Wayne Goss Obsidian Eye Kohl Pencil ($14.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep, true black with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque coverage in a single layer (and could be built up to mostly opaque coverage) at a comfortable pressure; I felt like to get opaque coverage, it was a bit too firm to do so comfortably (it made my waterline water at a lighter pressure).
The pencil glided smoothly across my lower lash line without tugging, but it wasn't as comfortable to use on my waterline, though it deposited color evenly. It had faded quite noticeably, though with minimal build up into the inner/outer corners, by seven hours on my lower lash line (nothing was on my waterline after six hours) and was barely visible after nine hours of wear.
