Sneak Peek: Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks Photos & Swatches
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is a new release for summer with 16 shades. I bought 15 of the 16, with Feelin’ Myself being the one that was already sold out when I went to purchase. Full reviews to come!
Drop Dead Red looks like it could be a dupe for Colourpop LAX, which I’ve had my eyes on for a while. But since Colourpop don’t ship internationally, this might be my chance to wear that colour!
Laura, where are you from? I’m in Canada and colour pop shipped to me – and very quickly I might add!
Some beautiful colors. Queen B and Cool girl are the ones I would pick up if I were to buy any.
Maybe it’s just me but some of those look drying and very patchy.
It’s not just you Leslie! I feel the same.
not just you. They definitely look patchy/streaky. I’ve not had much look with any of the $20-$25 range of liquid lips. They all seem streaky. But a lot of stuff under that price I’ve tried hasn’t been…go figure.
Some of these look pretty; others look dry, cracked, and uneven….but seriously…LADY BALLS????? WHO WANTS TO SAY THAT’S WHAT THEY HAVE ON THEIR LIPS???? (Am I having a kids get off my lawn moment?)
Same here! It’s one thing for UD to have a lipstick called ’69’ but ‘Lady Balls’?? Distasteful, Too Faced.
Hahaha! i was just saying that exact same thing to my friend. Guess that’s one to skip wearing to work… 0:)
Nope. I’m generally more forgiving of risque names, but that is just TOO obnoxious, like a teen named it. I’d just tell the asker that it’s Too Faced but forgot the shade name. It’s especially disappointing when a brand not known for “edgy” names goes this route!
Will not be purchasing….im tired of liquid lipsticks. They dry the hell out of my lips and always look patchy.
Me either . These look dry and show every lip line! Not feeling liquid lipsticks. I like the creamy Melted Lipsticks.
Not gonna lie…most of these are unimpressive. For the price their asking for I was expecting better quality.
I wish Queen B looked as good on my lips as it does on yours! I actually ended up liking sell out a lot more than Queen B, although it does remind me of ColourPop Bumble. I like Bend and Snap too!
Queen B looks nice but oy, when is the matte lips trend going to end?? I’m not a big fan.
well I’ve been wearing mattes since high school, almost 20 years now. Still seems easier to find creamy lipsticks than mattes imo.
Same for me, Jessica. I’m so over this trend and cannot wait for it to go bye-bye.
Liquified lipstick? That’s just another name for lip gloss, albeit in a drier format! These don’t look very comfortable to wear, anyway, so it’s an easy pass.
Love the packaging on these, and I love some of these names, like “Bend and Snap” and “Lady Balls”.
The darker shades look kind of patchy. Hopefully, these are the kind of formula that tolerates two coats. I’m not terribly impressed at this point, but I do like the brights. Most of the names are great, too. I’m not sure about “Lady Balls,” though. :/
Ya I’m so tired of Liquid Lipsticks! They are all starting to look the same! They dry my lips out! I like the packaging but that’s it. 🙁
Unicorn, Sellout and Drop Dead Red are somewhat interesting, but I’m going to wait and see what your experience with these is before I drop any $$$’s on these. Mrs. Roper is a hoot! May need that for old-time sake, haha!
Ouch, these look like lip torture!!! Reminds me of the Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I guess if you like the ultra matte look, most of these colors look pretty good, with a few exceptions. I love Unicorn, but hoping I have some dupes that are in a more forgiving formula.
Pretty Zombie Cosmetics “Purple Poison” is pretty close to Unicorn and it’s only $12. PZC is my favorite brand for liquid lipstick.
Thanks for the tip Alice!
Now, I’m not the biggest fan of the matte liquid lipstick (because it’s a hard formula for chronically dry, chapped lips to pull off!), but I feel like most, if not all, of these colors have been done. And judging by swatches alone, other formulas look less drying and patchy. Perhaps I’m a little jaded because just about every brand has jumped on this bandwagon, so it’s unlikely there are any colors left that would be dupe-less.
Hmm I’m not sure how I feel about these, I love the colors but the light shades seems to settle in the fine lines quite a bit!
