Sneak Peek: Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick Photos & Swatches

Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick
Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick

Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a new lipstick formula that’s supposed to give “vibrant” color with “rich moisture” in hues inspired by red. I bought six to try, and I fell in love with the finish so much that I reached out to Shiseido to see about getting the remaining shades so I could have swatches of them all. Full reviews to come, but it’s such a well-done formula–pigmented, creamy, moisturizing, four to six-hour wear, and so comfortable.

I have not bought anything from Shiseido in 20 years, but that’s definitely going to change!! I’ve been eyeing Rose Crush ever since I saw you wear it, it’s on my buy list. And probably Red Queen and Rouge Rum too. All of these swatches look so gorgeous, so many flattering colors here, and the pigment and finish are stunning. I had no idea these Shiseido lipsticks even existed. And I know they have good GWP deals too

Think it has been 30 + for me. The foundations reviewed earlier looked great, as do these. Loved their old scent, Zen, and another I can’t quite place. Now Shisedo scent is Serge Lutens, right? The m/u is pricier than the scent. Can’t say I haven’t coveted it…

Katherine T. Avatar

Great minds think alike! I haven’t tried these, so I don’t know about scent. In the USA, Shiseido is sold thru dept stores and Sephora

Beth Avatar

Whyyyy?? I love at least four of these and I need them like I need a hole in the head…such stunning, flattering shades must seek them out and swatch in person 🙂

Alecto Avatar

Can NOT believe you’re doing this to us! Aaargh! Bloodstone, Red Queen, and Sweet Desire are calling my name. Rouge Rum Punch looks a lot like a lipstick I Frankensteined from two Permfomance Colors lipsticks recently, and which I fell in love with: Stoplight (a stong reddish orange) and Incognito (a medium lavender) — RRP might be ever so slightly more berry.

Ruby Avatar

At least you narrowed it down to one! Liaison is definitely on my wish list, but also Rose Crush and Rum Punch and … oh my. I’ll at least stay my hand until I see the reviews and the dupes ….

Bonnie Avatar

These have my attention since your first impression is so good, but I’m not exactly blown away by these. Especially after seeing the Audacious swatches. Maybe this is a formula I’ll have to wear to fully appreciate. I like Rouge Rum Punch, Sweet Desire, and Red Queen. Don’t understand the name of the last one though…
Will look forward to your reviews. Thanks for the sneak peek!

Gorgeous creamy smooth looking colors! They all look fabulous on you – but damn it, girl, is there anything that DOESN’T??? There are a couple I want – but Rose Crush will surely be the first. Looks like the perfect everyday shade.

Chacha Avatar

Hushed tones and Sweet desires 🙂 I have 2 lipsticks from Shiseido calls Le Rouge Parfait but on swatch its incredible you are surprise because with one swipe its a full coverage, but on lips its too much pigmented, too much creamy, maybe buttery so too much for me (the both are pink)…so this lipsticks look like very different and the colors beautiful, less texture than previous lipsticks and i prefer that!

So.Many.Great.Lipsticks this season! I love the look of First Bite and Rouge Rum Punch, I’m still searching for the perfect dark mauve lipstick and this could be it! This sounds to be permanent so hopefully I can buy this when I come off my no-buy.

Wendy Avatar

I love these shades!!! I’ve been looking for a lovely “muted” red shade for work. I need to get to a Shiseido counter soon. Thank you for the swatches!! xo

Mariella Avatar

These look fabulous and I can get them for 20% off and using SDM points so I’m going to see if there’s a shade close to my beloved Datenut Red (I tried the new Chanel lippies and they weren’t “close enough”) Shiseido has a few really excellent products and it sounds like these lippies are an example of how great they can be.

I absolutely adore anything Shiseido. These lipsticks are fantastic, I picked up a couple and fell in love. I was so worried when I saw the Perfect Rouge lipsticks disappearing off Sephora’s website. They are fantastic as well. Now I have this new formula to fall in love with. Their skincare is awesome as well!

I’m so glad to see you’re reviewing these! I feel like Shiseido makes such great products but gets lost in the endless see of Limited Editions and palettes, and reformulations by other brands that advertise so intensely through youtubers. I’m really happy their products are getting more steam and can’t wait to see them catch on!

Tatiana Avatar

I need another red lipstick like I need a hole in my head, but I think I need one or two of these. I have a sheer red from Shiseido from years back and it’s the easiest red to wear.

Ruth Avatar

I checked these out today at my local Shiseido counter and they have taken over my Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks as my favourite formula, texture and colours. The colours are stunning, Shiseido really knocked it out the ball park with these new lippies !

Katherine T. Avatar

Really??? OMG, I needs to try one! I’ve been eyeing the Rouge G’s forever, but can’t pull the trigger b/c of price tag and limited colors, will get eventually one for sure since it’s on my bucket list, but in the meantime, I can get 2 Shiseidos for that and still have change left over. If these lippies are that good, Shiseido needs to increase their advertising, they are seriously over-looked and under-rated

Marie-Estelle Avatar

The more I look at those swatches… the more colors I fall in love with! lol
The finish seems wonderful, I can’t wait to read what you think about them and see how the formula compare to the new MUFE’s ones :). I have big hopes for the nudes and bloodstone!

PS: Is the price/oz correct? 0.014 oz per bullet seems so little I wondered if there was not an extra 0.

Jane Avatar

I bought this in Rose Crush and I love it, a little irrationally. The bullet shape, the smooth, slick way it applies. It is not a long-wearer for me, but my face seems to consume makeup, so I really can’t judge how it would work for other people. I want Bloodstone and Real Ruby, too.

And the darling little package I believe is inspired by the heritage of Shiseido. Stunning.

Xarybde Avatar

They all look soooo beautiful – but Shiseido is freaking expensive so I’ll probably wait until more reviews come out before taking a decision. Hushed Tone and Rose Crush look like they would be such beautiful nude-ish colors, and I have a weakness for the mauve tones of Sweet Desire. Bloodstone is calling my name even though I already own similar shades. Damn. Why must I always do this to myself. Why.

Tracey E. Avatar

Outside of buying an eye cream and a foundation brush, I rarely think about Shiseido. These lipsticks will bring by the counter this fall/winter. Am focusing on using the lipsticks that I have.

Zoe Avatar

Is it just me or do a lot of these look similar to one another?
Also only pinks and reds, no oranges, browns, or purples.
I have noticed a lot of Asian brands tend to stick to this color palette.
Do you have any insight as to why that might be, Christine?
