Sneak Peek: Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons Photos & Swatches
Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons
Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon ($25.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a new take on the brand’s popular Highliner formula: twelve new shades with a more matte finish. Here are swatches…
Woohoo! Fine(wine) looks like a dupe for Chanel’s Grenat, which is one of my favorite eye liners… I am so happy that I can buy this one as a back-up. 🙂 Hopefully they will launch anytime soon over here.
Grenat is one of my favourites too! I’m not usually a fan of super matte eyeliners, but Fine(wine) is a must have for me as well.
Hey Wwendy, yes, I am so relieved! I am not using that eye liner a lot because until now there was nothing near to it. And glad you’re back here! I was worrying a bit!
Wwendy!!!! Missed your comments!! I went to the Sandra Shamus show and when she speaks of her tractor, i always wonder if you are one of her neighbours. Glad you’re back. Hope all is well!
Hey Helen! : Small world. I actually used to run into Sandra at my old training coach’s barn during my riding days. We never hit it off; one of those looked at each other moments and clearly instant mutual dislike. She make a few mean-spirited cracks and I made a questioning look at her; couldn’t understand what prompted any of the attack since I wasn’t introduced to her and she didn’t even know me. My coach was taken aback and visually embarrassed.
So if she is in my ‘hood’.. I won’t hold my breath for dinner invite LOL.
I don’t know where she lives, but if her place is in the same area as Elton’s.. then, yup we be reluctant neighbours.
So sorry to read about your experience (but kinda not surprised). I’ve enjoyed her work throughout the years and hoped to work with her but it never materialized….hope you (and tractor) are doing well.
Welp – bye, bye, paychecks.
Fine Wine and Mist Me!!
I saw the swatch of fine wine and thoughT of you, Katherine!
I’m excited for reviews! There are a bunch of great colors here, and the swatches look nice and pigmented, too.
If these won’t dry out like the present formula, I will want at least 3 of them. Love the matte!
Whirl(pool) and Grape(vine) look right up my alley! It is wonderful to see such a smooth, densely pigmented true purple eyeliner, a miracle in of itself!
The swatches look gorgeous. Here’s hoping wear and texture is good.
I love these initially but I find they dry out too easily. I have two beautiful green shades, one of which I had to toss because it won’t work at all.
I tossed the shades I purchased too! I might try one of the new ones.
I’ve found the more matte shades don’t see to dry out like the one with sparkles/glitter in them. I have the lavender sparkle one that’s pretty dry now, but the purple and black, which don’t have sparkle, have stayed creamy and easy to work with! So I’m looking forward to these, as Marc Jacobs has some of the best and most unusual colors, especially for a major make up brand!
Thank you for the tip!
Grapevine, wine, and the light pink are BEAUTIFUL!
I wish marc jacobs would also make potted gel liners!
I second that!
0.01 oz?! 0.01 oz?! I know I always flip out about size but my word! Eyeliners are usually 0.04 of this style but I suppose it’s twist-up so the swivel space has to go somewhere 😛
Irony looks like it would literally be my perfect colour for cool toned barely browned black. I’ll have to wait for a good sale for this one!
Most twist-up eyeliners are 0.01 or less!
Christine – can these be used on the waterline?
I’m not sure!
These look great – love the shade range. But no greens!
I would have loved a nice medium green in this line!
That second row is beautiful!
Whatta great bunch of swatches. Clearly these are not the other MJ formula, which stays ~ 5 secs on me, even on upper lash (not tight) line. As if the major ingredient is remover. Luckily, they are great for most, ’cause MJ colors rival, and may even best, UD 24/7. Here’s hoping! I need more liners like I need more calories, but these are mighty fine.
Loved your post!!
Drooling over (Grape)vine and (Earth)quake seems like it could be a nice staple color for days when I’m feeling more neutral. Looking forward to the reviews!
Fine wine is a maybe for me, though only if it swatches really well will I risk it, since I had to toss an MJ highliner in Sunset due to the drying out issue.
I love row 3. But, I can’t justify $75 on all 3 (darn!). So, I guess I’ll start with Mist Me. It’s a shade I don’t own 🙂
I love (pop)ular and mist me!
These look gooood! Such fun shades!
All pretty colours, but I’ve been disappointed with MJ liners (eye and lip) in the past. Plus, one thing that always bothered me is not being able to get a nice sharp point on them. I think I’ll be able to resist these.
(Iron)y has my name on it… I have (Stone)fox as I love grey eyeliners and Marc Jacobs are one of the few eyeliners which stay on my waterline so I’d love a grey without shimmer as well.
I love the Highliner formula! That navy blue is calling my name!
Will these be permanent ?
Woha. Awesome pigmentation.
