Wow… I hate to say it, Christine, but some of these manage to look unattractive even on *your* beautiful lips! That can’t be easy for a formula to do, but somehow they managed it :\

Brittany Avatar

Whooof, some of these look kinda bad. I remember seeing the day they came out on Sephora that there was 0.4 oz of product and I was thinking that’s crazy, that it must be a huge tube. 😛 I imagined it had to be a similar size to KVD. I’m happy to see that I already have some good color alternatives for colors I liked. I can skip Evil Twin because I have KVD Damned, for example.

BeckBeck Avatar

Oh man. I could never pull these off – the matte/dry finish would make me crazy – but in a different formula I would wear the heck out of Lady Balls or Bend and Snap just because of what they’re called.

Casey Avatar

I like lady balls (ughhh weird name, but red is my color) and queen B. Bf would rather see me in the queen B shade though but I love rocking the red lip
