Sephora Cappuccino, Clubbing Stilettos, Fresh Mint, Black Lace Contour Eye Pencils Reviews & Swatches (2021)
Cappuccino (12)
Sephora Cappuccino (12) 12-Hour Contour Eyeliner Pencil (2021) ($11.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium, warmer brown base with flecks of dark gold sparkle throughout. The texture seemed smooth enough, despite the higher amount of sparkle in it, but it had to be layered and applied in shorter, more overlapping strokes in order to get higher coverage.
In a single pass, it was more semi-sheer with unevenness in coverage but also in thickness. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours before thinning but was still visible (about ~705) at the 12-hour mark.

- Sephora Cappuccino (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar).

- Buxom Come Over (P, $17.00).
Formula Overview
$11.00/0.04 oz. - $275.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "ultra-pigmented," "waterproof," and have "12-hour" wear. The majority of the shades were semi-opaque to opaque in a single stroke with a smooth, creamy consistency that had good glide with a few shades being overly soft and more prone to breaking/mushing on the skin (so needed a lighter hand--is less prone to do so when lining the actual eye area rather than swatching on one's arm, though).
They were quick to dry down but had enough creaminess that they could be blended and smudged initially, if desired. While the ingredient lists seemed to differ between this formula and its predecessor (with the same name), the colors, textures, and wear times seemed to be similar. Most shades lasted between nine and 10 hours on me with the more glittery shades having the shortest wear times and the deeper matte shades having the longest wear times.

Clubbing Stilettos (02)
Sephora Clubbing Stilettos (02) 12-Hour Contour Eyeliner Pencil (2021) ($11.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and barely-there flecks of silver micro-sparkle over a matte finish. It was slightly less intense compared to the matte black eyeliner in the range (which obviously has no sparkle).
The texture was moderately creamy, dense without being firm, and deposited nearly opaque coverage in a single stroke. It wore well for nine hours before fading visibly but was still visible (about ~70%) at the 12-hour mark.

Fresh Mint (60)
Sephora Fresh Mint (60) 12-Hour Contour Eyeliner Pencil (2021) ($11.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a muted, sage green with a cooler, grayish base and warmer, golden pearl mixed with darker, emerald green sparkle. It had semi-sheer color coverage, which was somewhat buildable, but it was one of the worst-performing shade sin the range as it did not apply as evenly or as smoothly as it could have.
The texture felt lightly creamy, smooth, and was comfortable to use, but it just didn’t deposit color as well as other shades. It lasted decently for eight hours before showing signs of fading/thinning, though it was somewhat visible (about ~65%) at the 12-hour mark.

Black Lace (01)
Sephora Black Lace (01) 12-Hour Contour Eyeliner Pencil (2021) ($11.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich, deep black with neutral undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth, creamy, and easy to work with against the lower lash line, waterline, and along the curvature of the lid area.
It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which looked fully opaque in practice (at a normal viewing distance compared to a close-up photo!). It stayed on well for 10 hours but was still visible (about ~785) at the 12-hour mark.

Black Lace – way less expensive than my HG Smashbox Always On Fishnet! And it sounds just as good, too.
Cappuccino – even though it seems to be not as up to par as the previous iteration, I really love the color enough to probably get it anyway. Might be just enough of something on my lashline when I leave the hospital after my upcoming surgery later this month.
Best of luck with the surgery. The black liner would be fine. but uh, I know you’re a makeup maven, but is it necessary for the trip home from the hospital? This is the hospital. No one expects you to look good, leaving. M/u free will make your acquaintances realize how much work and skill you put into it, when your ‘face is on’ again.
Thank you, KJH! Yes, you do make a valid point there. It’s true; no one is going to be looking at my makeup or expecting me to look all that great. There will hopefully be plenty of time to play with my makeup once I’m back on my feet again.
Just plain bad, bad and bad, Sephora has not done justice to these once popular gems. A big disappointment.
Oh NO!!!! What have they done to Cappuccino? It’s my go to liner. I have 2 backups, I think (hope they’ve not dried up; they’ve still got the original cellophane wrapping). It was such a fantastic liner and I know the old version got a good rating (an A, I think). Why did they f*** it up???? (can you tell how angry I am???)