Wish you had done a full face view. The closeups really magnify texture, and the light shades certainly pull into lip lines. The distance shot is how most people look at/experience your lips, not so up close? The blue did not seem to apply fully. These follow the general guidelines as to which shades are easy to produce, which are not. CP & KVD look like reasonable alternatives. KVD has a few shades similar to Drop Dead Red, my fave of this collection. Get your balm ready before these, ladies and gents.
This is just a sneak peek – full photos, swatches, reviews, dupes, etc. are all to come. You can also click any shade and see all photos if you want as well. 🙂
Here, Too Faced. Take my money! ???
Hmm they look pretty dry across the range and I don’t think any of the light nude colors look very good. Some serious setting into lip lines going on there! Some of the deeper shades look nice though.
I love matte lips. I have three shades but took back back one of them. And gave one away Domingues I only have one shade now. Lol. I rather my Kat Von D or makeup forever aqua rouge. Actually I rather a matte lipstick or lip liner. I don’t do gloss because they all create this horrible ring after wearing for a while. ?. Mattes just last longer and I don’t have to worry about checking my lips every other minute. Maybe it’s just me..
It’s Happening and Bend& Snap look nice, many of the others look dry and patchy. I’m really over matte everything.
I am generally a fan of Too Faced, but these do not look strong. I am only just now getting into liquid lipsticks (bought my first two Kat Von D’s a couple weeks ago) and while I am years late to the party, I think I’d be ready to leave soon. I get why people like the staying power, but so far I have been layering gloss and other lipsticks over my liquid lipstick to avoid that dry, dead look.
I just bought two La Creme Lipsticks (sale shades — $11 each!) to make up for all of the dryness in this post…the dark shades in particular look awful. My lips just aren’t made for liquid mattes in general, though.
I defiantly want to get my hands on some of these, they look amazing I can’t wait !
I like some of these, Queen B and Unicorn most of all. I do hope they will be at least somewhat comfortable. I do have a bit of a problem with mattes feeling so drying, and sometimes not flatter my lips.
Looking forward to the reviews!
OMG – your poor lips! Some of these looked really dehydrating and drying on your lips. Hmmm….
Some of these are interesting (finally more companies are doing blue!) but I’m pretty sure I have dupes for a the ones I like.
Some of these look kind of patchy and dry, so I’m a bit hesitant. My favorites are Sell Out and Who’s Zoomin’ Who. I hope those at least do decently! Some of those light ones though, yikes! ?
Will these be available at Ulta?
I see some really bold colors, cool! And most of them look really good, too.
Amazing colors!
Loving naughty by nature!
I’ve already made up a song in my head for Lady Balls. lmao Probably will pass on these, but what a name!
At least some of the brighter colors don’t look dry as the Sahara! (Can you tell matte is not my favorite texture for lipstick?) Who’s Zoomin’ Who is a beautifully interesting color, although it looks like it may have performance issues — it could be a great mixing color, especially with some of the cool neutrals from Color Pop, if the two formulas are compatible.
OH Christine! Your Poor lips!
The shade names remind me of the Tarteist Lip Paint names… I thought saying Twerk or Yassss in response to what are you wearing? was bad but apparently Too Faced wanted to one-up them with Lady Balls… yikes!
Wow… I hate to say it, Christine, but some of these manage to look unattractive even on *your* beautiful lips! That can’t be easy for a formula to do, but somehow they managed it :\
Whooof, some of these look kinda bad. I remember seeing the day they came out on Sephora that there was 0.4 oz of product and I was thinking that’s crazy, that it must be a huge tube. 😛 I imagined it had to be a similar size to KVD. I’m happy to see that I already have some good color alternatives for colors I liked. I can skip Evil Twin because I have KVD Damned, for example.
They look horrible, dry and patchy!
Oh man. I could never pull these off – the matte/dry finish would make me crazy – but in a different formula I would wear the heck out of Lady Balls or Bend and Snap just because of what they’re called.
I like lady balls (ughhh weird name, but red is my color) and queen B. Bf would rather see me in the queen B shade though but I love rocking the red lip
I love SellOut! I’m looking forward for a detailed review 😀 I love your posts!
