Revlon Glaring Red, Shine Stealer, Glassy Ruby Melting Glass Shine Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Glaring Red (023)
Revlon Glaring Red (023) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brighter, richer coral-red with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied fairly evenly in a single layer, but the product was more prone to sitting in my lip lines, both subtle and deeper ones at that. The shiny finish helped to distract from the imperfections of the application, though.
The lipstick had a creamy, smooth consistency that felt like it melted against the warmth of my lips during application. It wore well for four hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have "brilliant color with major payoff" with an "amazingly buttery feel that instantly melts onto your lips for glass-like shine." The coverage was more medium to semi-opaque, often buildable to a minor degree, so I don't know that I'd call it "major payoff," the coverage was noticeable and allowed for real differentiation from shade to shade as they weren't so sheer that they ran together.
The consistency has an incredibly creamy, smooth feel that definitely melts on the lips but seems to "set" subtly, which seemed to tamp down the slip slightly, though it was still moderately emollient on my lips. I'd recommend being more conscious of using one layer or so as it can be easy to over-apply due to how much it feels like it's melting against one's lips.
The finish was definitely glass-like; very shiny and gave the illusion of volume to my lips. I found that there was some color that settled into lip lines or caught on minor imperfections with some shades, though the shine made it harder to notice in person. I imagine if you like grab-and-go color that's glossy with medium coverage or greater color that's easy to apply and re-apply, this formula could be a match.
The formula had a subtle, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The biggest "con" to the formula was the packaging, which was industrially-wrapped with a very tacky sticker that was not just difficult to remove to open the lipstick to begin with but difficult to get all of the tackiness off. I'd recommend using a sharp knife/blade (safely!) to cut across the sticker, then twist the cap off rather than removing the sticker at all.

Shine Stealer (024)
Revlon Shine Stealer (024) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a brighter, medium red with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish. The color payoff was more medium to semi-opaque with a second layer, but it definitely was opaque and couldn’t be built there without filling in using a lip pencil underneath.
It had a creamy texture that was smooth and comfortable to apply as it never tugged–in fact, it melted really!–during application. Initially, it seemed too slippery to work out, but it set gradually to have less slip without fully drying down or getting too tacky. This shade lasted well for four hours and left a very faint stain behind while the formula felt moisturizing while worn.

Glassy Ruby (025)
Revlon Glassy Ruby (025) Super Lustrous Melting Glass Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with subtle, cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish with barely-there pearl. The consistency was smooth, creamy, and had moderate slip as it felt like it melted against my lips as I applied it in a fluid stroke. It seemed to “set” softly so it wasn’t quite as slippery while worn, which made it easier to wear overall.
The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer, which stayed on nicely for four hours and felt hydrating over time.

Well, I do know that I really would love to have Glassy Ruby for next autumn and winter! It it has that perfect balance between cool and warm that I like in a plum. Which is why I’m surprised I have no dupes for it!
However, I do have dupes for both Glaring Red and Shine Stealer.
Shine Stealer reminds me of one of the Slimshines from forever ago. I think it was “Urgent!”?
Glassy Ruby is lovely.
I’m not sure how long this type of formula would last on my lips, I tend to rub my lips together a lot, but as it did set a bit it might work.
Pretty shades and Shine Stealer is gorgeous, but I do find that a lot of Revlon’s lipsticks just turn pink on me.
Glass Ruby is definitely on my list! So glad that glossy lipsticks are back!
