Black Cherry

Smashbox Black Cherry Be Legendary Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep berry with a hint of cool, red undertones and a natural sheen. There was very, very fine shimmer throughout, but it was sparse and only gave it greater luminosity but did not make it appear pearly, frosted, or metallic. It had semi-opaque, even coverage, which gave it a lip-stained-like appearance as the translucency was noticeable but even.

The texture felt moderately emollient with some slip, a light-medium thickness, and didn’t tug or pull on the lips when applied directly from the tube. This shade wore well for five and a half hours, left a soft stain behind, and was lightly hydrating over time. I liked it overall, and I think the translucency and finish will be right up someone’s alley, though it isn’t quite the most “pigment-loaded” shade I’ve tried from the range.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Pretty, and I don’t actually own any dupes! Interestingly, while this is LE at Sephora, it’s actually a permanent color on Smashbox.com, which means I will hold off on getting it until I’ve recovered from my recent lipstick binges, LOL.

Beautiful. This post made me realize there’s one thing (just one?) that I don’t understand in the new format. I wondered if this one was part of the Smashbox holiday set. Not really important, but it made me realize that IDK where/how to find the ‘contained in’ information anymore. That prob is not relevant to this lipstick, but in general, unless S.t. Is reviewed as part of a set, like the CPs usually are, IDK how to determine if it is part of a multi set. I knew before…. e.g when you looked up a mufe shadow, all palette inclusions were listed. Please excuse the question, if this info is obvious, and this specific l/S simply is not part of a multi offering. Now I feel dumb. Not the first time this week, or day.

It’s still on the same pages – it is in the “content” area (not the sidebar, if your view had a sidebar).

This lipstick is not part of any set!

Here’s one that is a set: http://www.temptalia.com/product/tom-ford-beauty-lip-contour-duo/ill-teach-you-05/

Right under the brand’s description is the section “Contains,” which shows the two products in it. We added photos and pricing now for those items!

And if you’re on an individual shade’s page and it is in a set, right after the description sections, it will have “Also Available in a Palette or Set” section: http://www.temptalia.com/product/tom-ford-beauty-lip-contour-duo-lip-color/ill-teach-you-lip-color/

Here’s a fun one – MAC Carbon: http://www.temptalia.com/product/mac-cosmetics-eyeshadow/carbon/
Look how many sets it is in! 🙂

Thanks a lot. Figured I had just missed it, and that this one was not in a set. Probably should have looked and answered my own question. You are a natural for doing a turkey. It’s all in the org and timing, which you have to spare. So many folks are intimidated, but it’s the easiest part of the spread. The latest I read on the bird is not to wash it, let the oven take care of the germs. Washing presumably just spreads the possibilities to pick something unwanted up, while you make other things. That inherently makes sense, but I’m not sure I’m willing to forego the wet prep. Don’t forget the organ meats for sweetie Mellan, if you don’t want to use them in the stuffing, gravy, etc. dogs go nuts for that gizzard business.

Just clicked on your examples. They are the same product. The first one…with the-05/ does not bring up the sets, but the second one does (ending lip-color/.) this is odd to me, bec ostensibly they are the same place. Or not? One thing is for certain, Carbon shows them, and there’s a whole lot more Carbon out there than needed. Sorry for the tempest in a teapot. You don’t need me to go all niggly-piggly OCD on you right now! Maybe this is an iPad thing.

Oh, what a beautiful color! I normally wear opaque lipsticks, but I’m starting to really appreciate the translucent ones. They are usually very flattering as they mix with my natural lip color, and the translucency gives the lips (and face) a softer look.
